Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Gao Xing walked over and struck up a conversation, using the pretense of offering her a ride. He simply wanted to know what Dong Hongping had discussed with her.

Jian Shiwai didn’t beat around the bush. She looked right at him and said, ”President Dong said she wants to transfer me to the main branch.”

”That’s a good thing.”

Gao Xing smiled. ”Getting promoted to the main branch at your age is incredible. Well, congratulations in advance.”

”I haven’t agreed yet. I’m still considering it.”

Jian Shiwai smiled and asked in return, ”Gao Xing, do you think I should go?”

”Young people like you should get out there and make your mark. Your future will be limitless.”

Gao Xing replied, ”It’s not like me. I’m getting on in years. All I can do is contribute what I can from down here and just get by.”

What he said wasn’t wrong.

His age was a clear factor. It was nearly impossible for him to climb any higher, so what he really wanted was a branch office that he could completely control.

But now, thanks to Xu Yun, Jian Shiwai’s authority at the bank was a check on his power.

Once Jian Shiwai was transferred, he would be able to seize full control and would also inherit Xu Yun, the super-client.

”That does make some sense. I understand now. Thanks for the advice, Gao Xing.”

Jian Shiwai listened, sneering inwardly.

’You have no idea, do you, Gao Xing? The top two people at the main branch have already set their sights on Xu Yun. They want to use him as a political stepping stone to climb higher.’

’So even if I can’t have him, it’s not going to be your turn.’

”You’re welcome.”

Gao Xing smiled. ”I see you didn’t drive today. Do you want me to give you a ride?”

”No, thanks. I’m going to see Xu Yun in a bit.”

Jian Shiwai rejected Gao Xing’s insincere offer and took a taxi home alone.

The empty house suddenly felt strange to her.

The alcohol had invisibly magnified her emotions and desires.

And once it began, there was no stopping it!

Sitting on the living room sofa, she took out her phone and scrolled through her contacts, finally stopping when she saw Xu Yun’s name.

She stared at it blankly for ten seconds before dialing his number.

”Hello, President Xu.”

Jian Shiwai asked with a smile, ”Are you free right now?”

”I am, what’s up?”

”I was hoping you’d join me for a drink.”

Jian Shiwai asked, ”Where are you? Can you come to my place?”

Xu Yun, who had just dropped off Ou Jingya and was about to head home, listened to the slightly tipsy woman on the phone and said, ”Alright. Give me ten minutes.”

He checked his current location and saw he wasn’t far from her.

A moment later, Xu Yun arrived at Jian Shiwai’s apartment. He keyed in the passcode, opened the door, and stepped inside.

The lights in the room were very dim, but the air was filled with a faint scent of rosemary.

Soft, romantic music was playing.

Xu Yun was somewhat surprised by the sight before him: the exquisite Jian Shiwai, standing by the window in a sexy negligee, holding a glass of red wine with a melancholic look on her face.

He walked over and said with a smile, ”This seems a little premeditated.”

”Not at all. It was a spur-of-the-moment thing.”

Jian Shiwai turned, brought the glass to Xu Yun’s lips so he could drink the last of the wine, and then set it down on the windowsill.

Then, she wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes hazy. ”I just... suddenly started missing you,” she murmured. ”And I suddenly didn’t want to spend this long night all by myself.”

”Manager Jian, you’re drunk.”

”Good. If I’m drunk, then you’re all mine.”

Jian Shiwai gently rested her head against Xu Yun’s chest and whispered, ”President Xu, I know this might be wishful thinking, but I just can’t stop thinking about you.

I don’t want to just be your financial advisor. I want to be your woman, too, just like the others you have.”

”We’ve already slept together. Aren’t you my woman already?”

Xu Yun lowered his head to kiss her. ”You’re drunk. Don’t overthink things. I’ll take you to the bedroom to get some rest.”

”I don’t want to go.”

Jian Shiwai said stubbornly, ”I’m not going anywhere. I want to stay right here.”

”Alright, then. Whatever you say.”

...

「The next morning.」

Jian Shiwai woke up in the bedroom with a slight headache.

She looked at the man sleeping beside her and recalled her wild abandon from the night before, her face flushing bright red with embarrassment.

’I can’t believe I’m that kind of woman.’

’Especially the things I said... I definitely crossed a line.’

She had been drunk, but not black-out drunk.

So she remembered many of the details, and the things she had said.

Jian Shiwai looked at the man still sleeping soundly beside her. She got up as quietly as she could, grabbing her clothes and preparing to dress and slip away.

But as soon as she moved to get up, an arm shot out and pulled her back down.

Xu Yun looked at her and asked with a smile, ”Where are you off to so early? Why not sleep in a little?”

”It’s already 9 AM.”

Jian Shiwai explained, ”I have to get to the bank, or I’ll be marked as absent.”

”You’re a vice president now, you still have to punch a clock?”

”Well, no, not exactly.”

Jian Shiwai said, a little bashfully, ”President Xu, I’m sorry... I drank too much last night, so...”

”You certainly did drink a lot last night. You were much more uninhibited than before. A lot more forward, too.”

Xu Yun thought for a moment, then said, ”You also told me a lot of things that were on your mind. If you hadn’t, I never would have known you had so much going on in that head of yours.”

”???”

Jian Shiwai remembered saying a few things, but she didn’t recall saying *that* much. Her confidence wavered. ”President Xu... what exactly did I say to you...?”

”You told me not to abandon you, that you’d be a good girl and listen to me.”

Jian Shiwai: ”...”

”You also threatened me. You said you were going to be my financial advisor for life and that I wasn’t allowed to replace you, or you’d make me regret it.”

Jian Shiwai: ”...”

”You also said you don’t need any official title, that just being with me was enough.”

”President Xu, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”

Jian Shiwai immediately rushed to explain, ”Last night... I don’t even know why I drank so much and got so drunk. Everything I said was just nonsense from the alcohol. Please don’t mind it, and don’t take any of it to heart.”
