The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 887: Chapter 887: You Finally Showed Up

”Tomorrow?” Lu Sanzhu touched his chin and waved his hand magnanimously, ”Never mind, I’ll ask for another day off tomorrow.”

Everyone, ”...” Just to check out a house, you’re skipping work? Is it really worth it?

”Third Uncle.” Daya also came over to the window and said to Lu Sanzhu on the other side of the car, ”You already took a day off today, if you ask for another one tomorrow, what if the boss gets upset? You just got a raise, be careful he might cut your wages.”

Lu Sanzhu was smug, ”You don’t know the half of it. Your Third Uncle I have foresight. I knew that Yu would definitely have a lot to do upon returning, and as his uncle, I should lend a hand, right? So I told the boss first thing in the morning that I might need two days off.”

Ah, you do have your wits about you.

The very next moment, Dabao’s head peeked out from behind the curtains, his eyes shining with eagerness, ”Then I’ll also ask for another day off, I won’t go to the private school tomorrow.”

After speaking, he also shook his head proudly.

The old lady, hearing this, pointed at Lu Sanzhu and scolded, ”Look at the fine example you’re setting, your son is learning bad habits from you lazybones.”

All of Lu Sanzhu’s cockiness vanished from his face, he shrank his neck, grabbed the reins from Daniu’s hands and, without another word, sped up and hurried to the front.

The old lady snorted coldly, ”After such a long absence, I thought he had a proper job and had made some progress. I didn’t expect him to be the same as always.”

”Grandmother, no need to worry, viewing the house won’t take all day. After we’re done tomorrow, we’ll drive him to work.”

Shu Yu turned around, smiled, and also quickened her pace.

The two mule carriages thus entered the city gates, one after the other.

Since the city gate was close to Ningshui Street, they planned to drop Daniu and his wife at the shop first, then head back to Liufang Alley.

But no sooner had their mule carriage entered Ningshui Street than an angry voice reached their ears.

”Lu Sanzhu, Lu Sanzhu!!”

Shu Yu pulled the reins and looked around, only to see someone hurrying over from behind.

Oh, that face seems familiar; it looks like the staff from the cloth shop yesterday.

The staff member caught his breath after rushing over and glared with dissatisfaction, ”Lu Sanzhu, you finally show up.”

Shu Yu, sitting with her feet propped up on the cart, said, ”That’s a strange way to put it. What do you mean ’finally’? It sounds like I’ve been purposely hiding. Who are you for me to have to hide from?”

”You...” The staff member instinctively wanted to retort, but then remembered the shopkeeper’s instructions and had to suppress his irritation before saying, ”Lu Sanzhu, I don’t mean that. It’s just that yesterday you discussed with our shopkeeper about the dissolution of the business agreement between our two families, and our shopkeeper has been waiting and waiting without seeing Lu Sanzhu. He thought Lu Sanzhu might have been busy and forgotten with the return home.”

His voice was not at all low and, being in the middle of the street, passersby could hear everything.

Shu Yu chuckled, ”Such nice words, you’re worried I’ll renege, aren’t you? Don’t worry, I keep my word. For your shopkeeper to conduct business in such an ugly fashion, I’d worry about losses if I continued to cooperate with you.”

The staff member’s face darkened, and he looked around to indeed find many people showing expressions of surprise.

He wanted to explain, but Shu Yu had already come down from the cart.

”Alright, since we’re going to dissolve the partnership, let’s go. I don’t want to drag this out either.”
