Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Because her public role was a bit sensitive.

Xu Yun had only communicated with the city leaders over the phone; the actual coordination was handled by their subordinates.

According to the leaders, for various reasons, the government would hold a large-scale, on-site signing ceremony and have the media report on it extensively.

Xu Yun, naturally, had no desire to attend such a high-profile event.

Thus, Ning Qian, as the company’s legal representative and general manager, attended the signing ceremony with the government leaders on the company’s behalf.

On the day of the signing ceremony, Ning Qian was incredibly nervous.

She wore the expensive business suit and high heels that Xu Yun had prepared for her. On stage, under the watchful eyes of various official media outlets, she completed the signing ceremony and shook hands with the department-level leader in front of her.

Below the stage, camera flashes went off nonstop.

Ning Qian could never have imagined herself in such a grand situation before.

However, when she saw Xu Yun sitting in the audience, her nervous heart gradually began to calm down.

’As long as he’s here,’ she thought, ’I’m not afraid of anything.’

At that moment, the two true masterminds sitting in the audience, Xu Yun and the city leader, also shook hands privately.

”Xu Yun, thank you for your help with this.”

”You’re too kind, sir.”

Xu Yun said with feigned sadness, ”Still, I hope the government won’t let a good man like me go bankrupt over this. This is all I have to my name.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, the System’s reward notification sounded.

[Faced with a stalled real estate project that was a headache for the government, the Host chose to Do as You Please by taking over the project for the government, benefiting society and accumulating immense merit. Reward: 6 billion in cash.]

[Bank Account Balance: 10.02 billion]

’Holy crap! A single random act of kindness, and the System actually rewarded me with six billion!’

’In other words, I now have ten billion in cash deposits.’

Xu Yun was genuinely moved this time.

’Is this what it feels like to have a net worth in the tens of billions?’

Seeing Xu Yun’s strange expression, the city leader thought he was agonizing over his money.

He said comfortingly, ”Don’t worry. I’ll do my best to help you recover some of your costs and compensate you in other ways.”

”Then I’ll have to thank you, sir.”

At this point, Xu Yun truly wasn’t concerned about the two-billion investment at all. He was a ten-billionaire now, after all.

’Speaking of which, with this much wealth, I should be able to make it onto the rich list, right?’

But he wasn’t a public figure, so no one would pay attention to him.

And he had no intention of letting anyone notice his existence.

The main thing was to keep a low profile!

Besides, who knew how many hidden tycoons there were in his country.

The truly wealthy big shots were never on the rich lists.

After the signing ceremony ended, the two parties didn’t hold a reception and went their separate ways.

In another location, Xu Yun met with Fu Baoying, the biggest contributor to this success. ”You worked hard on this,” he said.

”How could I not have?”

Fu Baoying said irritably, her tone full of innuendo, ”I’m busy with your affairs during the day, and I’m busy with your ’affairs’ at night. You never let me rest.”

”You say that as if you’re the one being wronged.”

Xu Yun retorted with a smile, ”From what I can see, you’re having a lot more fun than I am every night.”

”...”

Fu Baoying blushed slightly, then said, ”Now that this is settled for the time being, I plan to head back tonight.”

”In such a hurry?”

”Do you think I’m as idle as you, the hands-off boss?”

Fu Baoying replied, ”I have a pile of work waiting for me back at my company. I’ve already been delayed for several days because of you.”

”Alright, I’ll have someone see you off.”

”Can’t you take Xiaozhi and me yourself?”

Xu Yun chuckled. ”I’d love to, but I don’t know how to fly a plane.”

”???” Fu Baoying was speechless.

As it turned out, Xu Yun meant he would send them back on his private jet.

Although he hadn’t found a full-time pilot yet, that didn’t stop him from hiring one temporarily at the airport for the day.

Fu Baoying wasn’t the least bit surprised that Xu Yun owned a private jet.

’After all,’ she thought, ’it would be stranger if a man who could casually invest five billion to start a company for me *didn’t* have a private jet!’

「7:00 PM, at the airport.」

Xu Xiaozhi was finally reunited with Fu Baoying.

She’d had a lot of fun over the past few days and had acquired many new gifts.

Xu Yun personally saw them onto the plane and only turned to leave after watching it take off into the sky.

Tonight, it was Ning Qian’s turn.

