Super Rich by Doing as You Please

What kind of card was that? It actually gave her a 40% discount!

Dumbfounded, she paid, left the address for the in-home installation, and then followed Xu Yun out.

On the way, Ou Jingya came to her senses and asked in surprise, ”Senior, don’t tell me you invested in this supermarket?”

”No.”

Xu Yun smiled and replied, ”But a friend’s family owns it. He’s the one who got me the membership card. I didn’t realize the discount was so good.”

Ou Jingya was speechless.

’I wish I had a friend like that. It would save so much money.’

After buying the appliances and paying, it was already past 5 p.m. when they came out.

Ou Jingya asked, ”By the way, Senior, did you drive? If not, I’ll just call an Uber.”

”I did.”

”Haha, I knew someone of your status wouldn’t go out without driving.”

Ou Jingya said, ”In that case, could you drop me off at the school first? I have to take care of something, and then we can go get barbecue together.”

”Can a senior say no to his junior?”

”I guess not.”

Ou Jingya smiled. ”But I can pay you for the ride.”

”That, I can accept.”

The two of them chatted and laughed as they made their way to the mall’s parking garage.

’Ou Jingya was a little curious. She wondered what kind of luxury car Xu Yun would drive.’

’A Mercedes, a BMW, a Porsche, or maybe a Bentley?’

She didn’t think he’d drive a sports car like a Lamborghini, given his temperament and personality.

But when Xu Yun led her to a supercar, she froze completely.

”This car is yours?”

”Whose else would it be?”

Xu Yun opened the car door for her and smiled. ”Get in, let’s go. Time for a people’s teacher like you to get a taste of money.”

”I’ve really never been in a supercar before.”

After getting in the car, Ou Jingya asked in confusion, ”I don’t think I’ve ever seen a car like this on the street. What brand is it?”

”Of course you haven’t seen it on the street.”

Xu Yun smiled and explained, ”This is the Aston Martin Valkyrie hybrid model. It’s basically a racing-grade supercar. It’s a limited edition of 20 worldwide, and this is the only one in the country.”

Ou Jingya was astonished. ”So rare? It must be incredibly expensive, right?”

”Around 30 million.”

Ou Jingya was utterly dumbfounded.

Thirty million!!!

The house she lived in was worth less than 2 million right now. In other words, this car could buy fifteen houses like hers.

She had never met or been around anyone this wealthy before, so the shock was quite significant.

Many people work their whole lives, slaving away on a mortgage, just to afford one house.

But for people like Xu Yun, a single car was worth enough for an ordinary person to live on for several lifetimes.

Ou Jingya joked, ”Senior, you’re a real big-shot capitalist.”

”Are you insulting me now?”

Xu Yun shot her a look and said, ”That ’big-shot capitalist’ just saved you over 20,000 yuan! That ’big-shot capitalist’ also founded a scholarship at your school for underprivileged students, free of charge.”

”Then you’re a big-shot capitalist with a conscience.”

”Wow, thanks a lot.”

Xu Yun’s car was incredibly flashy and a head-turner wherever it went.

They were stopped by the gate guard when entering the school, as outside vehicles weren’t allowed on campus. They only got in after Ou Jingya explained the situation.

Downstairs from one of the academic buildings, a colleague happened to see Ou Jingya getting out of the car.

When she went upstairs and entered her office, two or three people immediately crowded around her, asking urgently, ”Teacher Ou, who was that man downstairs?”

”Yeah, he looked really rich. A typical rich kid.”

”Teacher Ou, he’s not your new boyfriend, is he?”

”I’m so jealous! Looks like you’re getting ready to be a rich man’s wife.”

Ou Jingya was about to explain that he was just a friend when a male colleague who had a crush on her spoke up from the side, his tone laced with jealousy. ”What’s so great about a guy like that? He has no skills of his own and relies completely on his family.

All he does every day is eat, drink, and play around, without making a single contribution to society.

