Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”Thank you for the kind offer, Manager Dong, but I still think the branch office is just fine.”

”Fine, fine. It seems you’re quite confident in your relationship with President Xu.”

Dong Hongping said mockingly, ”I hope you still have the nerve to talk to me like this in a little while.”

As the two of them waited, Jian Shiwai’s phone finally rang.

Dong Hongping said, ”Put it on speaker.”

Jian Shiwai did as she was told.

”Hello, Xiaowei.”

On the phone, Xu Yun asked with a laugh, ”You called me just now. Is something wrong?”

”President Xu, it’s like this.”

With someone else present, Jian Shiwai used a more formal address. ”Manager Dong from our main branch came to see me just now,” she said. ”She said you’ve already agreed to transfer your personal account to the main branch. I was wondering if you were aware of this.”

”Manager Dong? Transfer my personal account to the main branch?”

Xu Yun sounded utterly confused. ”Who is she? I don’t recall knowing anyone by that name.”

’??? ’

Hearing Xu Yun’s words, Dong Hongping grew frantic and quickly interjected, ”President Xu, I’m Dong Hongping from the main branch! We just had dinner together last night.”

”You promised me you would transfer your account to the main branch, remember?”

”Who are you? I don’t know you.”

Xu Yun said impatiently, then added, ”Xiaowei, you’d better watch my money for me. Don’t let anyone touch it.”

”Okay, President Xu. I understand.”

Hearing this, Jian Shiwai couldn’t help but smile to herself. She turned to Dong Hongping and said awkwardly, ”Manager Dong, you see...”

”!!!” Dong Hongping’s expression was now incredibly ugly.

She understood now. ’That bastard Xu Yun played me!’

But this was a bitter pill she had no choice but to swallow.

Dong Hongping looked at Jian Shiwai and said coldly before leaving, ”I’ll remember you for this.”

”Take care, Manager Dong. I won’t see you out.”

Jian Shiwai, now completely unafraid of her superior’s threat, waved with a smile and said, ”Feel free to come by the branch office to guide my work anytime.”

Meanwhile, Gao Xing had already reported the incident to the General Manager.

The General Manager chewed Dong Hongping out over the phone, then told Gao Xing to stop her at all costs and wait for him to get back.

He was already on his way and would arrive in two to three hours.

After readily agreeing, Gao Xing went back to check on the situation’s progress.

But just as he arrived, he saw Dong Hongping storming off with an ugly look on her face, ignoring him even when he tried to greet her.

’Could it be that she failed?’

’If so, that’s great!’

”Chairman Jian.”

Gao Xing entered the office and asked, wanting to confirm, ”What happened with Manager Dong? Why did she just leave? Did things not work out?”

”Mm.”

Jian Shiwai glanced at him and said flatly, ”President Xu said he doesn’t know her and that no such thing ever happened.”

Gao Xing was speechless.

’Hahaha, Xu Yun totally screwed her over!’

’It seems the relationship between Jian Shiwai and Xu Yun is much stronger and more complex than I imagined.’

He was secretly pleased with this outcome. After leaving Jian Shiwai’s office, he proceeded to report back to his own superior.

The story he told, of course, was that he had worked hard to stop the incident in order to complete his task, even at the risk of offending Manager Dong.

On the plane, the main branch’s General Manager was very satisfied with his performance.

As soon as he landed, he went to the branch office, called Dong Hongping in, and said meaningfully, ”Manager Dong, get ready. You’re coming with me to visit a major client in a bit.”

Dong Hongping was speechless.

’Fine, fine. You’re going to slap me in the face the second you get back, is that it?’

She smiled and nodded. ”Of course, President Dai. It’s just... I suspect President Xu will be difficult to schedule a meeting with.”

”Manager Dong, you know him?”

”Heh, of course not.”

Dong Hongping said, ”I just heard someone from their branch office mention that he isn’t very easy to get along with.”

”Manager Dong, I have to say something about that.”

The middle-aged man said, ”That’s precisely why we must reach out to him, proactively build a good relationship, and keep him satisfied so he stays with our bank.”

”He’s a whale that senior management has specifically pointed out. We absolutely cannot afford any slip-ups.”

”You’re right to criticize me, President Dai.”

Dong Hongping said, ”I’ll go and prepare right away.”

At his Jiangcheng Heaven and Earth apartment, after Xu Yun and Lin Suiling finished their takeout, he received another call from Jian Xiaowei.

This time, it was the head of her main branch, who wanted to pay him a visit directly.

Xu Yun naturally refused.

After all, there was still a woman recuperating at his home.

So, he set the meeting place at the golf club he had previously visited with Xino.

Lin Suiling asked, ”Are you going out?”

”Yeah, the real bank president wants to see me.”

Xu Yun said, ”You’re on your own for dinner. I won’t be able to join you.”

”It’s fine, don’t worry about me.”

Lin Suiling said, ”After you leave, I’ll rest a bit more and then head out myself.”

”Straight back to Hang City?”

”Yeah.”

Lin Suiling explained, ”I need to go back and find a few employees to help me. First, I have to get the company established and find a temporary office.”

”Then, while I’m handling the land procedures, I’ll also need to find someone to design the factory blueprints, find a construction crew... all that stuff. I’m going to be swamped for the next few months.”

”So that means you’ll be running back and forth between Jiangcheng and Hang City for a while?”

”Of course.”

Lin Suiling looked at him warily and asked, ”Why are you asking?”

Xu Yun grinned. ”It’s exactly what you’re thinking right now.”

”Get lost! Shameless!”

Hearing this, Lin Suiling, flushed with anger and embarrassment, grabbed a Hermes throw pillow from the sofa and hurled it at Xu Yun.

”This is expensive, be careful.”

Xu Yun caught it, set it aside, and then left with a smile, closing the door behind him.

As he left, with Xu Yun no longer there, an inexplicable and beautiful smile spread across Lin Suiling’s face.

’No matter what happens in the future, for now, she quite liked this unconventional way she had of getting along with Xu Yun.’
