Super Rich by Doing as You Please

”My legs will give out?”

Lin Suiling couldn’t help but laugh. ”I’m going to take you shopping with me until your legs give out and you’re begging for mercy.”

”Not a chance.”

Xu Yun said dismissively, ”With my physique, I can run fifty kilometers without even getting winded.”

”We’ll see about that.”

That afternoon, Xu Yun accompanied Lin Suiling as they hit up several different malls.

Lin Suiling was truly determined to wear out Xu Yun’s legs with shopping.

They went into every single store, only browsing and never buying. It left the salespeople incredibly frustrated. If not for the couple’s expensive clothes and refined air, which suggested they could afford the merchandise, the staff would have been cursing them out in their heads.

And as for the shopping itself...

Strangely enough...

It felt to Xu Yun like he had only been following Lin Suiling for a little while, but after just two malls, his legs already felt as if they were filled with lead.

In every store, he immediately looked for a place to sit and rest.

Luckily, she was only browsing luxury shops, where the service was excellent. They were offered water and snacks whenever they took a break.

The only downside was that when they left without buying anything, the staff would see them off with looks of bitter resentment.

”So? How are you holding up?”

Lin Suiling looked at Xu Yun, the light almost gone from his eyes, and asked with a smile, ”Can you still keep going? If you can’t, just say the word, and we can stop shopping.”

”We keep going. I’m not tired at all.”

”Tch. Men are so stubborn.”

”You’re wrong about that.”

Xu Yun said meaningfully, ”A man’s hardest part isn’t his mouth, but somewhere else.”

”What part?”

”You’ve already experienced it once, haven’t you? You should know.”

Lin Suiling: ”...”

When she realized what he meant, she scoffed, her face turning red.

”Heh. See? You agree with me.”

After a chuckle, Xu Yun added, ”Miss Lin, it’s fine to keep shopping, but could I make a tiny suggestion?”

”What is it?”

”Do you really have to just browse without buying anything every single time?”

Xu Yun said, ”Every time we go into a store, I’m sitting there with free food and drinks, and I feel too awkward when we leave.”

”If I buy something, will you carry it for me?”

”No way.”

”Well, I’m not an idiot. It’s exhausting to buy things and have to carry them myself.”

Lin Suiling said smugly, ”Isn’t it so much better to shop empty-handed like this?”

Xu Yun was speechless.

’What a vicious woman!’

Just as Lin Suiling was getting ready to continue shopping and tormenting Xu Yun, his phone rang.

Xu Yun looked at the unfamiliar number and answered.

”Hello, is this President Xu Yun?”

”This is he. Who’s this?”

”This is Dong Hongping, a manager at Jiangcheng Construction Bank.”

A woman’s polite, smiling voice came through the phone. ”I know this call is rather sudden, but I was hoping to ask if you’re free this evening, President Xu. I’d like to treat you to dinner.”

Dong Hongping. Xu Yun had heard that name last night, while he was in Jian Shiwai’s bed.

”I’m free, yes.”

Xu Yun glanced at Lin Suiling beside him and asked, ”Would it be all right if I brought someone with me?”

”Oh, of course.”

Dong Hongping chuckled. ”Any friend of President Xu is an honored guest of mine. I’d be delighted to have them.”

”Alright, then. Just send me the address once you have everything arranged.”

”Excellent, President Xu. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the arrival of you and your friend.”

Lin Suiling stood to the side and asked curiously, ”Something came up?”

”I just got invited to dinner.”

Xu Yun grinned. ”Looks like we don’t have to pay for dinner tonight. I’ll take you along to freeload.”

Lin Suiling was speechless.

Back in her office, the moment Dong Hongping hung up with Xu Yun, she immediately called the sales department.

She said, ”Pick one more person. Have them wait for me in the car downstairs in ten minutes.”

”Yes, Manager Dong.”

A short while later, after freshening up in her office, Dong Hongping appeared downstairs.

A black company sedan was already waiting for her.

After getting in, she glanced at the two pretty, young female bank employees already in the car, nodded in satisfaction, and said to her driver, ”Let’s go. To Crane Garden.”

Among the publicly-known restaurants in Jiangcheng, it was one of the best available.

It was newly built, and for most people, it was considered quite high-end.

Of course, that’s not including the exclusive, members-only establishments.

As the hosts, Dong Hongping and her party naturally arrived first.

Their private room upstairs had already been booked.

The manager of the restaurant knew Dong Hongping well, as they had a long-standing business relationship.

The bank always chose this restaurant whenever they needed to entertain important clients.

And naturally, they paid a corporate rate.

”Manager He, is everything ready?”

Dong Hongping reminded him, ”Today’s guest is no ordinary person. Please be meticulous with the food.”

”I understand. We’re already preparing everything to the highest standard.”

Manager He asked, puzzled, ”If you don’t mind my asking, President Dong, who are you inviting today that requires such special attention?”

”The man with the biggest cash flow in Jiangcheng. One of the bank’s top-tier clients.”

Dong Hongping said, ”So, for the servers you assign to us, please pick a few of your sharpest.”

”Of course, no problem. In fact, I’ll personally be serving you to ensure everything is perfect.”

Manager He glanced at the two exceptionally young and beautiful female subordinates behind her before opening the door. ”Well then, President Dong, please make yourselves comfortable in the room. I’ll go check on the kitchen.”

”Yes, go on. And have the dishes sent up quickly.”

After Manager He left, Dong Hongping turned to her two subordinates. ”Your supervisor already briefed you on today’s assignment, correct?”

”He gave us a brief overview.”

”Good. Then make sure you’re on your best behavior later. Be enthusiastic.”

Dong Hongping said, ”This is a huge opportunity for you both. If you can successfully complete this assignment and help me land this client, I’ll double your year-end bonuses and have you transferred to the investment department.”
