The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 893: Chapter 893: Going to See the Big House

All the clothes in the ready-to-wear clothes shop were sold out, and the remaining people were all asking about Yu, so Daniu had no choice but to close the shop.

The shop closed early, and before the people outside could react, the couple quietly left through the back door.

Only after they walked out of Ningshui Street did the couple finally breathe a sigh of relief.

”Yesterday, Yu was still saying that the clothes and inventory in the shop could last for a while, who would have thought that in just half an hour, everything would be sold out.”

Zhou Qiao also nodded nervously, as this was the first time she had encountered such a scene.

Those customers didn’t even try them on, just took them and came to pay. She kindly advised them that the fitting rooms were inside, but they didn’t care at all, they didn’t even discuss the price, just asked to have them packaged and taken away.

If it weren’t for Daniu learning quite a few characters and arithmetic lately, I’m afraid even the money collection would have been wrong.

Zhou Qiao asked him, ”Where are we going now?”

”Let’s go find Yu.”

Daniu still had an invitation card in his hand, which Ding Yuehua had just given him to pass on to Shu Yu.

When the two arrived at Liufang Alley, they didn’t know which house the old lady and the others had rented, so they could only find Xiang to ask first.

As it turned out, Xiang said, ”They set off early in the morning to look at the mansion.”

Daniu slapped his forehead, ”That’s right, I almost forgot. Yesterday, Third Uncle also said that he wanted to go and see that compound with three courtyards, let’s go take a look too.”

Daniu remembered the address of the mansion, as Shu Yu had told him.

The two then changed direction and headed straight for Fenghuai Street.

Fenghuai Street belongs to the wealthy area; the houses here are much larger than those in Liufang Alley, at the very least having a small two-courtyard layout, but mostly three-courtyard compounds.

The house awarded to Shu Yu was located in the middle of Fenghuai Street, surrounded by shops, but all were some exquisite restaurants and courtyards that served not the ordinary people, but those with high privacy.

The Lu family’s second household got up early, and Lu Sanzhu knocked on their door.

Lu Sanzhu was exceptionally excited, as if he was looking at his own home, urging Shu Yu and the others to hurry up and set off.

Two mule carriages stopped on Fenghuai Street, and Shu Yu took out the keys to open the door.

From what she understood from Xiang Weinan, the house hadn’t been inhabited for a long time. Previously, many people had eyed this compound, but the former county magistrate wanted it for himself and blocked anyone who came.

Who knew that before he even found the opportunity to secure the house, he himself got into trouble.

Xiang Weinan was not interested in this house; being alone, he was fine living in the back courtyard of the county office. His coming to Jiangyuan County was just a formality, waiting for the day when the Fifth Prince ascended the throne, then he would rise in ranks and return to the Capital.

Therefore, he had no plans to settle down here; hence, the compound remained vacant.

Unexpectedly, in the end, it fell into Shu Yu’s hands.

When the courtyard door was pushed open, Lu Sanzhu was the first one to run in, followed by several children entering the door.

After circling the screen wall and seeing the open view in front, they all exclaimed ’Wow’ in unison.

”It looks so big.”

Shu Yu was also a bit surprised, originally thinking that since it had been unoccupied for a long time, the house would be quite run down.

Now it seems that Xiang Weinan was considerate; he had already arranged for people to come and tidy up beforehand. Apart from some dust, the floor was clean, no weeds, no spider webs under the eaves, making it look very fresh.

Lu Sanzhu was already cheering and running inside; Dahu and Dabao followed him, while Sanya and Xiaozhen trailed behind with Baoya.
