Super Rich by Doing as You Please

With Su Mu’s help, Ning Qian managed to successfully get through her first day.

From here on out, she would have to handle things on her own.

In reality, there wasn’t too much for her to do. She just needed to clock in and out on time every day and quickly familiarize herself with the company’s departments and staff. The handover with the government and the project launch weren’t urgent matters that needed to be resolved in a day or two.

There was still a lot of prep work and paperwork to handle in the initial phase.

Ning Qian was also waiting for her reinforcements to arrive.

On the surface, she was in charge of the company, but the one truly managing and controlling it was a woman named Fu Baoying.

At first, Ning Qian didn’t know who this woman was. But when she found out that Fu Baoying was the general manager of a Hong Kong Island investment firm with assets in the tens of billions, she was completely floored.

This was a major player, a woman even more formidable than Su Mu.

Just as some managers from the original company were thinking they had safely weathered the storm or could secure their positions in the new company, Fu Baoying moved with astonishing speed.

On the third day, two well-known professional managers from the industry were dispatched to assist her.

They were all senior management talent that Fu Baoying had poached from large real estate corporations at a high price. With their extensive work experience, they could help Ning Qian quickly and effectively gain complete control of the company.

Then, they could begin the project’s construction.

With the help of her two capable assistants, Ning Qian swiftly implemented a personnel overhaul, downsizing the previously bloated organization by a third.

Those who were let go were primarily relatives of the previous management, people in redundant positions, and old-timers who were just coasting.

The company followed all standard compensation procedures in accordance with labor laws.

Not only that, but they also provided an additional severance bonus.

Faced with such generosity from the new owners, there wasn’t much resistance, and the process went smoothly.

As for the remaining employees, Ning Qian followed Xu Yun’s suggestion and implemented a new salary adjustment policy.

Thanks to the savings from the downsizing, the remaining staff—especially those at the junior and mid-levels—would see a raise in their salaries and benefits across the board.

This policy won the overwhelming support of the employees, and morale skyrocketed.

From that point on, Ning Qian finally established a firm foothold in the company, wielding the power and authority befitting her position.

With the first injection of capital from Fu Baoying, construction on the stalled project in the South City District gradually began to resume.

Although the project required a total investment of two billion, the full amount wasn’t needed upfront. Instead, it would be paid out in successive phases.

Therefore, the funds from Fu Baoying’s investment company wouldn’t be a lump sum but would be transferred in installments, phase by phase.

After all, she only had about ten billion on hand, and with so many other investment projects, her actual cash reserves weren’t as large as one might think.

Moreover, she needed to set aside a portion as an emergency reserve fund to handle any unforeseen corporate crises.

Xu Yun knew Ning Qian was busy this week, so he hadn’t disturbed her since that night.

Instead, he spent his days taking Xino out and about.

This time around, Xino felt like she’d hit the jackpot.

It was usually hard for her to see Xu Yun, as he was always occupied with other women.

But now, he was spending every day with her.

During the day, they would go shopping and eat delicious food, and at night... well.

Every time she got home, even her mother, who was oblivious to the situation, would comment that her skin had become inexplicably more radiant lately.

However, this also brought a small worry for Xino.

They were only focused on having fun and didn’t use any protection. Coupled with how often they were together, she was terrified she might accidentally get pregnant with Xu Yun’s baby.

She’d already had one scare before.

But she didn’t want to take any pills, believing they were bad for her health.

She had even tried to indirectly sound Xu Yun out by mentioning Xu Xiaozhi, but it seemed like he didn’t really want a baby yet.

In the end, all she could do was pray to God that she would be okay.

On this topic, Xu Yun himself was also feeling a little puzzled and confused.

He had so many women, and the number of times they’d tried to ”make a baby” was practically countless. But strangely, even without any protection, he’d never once gotten anyone pregnant.

At first, he thought they were all taking pills behind his back.

But when he curiously asked a few of them, he discovered they only occasionally took something during their fertile window, and not at all otherwise.

That just didn’t make sense.

Xu Yun suddenly grew worried about his own body and secretly went to a hospital for a fertility test.

But the results showed there was nothing wrong with him at all.

’If there’s nothing wrong with me, then why can’t any of the women get pregnant?’

’Could it be that they *all* have a problem?’

’I could understand one of them having issues, but all of them? No way.’

’So the problem had to be with me.’

’When I didn’t want kids, this Skill felt invincible. But if I ever decide I want kids in the future, this passive Skill is going to be a real pain in the ass.’

In the end, Xu Yun could only attribute it to the system, or perhaps to the Eight Pieces of Brocade he practiced.

To confirm his suspicion, he spent twenty million to buy the information from the system and finally learned the truth.

It turned out that practicing the system-modified version of the Eight Pieces of Brocade, while making him ”mighty and unyielding,” also caused his ”little swimmers” to lose their viability, rendering them unable to create life.

Restoring his fertility was actually quite simple.

He just had to stop practicing for a while, and his ”little swimmers” would return to normal, allowing him to conceive a child with a woman.

Xu Yun couldn’t have been more thrilled with this information.

’Who would’ve thought the Eight Pieces of Brocade had such a side effect!’
