Super Rich by Doing as You Please

After Gu Heng left.

Xu Yun walked over to Su Mu and asked with concern, ”Have things with your family really reached a boiling point?”

”Yeah.” Su Mu didn’t deny it.

”Is it because I beat up that good-for-nothing brother of yours at the court last time?”

”Not entirely.”

Su Mu replied with a smile, ”The conflict between me and his mother was bound to happen sooner or later. This just moved the timeline up a bit.”

”So it is because of me.”

Su Mu said, ”Don’t worry about it. I can handle it myself.”

”You’re my woman. If I don’t take care of it, who will?”

Exuding chauvinism, Xu Yun said irritably, ”Just do what I said. From now on, hold on tight to your shares, wait for the company to go public, and leave the rest to me.”

”...” Su Mu was speechless.

Xu Yun pulled her into his arms.

He lowered his head, gave her a quick kiss, and asked with a smile, ”So, Sister Su, how’s this? Do I look like one of those domineering CEOs from a TV show?”

”Not really.”

Su Mu couldn’t help but giggle. ”More like a nouveau riche.”

”Er...”

”But as long as I like it, that’s all that matters.”

After saying this, Su Mu took the initiative and kissed him again.

The way Xu Yun had just stood up for her had genuinely touched her heart.

’Seriously? Kissing is one thing, but now your hands are starting to wander?’

’Do you have to be so forward?’

”Sister Su, we’re in your office.”

Xu Yun was a little surprised. He grabbed her hand and reminded her pointedly, ”Your employees are still downstairs. Be careful, or someone might see.”

”It’s not like you haven’t done this in my office before!”

Su Mu was already getting aroused, her eyes hazy. ”Stop pretending. I know how excited you must be right now.”

”But I’ve turned over a new leaf.”

”Then for me, just be bad one more time.”

Xu Yun: ”...”

’Can’t be helped. A lady’s wish is my command!’

Still, this was an office, so they couldn’t go wild for too long.

After one pleasant and deep exchange, the two concluded their conversation for the day.

Back at her desk, Su Mu composed herself, trying to make sure no one would notice anything was amiss later.

Xu Yun, who had already straightened himself up, received a text message from his bank.

It was Jian Shiwai, settling the final payment for the private jet.

She had sent a total of 330 million.

His current account balance was 720 million.

Xu Yun just glanced at it and moved on.

He said to Su Mu, ”Over the next few days, hire a new receptionist to replace Ning Qian.”

”What’s wrong?”

Hearing this, Su Mu asked in confusion, ”Why the sudden decision to replace her?”

”She’s been here long enough. It’s time to make room for someone else.”

Xu Yun said this with a smile, then got up, opened the door, and left.

The employees downstairs gave Xu Yun strange looks as he came down after having been upstairs for over an hour.

’What could a man and a woman possibly talk about alone in an office for so long?’

However, the company’s veteran employees knew that Xu Yun was the real ”emperor emeritus” of the company, so they didn’t dare gossip about their boss’s private life.

After all, a company with such good benefits was a rare find.

If they got fired for gossiping, they’d have nowhere to go to cry about it.

When Ning Qian at the front desk saw him approach, she immediately stood up, looking like she had done something wrong.

Seeing her looking dejected, Xu Yun said, ”I just told Su Mu that you’re done with the receptionist job here. Once you’ve completed the resignation procedures, go home and rest for a few days. Wait for my call.”

He’d actually had a plan for Ning Qian for a while now, but there just hadn’t been a suitable opportunity.

She was, after all, the first woman to be with him. Leaving her at Su Mu’s company as a receptionist wasn’t appropriate. She needed a better, more independent position.

’When Fu Baoying gets here, I’ll discuss it with her. Maybe we can buy a shopping mall and let Ning Qian try her hand at managing it!’

”...”

Misunderstanding his intentions, Ning Qian’s heart sank to the depths.

’So, what was bound to happen has finally happened.’

”What’s wrong?”

Xu Yun smiled and asked, ”Judging by your expression, you’re not happy about it?”

”No.”

Ning Qian forced a smile. ”I understand, President Xu.”

Not long after Xu Yun left, Ning Qian was called into Su Mu’s office.

”President Su.”

Ning Qian stood before Su Mu and said, ”You were looking for me?”

Although she called her Sister Su in private, she still used her official title during work hours.

Su Mu looked at her, hesitated for a moment, then asked, ”Did Xu Yun talk to you when he left just now?”

”He did.”

Ning Qian took a deep breath, looked up, and said with a smile, ”Don’t worry, President Su. I’ll try to get the resignation paperwork done today so I don’t put you in a difficult position.”

”Honestly, I didn’t expect this to be the outcome.”

Su Mu said guiltily, ”Jinshu was the one who instigated this. On her behalf, I’m sorry.”

”It’s okay. This day was bound to come sooner or later anyway.”

Ning Qian forced another smile. ”I just didn’t expect it to be so soon. I’ll be fine in a day or two.”

”He has too many women around him. Maybe leaving isn’t a bad thing for you.”

Su Mu comforted her, ”Don’t worry. I’ll have the finance department give you an extra compensation package of several hundred thousand. You can find a good man and live your own life.”

”Thank you, President Su.”

Ning Qian didn’t pretend to be above it all and refuse the money.

From the beginning, she had been with Xu Yun for the money and for a better life.

She said, ”I’ll go handle the paperwork then. The car I’ve been driving... I’ll leave it at the company. Could I trouble you to return it to President Xu for me?”

”Okay.”

As for Ning Qian’s red Porsche, Su Mu didn’t dare make a decision on Xu Yun’s behalf.

Watching Ning Qian’s lonely figure as she walked out, Su Mu was suddenly struck by a thought.

’Will this be my fate in the future, too?’
