This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Ding Yuxue began to blame herself relentlessly, sinking into endless regret.

However, just as her regret peaked, Ding Yuxue’s eyes suddenly lit up. A thunderbolt seemed to strike her mind, parting the endless dark clouds of her thoughts.

Du Heng!

She could absolutely ask Du Heng for help with this!

He saw my son’s problem with just one look, so he must have a way to treat him.

”Director, I want to transfer hospitals! I want to transfer! Please, help me arrange it!” Ding Yuxue’s spirits lifted. Having made up her mind, she cried out urgently to the Director of the Nephrology Department.

But the Director of the Nephrology Department was dumbfounded on the spot. His brain even short-circuited for a moment.

Transfer hospitals?

Didn’t I just ask her to decide whether or not to put her child on dialysis?

Why the sudden talk of transferring hospitals?

The Director of the Nephrology Department’s brain slowly began to process. ”Professor Ding, you want to transfer your child? Where to?”

Ding Yuxue was truly frantic. She said urgently, ”Good Friend Hospital—the Traditional Chinese Medicine Internal Medicine Department of Good Friend Hospital!”

Good Friend Hospital? The Director of the Nephrology Department frowned slightly. However, he didn’t have any major objections to transferring to Good Friend Hospital, as its reputation was well-established. Moreover, Good Friend Hospital’s Nephrology Department was indeed outstanding in its capabilities.

But transferring to their Traditional Chinese Medicine Internal Medicine Department? What on earth is she thinking?

Hasn’t what just happened been enough to wake her up?

”Professor Ding, do you want to reconsider?” the Director of the Nephrology Department asked in a deep voice.

But Ding Yuxue had made up her mind and shook her head firmly. ”I’m not confused. It’s the Traditional Chinese Medicine Internal Medicine Department of Good Friend Hospital.”

However, in the eyes of the Director of the Nephrology Department, such behavior was simply that of someone who had lost her mind. His brow furrowed deeply into a knot.

”Professor Ding, I know you’re a teacher of Chinese Medicine and have an inexplicable trust in it, but you saw what just happened. It wasn’t just ineffective; it was dangerous.”

The Director of the Nephrology Department glanced to the side. Seeing that the few TCM doctors from his own hospital who had been called for the consultation all had grim expressions, he continued to dissuade her in a low voice.

”Moreover, these colleagues from our Chinese Medicine Department are considered outstanding practitioners in your field of traditional Chinese medicine. If they are helpless, Good Friend Hospital’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Internal Medicine Department is unlikely to be much better. Professor Ding, now is not the time to be stubborn. Every decision you make will have a critical impact on your child.”

The Director of the Nephrology Department paused for a moment. Before Ding Yuxue could speak, he added, ”Also, Professor Ding, if you insist on having a doctor from Good Friend Hospital treat him, that’s not an issue. Tell me who it is, and I’ll help you invite them. We can ask them to come to our hospital for a consultation. Transferring would take too much time, and the journey itself carries risks.”

The Nephrology Department Director’s proposal was thoughtful, but Ding Yuxue immediately shook her head in refusal. She then briefly recounted Du Heng’s diagnosis from Friday.

”Director, there have been some misunderstandings between Mr. Du and me. I wronged him, and I scolded him.” As Ding Yuxue spoke, she was overcome with a tangled mix of regret, self-blame, and burgeoning hope, making her appear deeply conflicted. ”Furthermore, there are other conflicts between Mr. Du and me. So, I have to take my child to him personally to show my sincerity.”

Ding Yuxue’s words stunned the Director of the Nephrology Department.

A cough, a glance, and he had identified what was about to happen—two days in advance? This sounds like something out of a story!

The Director of the Nephrology Department couldn’t help but turn his puzzled gaze towards the TCM doctors standing nearby. Did such incredible techniques and practitioners truly exist in traditional Chinese medicine?

The TCM doctors also looked at each other. What Ding Yuxue described were things they had only read about in textbooks and ancient records. In the past, while they might not have voiced complete disbelief, they certainly wouldn’t have accepted such accounts wholeheartedly. But today, it had unfolded right before their very eyes, transforming legends from the classics into undeniable reality. This made them react with the same incredulity as the Director of the Nephrology Department.

The Director of the Nephrology Department swallowed hard. He couldn’t find any arguments to refute Ding Yuxue’s claim. If he were to say it was false, the person involved was right there, and there were even examination records as evidence. But if he were to say it was true, it defied all logical understanding. To diagnose an impending illness without any tests, without any obvious symptoms, merely by listening and observing—this was just too… too… preposterous.

The Kidney Department Director swallowed, thought for a moment, then said to Professor Ding, ”Professor Ding, since Doctor Du’s skills are so high, his medical ethics must also be impeccable. Even if there’s conflict between you, I believe someone like him would prioritize saving lives and treating patients, not let personal issues interfere with his work. I’ll help you contact Doctor Du right away and ask him to come for a consultation. You can also call him personally to explain the situation. I’m sure he won’t refuse.”

However, Ding Yuxue seemed fixated and once again refused the Kidney Department Director’s suggestion.

Others might not have known the depth of the animosity between her and Du Heng, but she herself was acutely aware. Especially considering that in the past two days, she had repeatedly called Director Zhao to pressure him. If Director Zhao had already contacted Du Heng, then the animosity between them truly couldn’t be resolved through ordinary means.