He’s probably flippant about relationships, too. He’ll chase any pretty girl he sees, then dump her after he’s had his fun. Teacher Ou, you absolutely must not be fooled by him.”

”Thank you for the warning.”

Ou Jingya gave him a polite smile and said, ”I can’t speak for other people, but the man downstairs is not useless like you say. He’s a former student of my mother’s, and he came from an ordinary family.

All the money he spends now, he earned it himself through his own abilities.

Can you really say a man who built a net worth of over a hundred million on his own within six years of graduating has no ability?”

The male colleague was speechless.

”And as for your claim that he hasn’t made any contribution to society, I disagree with that even more.”

Ou Jingya defended Xu Yun, ”For one, after he became successful, he was willing to come back to his alma mater and use his own resources to establish a scholarship fund for underprivileged students.”

”Teacher Ou, you’re not talking about the ’Xu Yun Scholarship’ project that’s been rumored around the department recently, are you?”

Another female teacher asked in astonishment, ”That handsome guy downstairs is Xu Yun?”

”Yes, that’s him.”

Ou Jingya looked at the male colleague who liked her and said, ”So if an outstanding man like that were pursuing me, I’d be willing to be fooled.”

The male colleague was speechless.

”So he really is your boyfriend?”

Her female colleague gossiped, ”Have you two already gotten together?”

”No, we’re just regular friends. Don’t go spreading rumors about me.”

Ou Jingya knew what a big mouth this colleague had. If she didn’t explain and give her a warning, every teacher in the department would know by tomorrow.

”So are you interested in him? He’s a great catch!”

”I’m not planning on dating right now.”

”If you don’t want him, give him to me! Don’t let him go to waste.”

The female colleague smiled. ”Give me his WeChat or his phone number. I’ll change my own destiny.”

”Er.”

Ou Jingya refused, saying, ”I only just met him today. I haven’t even had a chance to get his contact info yet.”

”Tch. I think you just don’t want to share.”

”I can’t be bothered to argue with you. Believe what you want.”

Feeling a bit guilty, Ou Jingya finished up her work on the computer, then stood up and said, ”Alright, I’m not going to chat with you all anymore. I’m heading out.”

”I know, you’re in a hurry to go on a date with the handsome guy downstairs.”

Her female colleague said suggestively, ”Hope you turn on the charm tonight and successfully land your senior!”

Ou Jingya was speechless.

Downstairs, it was a completely different scene.

Xu Yun waited patiently off to one side. His car was surrounded by male students, both passersby and fans, who were all taking selfies with it one by one.

They had no idea the owner was standing right nearby.

When Xu Yun saw Ou Jingya come down, he smiled and asked, ”All done?”

”All done.”

Ou Jingya looked at the scene not far away and asked, ”Your car is so expensive. Aren’t you worried they’ll accidentally scratch it while taking pictures?”

”As long as it’s not on purpose, a scratch is just a scratch. It’s not a big deal.”

Xu Yun said, ”When I was a student, if I saw a sports car I liked on campus, I’d have felt the same way they do right now.”

”So, should we wait for them to finish taking pictures before we go?”

”They’ll never finish. People will just keep coming one after another.”

After saying that, Xu Yun smiled and walked forward, addressing the surrounding male students. ”Excuse me, everyone. My friend and I are in a hurry to get dinner, so if you could please make way, thank you.”

As soon as he said this, the university students immediately cleared a path.

Then, someone recognized Ou Jingya as she walked over and immediately called out, ”Hello, Teacher Ou!”

”Hello, everyone.”

Ou Jingya smiled and greeted them, then quickly got into the passenger seat, letting Xu Yun drive away.

The group of university students immediately began to whisper among their friends.

Ou Jingya was very popular among the students, thanks to her good looks.

”Is that Teacher Ou’s boyfriend?”

”But I thought Teacher Ou was single and didn’t have a boyfriend.”

”So Teacher Ou’s boyfriend is this rich.”

”Sigh, another one of these son-of-a-bitch rich kids has snatched away my goddess.”
