This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

”Classmates, I know you are all elites and outstanding individuals from your respective workplaces, with rich case-handling experience. But regarding the motive analyses you just submitted, I can only say they’re... remarkable. You’ve considered all possible angles.”

The speaker was a woman in her forties, with a long and intimidating list of titles.

Although she spoke words of praise, her impassive expression made the elites in their seats feel a little uneasy.

This tone isn’t right.

”Some of you mentioned crimes of passion, some spoke of impulsive killing, some attributed it to disputes over houses or property, and some even said the perpetrator had a twisted mind.”

The Teacher’s index finger rapped sharply on the lectern, producing a series of thuds.

”It seems interesting, and your analyses appear thorough, but it seems you haven’t truly listened to the case details.”

As soon as she said this, these talented individuals began to whisper among themselves.

Gu, one of the Classmates, glanced disdainfully at the Teacher on the lectern. ”Hmph, it’s not that we didn’t pay attention to the case details. If any crucial points were truly missed, then she must have deliberately concealed them.”

She then turned her head towards Wu Shengnan. ”Wu, what did you write?”

Wu Shengnan didn’t want to bother with her, but seeing Gu lean in so close, she shushed her. ”The Teacher is about to cover the key points. Listen carefully.”

Wu Shengnan’s voice had barely faded when the Teacher on the stage asked loudly, ”Which Classmate is Wu Shengnan? Please stand up and tell us what you wrote.”

Wu Shengnan was one of only two female trainees in the advanced training class. Her advanced pregnancy made her even more conspicuous.

In everyone’s perception, both Wu Shengnan and Gu were individuals with connections; they were here merely to get gilded.

As for any real substance, well, one could only chuckle derisively.

Young and female—these two traits alone were enough for these police veterans, mostly men over thirty or in their forties, to have already pigeonholed them.

However, because Wu Shengnan was pregnant and relatively low-key, unlike the boisterous Gu, most of the Classmates had a decent impression of her.

Now that the Teacher had called on her, everyone’s first reaction was that Wu Shengnan must have written a completely absurd answer. Some snickered, some felt a twinge of pity, while others were indifferent.

Gu looked even more astonished. ”Wu, you didn’t just make something up, did you? Look how angry you’ve made the Teacher!”

Wu Shengnan still ignored Gu. She stood up confidently and stated, ”My analysis is that the killer committed an unconscious killing.”

BOOM.

At this, even those who had been ready to sympathize with her, along with those who were merely observing with cold detachment, all showed mocking smiles.

What an airhead! How could she have thought of such an answer?

What in the world is unconscious killing?

Isn’t that just ridiculous?

As Wu Shengnan finished speaking, Gu, who was beside her, put on an extremely exaggerated expression of shock at the answer, even letting out a loud ”AH!”

Instantly, her behavior drew the gazes of everyone in the classroom; even the Teacher on the lectern was drawn in by her actions.

The female Teacher frowned deeply. Looking at Gu, who was doubled over with laughter, she said sternly, ”Please maintain classroom discipline. This is a classroom, not your home. Kindly mind your image.”

Gu froze.

The female Teacher then turned her gaze to Wu Shengnan. ”Why did you arrive at the conclusion of an ’unconscious crime’?”

Wu Shengnan took a deep breath. ”Teacher, at the end of the case introduction, you stated that the suspect consistently denied committing the crime and also refused to acknowledge that the Victim was dead.

Furthermore, even when the entire chain of evidence was complete, he still wouldn’t confess. This led me to suspect he might be a Patient suffering from a mental illness.

Also, the security guard mentioned that the man had appeared on the Victim’s balcony several times, drinking alcohol in a very relaxed and leisurely manner. This further confirmed my suspicion that he has a mental illness.

He either has dissociative identity disorder or a delusional psychiatric condition. A normal person, even a pervert with a twisted psyche, couldn’t repeatedly drink leisurely beside a Corpse—let alone do so openly on a balcony for all to see.

Therefore, my analysis is that he killed the Victim in an unconscious state, unaware of his own actions. That’s why I term it an ’unconscious crime.’”

”Nonsense!” Wu Shengnan had just finished speaking, and before the Teacher could respond, Gu couldn’t resist interjecting, ”That’s completely baseless speculation!

The suspect drinking on the balcony could have been an act to create a false impression, to make others think the Victim was fine and still in the room, thus preventing anyone from suspecting him!”

Wu Shengnan showed not a hint of nervousness at Gu’s sudden rebuttal. She calmly replied, ”If his sole purpose was to evade suspicion, wouldn’t it have been far better for him not to appear at all?

Remember, he would visit the residential complex every few days, and each time he’d bring a bouquet of vibrant lilies. Isn’t that just creating a stronger impression on the security guard?

If it were a premeditated crime, the suspect would try to minimize his presence as much as possible, not make such conspicuous moves.”
