Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The BBQ place wasn’t very far from the school.

Just as Ou Jingya had said, it was a very ordinary restaurant. It wasn’t expensive—an all-you-can-eat buffet for 60 yuan per person.

The customers were mostly students from Jiang University.

Xu Yun and Ou Jingya went to get some food. The meat selection was mainly various cuts of seasoned beef and pork belly, and there were also some vegetables like lettuce, shiitake mushrooms, and green peppers.

To be honest, Xu Yun wasn’t a big fan of this kind of BBQ, especially the type where you had to grill the meat yourself.

He really wasn’t very good at it, and whatever he grilled never tasted great.

So, from the very beginning, Xu Yun admitted his incompetence and decided to just be along for the ride, leaving all the work to Ou Jingya.

He ate whatever Ou Jingya grilled. His main contribution was not being a picky eater.

Ou Jingya asked, ”How’s the food?”

”Your skills are impressive.”

As he spoke, Xu Yun wrapped a piece of pork belly dipped in spicy sauce with a lettuce leaf, stuffed the whole thing into his mouth, and savored it with a look of pure bliss.

”Slow down.”

Seeing this, Ou Jingya passed him his water and couldn’t help but laugh. ”No one’s fighting you for it. Be careful not to choke. Here, have some water.”

「A moment later.」

”BURP~”

After finishing the meal, Xu Yun chugged some sparkling water, let out a loud burp, and said with satisfaction, ”Ahh, that hit the spot!”

”Senior, you really don’t care about your image in front of women at all, do you?”

”I’m not trying to make you my girlfriend, so why should I care?”

Xu Yun laughed and replied, ”Of course I’m going to do whatever’s comfortable. My motto is to Do as You Please.”

”So you’re saying you wouldn’t act like this in front of someone you like?”

”Nope, I’d be exactly the same.”

Xu Yun said, ”If you can’t even show your true self to the person you like, isn’t that just deceiving them?”

”...” Ou Jingya was speechless.

’So, whether it’s in front of someone he likes or dislikes, he’s always just himself.’ She found herself admiring his attitude toward life.

Xu Yun teased, ”There aren’t any students here who know you, are there? Wouldn’t want you to lose face by being seen on a date with such a crude guy, right?”

”Don’t worry, none of my students are here.”

The words had barely left Ou Jingya’s mouth when she suddenly heard someone call her from the next table.

”Teacher Ou, you’re here for BBQ too?”

”...”

Hearing that, Ou Jingya shot Xu Yun an embarrassed glance.

Then she turned to the students and smiled. ”Oh, yes. You all came here today too.”

”Yeah.”

The female students replied with a smile, ”We didn’t have a study session tonight, and we heard the BBQ here was delicious, so we came. We never expected to run into you, Teacher Ou.”

”The food here really is quite good.”

Ou Jingya said, ”You can just leave after you’re done eating. It’s my treat tonight.”

”Oh no, we couldn’t. We’ll pay for ourselves.”

”Nonsense. Is your monthly allowance even enough for yourselves? Every little bit you can save helps.”

Ou Jingya said, ”Consider this a little bribe from your teacher. I just hope you won’t skip my classes in the future.”

”Haha, we promise we’ll never skip Teacher Ou’s class!”

The girls then asked with a laugh, ”Teacher Ou, is the handsome guy across from you your boyfriend?”

”Not yet.”

Xu Yun interjected, smiling at them. ”Your Teacher Ou is a tough one to court. How about you help put in a good word for me?”

”Okay, okay! So how are you going to bribe us?”

The girls giggled. ”If your bribe is good enough, we’ll whisper sweet nothings in her ear for you every day. We’ll make sure you have an edge over the other teachers.”

”Other teachers?”

Xu Yun asked curiously, ”Does your Teacher Ou have a lot of male teachers admiring her at school?”

”Yeah, a ton of them.”

”Don’t be fooled by him, he’s just making things up!”

Ou Jingya shot Xu Yun a glare, a mix of embarrassment and anger, and quickly jumped in to interrupt. ”We’re just friends! He’s not pursuing me at all. But he’s also a Jiang University graduate, so I guess that makes him your senior.”

”Hi, Senior!” the girls shouted in unison.

”Hello, Juniors.”

Xu Yun chuckled. ”You’re not going to call me ’Senior’ for nothing. Today’s meal is on me.”

”Hey Senior, we’re from Jiang University too!”

Some other male students from Jiang University nearby chimed in jokingly, ”Don’t you only have eyes for the pretty female juniors, Senior? What about us ugly male juniors?”

”Alright, alright. Ganging up on me, are we?”

Xu Yun said generously, ”It’s not impossible for me to treat you all. All you have to do is wish Teacher Ou a ’Happy Birthday,’ and add a blessing. The only catch is, none of the blessings can be repeated.”

”That’s easy! I’ll go first.”

An extroverted guy shouted, ”Teacher Ou, happy birthday! I hope you get more and more beautiful!”

With one person taking the lead, the others quickly followed suit.

”Teacher Ou, happy birthday! I hope you’re happy every day!”

”Teacher Ou, happy birthday! I wish you all the best!”

”...”

There were quite a few people, and since they couldn’t repeat wishes, the students who went later started running out of things to say.

The last student, desperate for the free buffet, struggled for a long time before finally blurting out, ”Teacher Ou, happy birthday! I hope you have a beautiful baby soon!”

”Uh...”

Ou Jingya gave a helpless laugh. ”To that student, I really have to thank you, but I don’t even have a boyfriend yet.”

”It’s bound to happen sooner or later, Teacher.”

The student quickly tried to justify his wish. ”How about with our Senior? He seems like a great guy. And your kids would definitely be good-looking.”

”Hahaha...”

His words instantly made everyone burst into laughter.

Xu Yun laughed and gave him a thumbs-up.

’This junior’s really got a bright future ahead of him.’
