The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 858: Chapter 858: Solve Your Own Problem!

Shu Yu raised an eyebrow, ”Is that so? Sorry for not informing you before I came back, didn’t mean to startle you.”

The shopkeeper: ”...”

He had no way to respond to that.

But Shu Yu didn’t need his response, she just pointed at Lu Daniu behind her and said, ”However, I also didn’t expect to get a shock from you. This is the shopkeeper from our ready-to-wear clothes shop, whom I think you know. He came to pick up goods today, but it seems things haven’t gone smoothly.”

The shopkeeper knew he was here to settle accounts and was pondering over Shu Yu’s current situation.

There were rumors recently that she had committed a crime and was exiled to the southwest. At first, he didn’t believe them because if she had really been exiled, why would Lord Xiang still take care of the ready-to-wear clothes shop?

But the rumors were detailed, and when people asked the Lu family, the Lu family vehemently denied it. However, the shopkeeper, being a sharp man, was there at the time and clearly saw the guilt in their eyes.

He then believed that Lu Shuyu was indeed exiled.

Unexpectedly, even Lu Sanzhu who had been exiled could still receive Lord Xiang’s protection.

He couldn’t help speculating about the relationship between Lu Shuyu and Xiang Weinan. They were of marriageable age, perhaps it was an illicit relationship that should not see the light of day?

The shopkeeper thus looked down on Shu Yu. Although he hadn’t dared to do anything detrimental to the ready-to-wear shop on the surface, small troubles like making things difficult for Lu Daniu, surely Lord Xiang wouldn’t bother about that, would he?

Only he didn’t expect Lu Shuyu to actually come back.

The shopkeeper thought that this must also be due to Lord Xiang’s influence, bringing her back from the southwest.

But the shopkeeper no longer esteemed her as before. He managed to maintain a bit of a smile when he first saw her, but now, upon hearing her questioning, his face fell.

”Lu Sanzhu must understand that our shop is the largest cloth shop in Jiangyuan County. We have so many customers coming and going for goods, so it’s naturally normal that we occasionally lack carts for deliveries, isn’t it? With mutual understanding, business can last long, right?”

Shu Yu chuckled, ”You’re wrong. To maintain a lasting business relationship, everything must be clear and according to the contract. Even blood brothers settle accounts; we naturally need to clarify things. When the contract was signed, there was a clause that you were responsible for home delivery, wasn’t there?”

The shopkeeper said with a smile, ”That’s true, but our shop really doesn’t have any carts available.”

That might work as an excuse for Daniu, but Shu Yu couldn’t help but snort, ”That’s your problem. You don’t have a cart, whether you rent one or buy one, that’s for you to resolve. Why push the problem onto the customer? Is this how you do business? When difficulties arise, you just let the customer deal with it themselves? What use are you then? Are you all useless?”

The shopkeeper’s face turned unsightly, and he was thankful that there were not many people in the shop at the moment; otherwise, if overheard, it could damage the reputation of their manor.

He took a deep breath, ”Lu Sanzhu makes a point, Qiu has taken the lesson. I will arrange for someone to rent a cart and personally deliver the goods to your residence.”

As he spoke, he was about to call out to the staff, ”Why are you not arranging it yet?”

But Shu Yu raised her hand, ”It’s too late.”

The shopkeeper frowned, ”What do you mean?”

Shu Yu smiled amicably, ”Originally, this fabric was urgently needed. We have a customer who urgently requires a piece of ready-to-wear. They offered a high price for us to have it done and delivered by the beginning of 7 p.m. today. Our shopkeeper Lu from the clothes shop should have come over this afternoon, right?”