「Aboard the plane.」

As Xu Yun’s flight attendant, this was Wang Qing’s first assignment since completing her training, and she had mixed feelings.

Because just now at the airport, she had learned a fact she found hard to accept.

This private jet actually belonged to Xu Yun.

In other words, Xu Yun was her boss.

The person she would be serving on the plane from now on was Xu Yun.

However, right now she was more curious about the identities of the mother and daughter before her, who warranted being chauffeured by Xu Yun’s private jet.

Fu Baoying didn’t know about the relationship between the flight attendant next to her and Xu Yun, nor did she care.

She looked at the many toys beside Xu Xiaozhi and asked curiously, ”Xiaozhi, which ’auntie’ gave you all these gifts?”

”It wasn’t just one ’auntie’; many ’aunties’ gave them to me.”

Xu Xiaozhi said happily, ”Each ’auntie’ gave me one.”

”Er...”

Fu Baoying knew perfectly well that Xiaozhi had been whisked away by Xu Yun’s other women these past few days.

She counted the gifts, and the corner of her mouth twitched.

There were seven gifts in total.

’In other words, besides me, he has at least seven other women, conservatively speaking!’

Fu Baoying had known Xu Yun had many women around him, but she hadn’t expected there to be so many.

She let out a sigh.

’I don’t know if choosing to be with him back then was the right decision or the wrong one!’

...

「The next day.」

The signing ceremony was heavily reported on by various media outlets.

The suddenly-emerged Cloud Real Estate Company and its young, beautiful general manager, Ning Qian, were thrust into the public eye, becoming famous figures overnight.

For the people who had bought presale homes that were part of the stalled project and were left without a place to live, this news was naturally a cause for joyous celebration.

Online, the government’s actions were lavishly praised.

As for everyone else...

Following investigations by certain interested parties in Jiangcheng, it was discovered that this Cloud Real Estate Company was actually a shell company. Its predecessor was a local company that had not been doing well financially.

At the same time, people also discovered that the company’s name, ”Cloud,” was unexpectedly the same as the ”Cloud” charity organization that had previously gone viral online.

Not only that, but they also dug up the fact that there was a media company in the city called Baiyun Media Co., Ltd.

They all had one thing in common.

They had all emerged in the last few months, and the people in charge of these companies and organizations were all young, beautiful women!

This led people’s imaginations to run wild.

Everyone began to speculate about which new power had just forced its way into Jiangcheng.

Her former colleagues and friends, in particular, were stunned and couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Ning Qian on the news!

They all sent messages asking her about it.

But Ning Qian had neither the time nor the mood to answer their questions right now.

As the one who had been most in the spotlight during this event, she was currently feeling anxious.

Because today, she was about to start work at her company and meet her elite subordinates.

Xu Yun saw this and understood.

There’s an adjustment period for everything.

So, he had Su Mu accompany Ning Qian to back her up and ensure she wouldn’t be looked down upon by her new subordinates.

Su Mu agreed.

The two of them drove Xu Yun’s black G-Wagon to the new company’s offices.

To mark the new boss’s arrival, the company’s department managers, eager to make a good impression, had jointly organized a grand welcome ceremony with all the employees.

Su Mu gave Ning Qian a look, and the two walked naturally into the office building, step by step, amidst everyone’s applause.

They ignored everyone, leaving only a single sentence in their wake: ”All mid-level management and above, please come to the conference room for a meeting.”

”...”

This made the managers exchange glances, their hearts sinking.

’It’s over,’ they thought. ’Is the new boss going to make an example of someone today?’

As the saying goes, ”a new emperor brings his own court.” As old-timers holding important positions, they were very worried they would be purged!

After the crowd was dismissed, the managers and mid-level supervisors made their way to the conference room with apprehensive hearts.

Looking at the 20 to 30 people below, Ning Qian sat at the head of the table, thinking about what Su Mu had told her on the way there.

’When you take over a new company, you don’t need to do too much.’

’You just need to stabilize the company and keep it running.’

’First, reassure everyone and ease the anxiety caused by the acquisition. Promise that you won’t make any rash personnel changes.’

’Second, announce your own set of ”rules.”’

’Third, motivate the mid-level managers. Show them opportunities for future promotion, get them excited, and make them genuinely want to work for you.’

Thinking of this, Ning Qian took a deep breath and said in a cool voice, ”Good morning, everyone. First, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ning Qian, and I am the new general manager of this company...”
