This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

”Vomited?”

Professor Qian pondered for a moment. Recalling that Director Wu had also fed Lan Changhua another bowl half an hour after the first one, he said, ”Give him another bowl.”

At this point, the man had no other ideas, so he would definitely listen to the doctor.

As soon as Director Qian finished speaking, the man immediately served another bowl to his elderly father.

Watching the old man being fed again, Director Qian reconsidered and still felt that there would be no problem.

After all, this mixture is just like a bowl of soup during a meal; it shouldn’t cause any issues.

This time, after the old man finished the drink, Director Qian did not leave. Instead, he stood with the man, observing the elderly father on the hospital bed.

After about two or three minutes, the familiar gurgling sound reached their ears.

Director Qian breathed an inward sigh of relief. That’s right, it’s definitely working.

A smile finally appeared on Director Qian’s face. ”Alright, when you hear this sound, you’ll know that your father’s intestines are unblocked. In that case, let’s wait a little longer. When your father has finished using the toilet, come to my office and let me know.”

”He still needs to use the toilet?”

”Well, think about it. Your father has been suffering from intestinal obstruction for several days, leading to defecation and urination obstruction. Now that his intestines are unblocked, of course, he needs to use the toilet.”

As Director Qian finished speaking, another clear gurgling sound emitted from the old man’s body, which made Director Qian even more excited.

He had really learned a good method. A simple and practical method.

At his current position, the surgery fees from one or two patients no longer held much appeal. Instead, he now craved improvements in his medical skills.

Aside from a slight difference in timing, the old man’s reaction could be described as an exact match with Lan Changhua’s other reactions.

However, Director Qian was, after all, a doctor trained in modern medicine. Therefore, after the old man finished using the toilet, he observed him for about two more hours. When he saw that the old man had no discomfort, he promptly scheduled an examination for him.

The results were unexpectedly good.

The intestinal obstruction issue had been resolved as anticipated. The intussuscepted small intestine had returned to its proper position, eliminating the need for any further treatment methods.

Director Qian felt extremely comfortable, incredibly relaxed. So comfortable. So much so that when he went home and lay down on his bed, he drifted off to sleep, snoring softly.

「The next day」

When he went to work, there was a constant smile on Director Qian’s face. He warmly responded to every medical care worker who greeted him.

”Director, your skills are incredible! Yesterday, when I saw the patient, I thought he would definitely need surgery today. But I never expected that after just one night, you would have cured him.

”Director, I just checked the records and noticed that you didn’t prescribe any medication.

”Can you tell us what method you used to cure him? Let us learn from you so we can handle similar situations in the future.”

”Yes, Director, please tell us. We all want to learn.”

In every workplace, and around every person, there are always a few brown-nosers who fawn shamelessly and overtly.

At first, Director Qian found such brown-nosers annoying and would only respond with a scornful smile.

But ever since he became an attending Physician, and later a Director, he had found himself surrounded by brown-nosers. Only then did he realize that watching others fawn and enjoying the fawning himself were two vastly different experiences.

Moreover, he had been listening to their flattery for years, but he never grew tired of it.

It was just like now. Despite knowing that the young man speaking was eighty percent flattery and only twenty percent desire to learn, Director Qian still felt comfortable listening to the praise.

The pores on his skin, which had been tightly closed by the chilly spring morning breeze, now felt as if they were opening one by one.

Director Qian enjoyed such an atmosphere, but he also maintained his reserve.

However, before he could maintain his composure for another two seconds, a man’s shout suddenly came from behind, ”Director Qian, come quickly! You have to see what’s wrong with my father!”

Hearing the familiar voice, Director Qian shivered slightly.

Clinging to a shred of hope, Director Qian turned around, but when he saw who was calling, that hope vanished.

There was no time to think; he quickly entered the hospital room.

At this moment, the old man on the bed was leaning over the edge, retching uncontrollably. Drool was constantly flowing from his mouth, yet he couldn’t vomit anything.

”What happened?” Director Qian asked anxiously.

The old man’s son looked equally worried and anxious. ”I don’t know! He was fine during your ward round earlier, but suddenly he felt nauseous and wanted to throw up.

”As you can see, he’s been feeling nauseous ever since, and my dad also says he’s feeling very cold.”

Director Qian listened for a while but couldn’t make out anything useful.

Just then, the old man stopped retching, so Director Qian quickly went up to him. ”How do you feel now?”

”Cold. I’m so cold all over, I can’t stand it. And I feel a chill in my lower abdomen, like it’s rushing upwards.” The old man’s face was now ashen, his eyes were lifeless, and he seemed to be shivering as he spoke.

What worried Director Qian the most was that the old man’s breaths were very short and shallow as he spoke.

Director Qian’s mind went blank for a moment. For that one second, he knew nothing.

But he was, after all, an experienced Department Director. No one noticed his brief lapse. As soon as he regained his composure, he began to methodically make arrangements.

However, this time, his experience and his skills did not help him.

The monitor was attached. Heart rate: 57 beats per minute. As for the other values, they were all below the normal range as well.
