The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 883: Chapter 883: Lu Sanzhu Uses Retreat as Advance

Shu Yu laughed and said, ”My dad, he wants to open his own carpentry shop, but that will have to wait. At any rate, we need to renovate the manor bestowed by His Majesty before we make any further plans.”

With a highly skilled and experienced carpenter in the family, the renovation of the manor was naturally entrusted to her own father.

However, Craftsman Zheng who worked on the shop’s renovation last time was also quite skilled. Shu Yu was considering asking her father to call him over too. With more people, the work would proceed faster, so they could move in sooner.

”Brother Daniu, after you take over the shop for my sister, I was hoping you could help with planting sunflowers. You have the experience, and you’re reliable; truly, you’re the only one for the job.”

Daniu was stunned; he did not expect Shu Yu to bring this up before he had the chance to mention it himself.

He was, of course, delighted. ”I knew it. You really care about those sunflowers and are bound to plant them extensively. Don’t worry, I might be a rookie when it comes to being a shopkeeper, but there’s no problem when it comes to farming.”

”Exactly. I’m counting on this to make my fortune.”

Daniu laughed heartily, and everyone who was talking nearby looked over in unison.

It was indeed rare to see Daniu so animated.

It seemed he was discussing some happy news with Shu Yu.

Lu Sanzhu’s eyes lit up, and he immediately moved closer, asking impatiently, ”What are you talking about? What? Let me in on it too.”

Shu Yu, speechless, didn’t answer him and continued speaking to Daniu, ”Once we’re back in the county town, I plan to buy a manor, with the land included. I just don’t know how many mu of fields come with it. I’m still not very familiar with Jiangyuan County, so I’ll need you to take a look when the time comes.”

Before Daniu could respond, Lu Sanzhu’s eyes shone brightly, ”Yu, you want to buy a manor? Do you, do you have that much money!!”

Shu Yu’s mouth twitched, ”Did you forget? The Imperial Decree mentioned a reward of two hundred gold taels.”

”Oh, right, right, right, I almost forgot. That is two hundred gold taels.” How envious, his mouth almost watering.

With that much money, buying a manor and land wouldn’t be a problem at all.

”Yu, if you’re buying a manor, you should come to me, I’m sure I know more than Daniu.”

Shu Yu turned to look at him, ”You?”

”Yeah, Daniu spends all day in the ready-to-wear clothes shop, clumsy with words, not meeting many people. I’m different. In the peach forest, I know people from all over the place, I’m very well-informed. I’ll inquire for you and find a manor that’s both cheap and suitable.”

Daniu nodded on the side, acknowledging this was indeed something Third Uncle was better at.

”Let Third Uncle give it a shot, I’ll help out too.”

”That’s great, thanks a lot, Third Uncle.”

Lu Sanzhu was brimming with satisfaction, waving his hand, ”These are just trivial matters. However, Yu, inquiring about these things always involves some socializing, treating people to meals, and... don’t worry, I just got a raise, I’ll cover these expenses myself. After all, you’ve taken good care of us.”

Well, Third Uncle is improving, already knows how to give and take, huh?

”Then you pay for it.”

Lu Sanzhu, ”...” He was just speaking figuratively.

Daniu could tell and, holding back a laugh, changed the topic, ”But we need to act quickly on this matter. Didn’t you say that the best time to plant sunflowers is in the spring? If it’s any later, we might miss the ideal season.”

”No more than half a month at most, I’ll do it as soon as possible.”

As the group chatted, they had already reached Lu Dasong’s home.
