This Doctor Is Too Wealthy

Du Heng had explained it very clearly, but Ding Yuxue felt even more uncomfortable. Sharing her sentiments was Director Niu, who had come to assist. Both of them now had a question in their minds, a doubt that had lingered from the very beginning. The child’s condition was currently ’acute kidney injury,’ yet Du Heng and Director Wu had been focusing their discussion on ’Lung Metal Deficiency.’ Even now, as their conversation neared its end, they still hadn’t addressed how to deal with the ’acute kidney injury.’ It was important to note that the child’s biggest problem was no longer pneumonia or coughing. Instead, it was the edema and difficulty breathing caused by ’acute kidney injury.’ If this situation continued, it could lead to irreversible kidney failure or even multiple organ failure.

Ding Yuxue couldn’t help but ask again, having listened for a long time without hearing how Du Heng planned to treat the child, ”Mr. Du, how should the child be treated? Is it difficult?”

As Ding Yuxue’s words fell, Director Wu couldn’t help but glance at her a few more times. Director Wu now knew Ding Yuxue’s identity very well: an Associate Professor at Capital University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It would be understandable if she couldn’t figure out the initial diagnosis, since she isn’t a doctor and lacks diagnostic experience. However, Du Heng has now clearly explained the cause and pathogenesis. For her to still not know where to begin or what the root cause is... that’s a bit much. This isn’t just a lack of diagnostic experience; it’s a complete failure to understand and grasp textbook knowledge! The question is, as an Associate Professor at a higher education institution, is this level of professional understanding appropriate? She’s completely misleading her students!

But while Director Wu was surprised, Du Heng didn’t seem shocked at all. He simply followed Ding Yuxue’s words and said, ”To cure the root cause of the disease, the child’s ’acute kidney injury’ is due to the depletion of Lung Metal caused by upward assistance. Also, the medication taken during this period has further increased the burden. Therefore, the root cause is kidney water insufficiency, which makes it unable to support Lung Metal dispersion from above and the medication burden from below.”

Ding Yuxue, somewhat puzzled, asked, ”So, replenishing kidney water should do the job?”

Du Heng gently nodded. ”That’s right. As long as the kidney water is replenished, the abundance of water will extinguish the heart fire. Then, it will no longer violate Lung Metal. With Lung Metal able to disperse, there will be no need for kidney water support. And without the demand from Lung Metal, with sufficient kidney water, the kidneys will have the ability to self-regulate and make up for their deficiency. Moreover, when the lung qi is stable, it can save its child. When mother and child work together, all problems will cease to be problems.”

Would it work? Ding Yuxue was very worried. Despite her doubts, she could not ask any more questions.

Director Niu was also inwardly surprised. ’Acute kidney injury’ can be resolved by replenishing kidney water? What is kidney water? Is it urine?

But while the two were full of doubts, Cao Binghe and a nurse came in together. They carefully poured the medicine in their hands into the child’s mouth. This scene silenced the two people with doubts in their hearts. There was no use thinking about anything else now; everything depended on the effect of this medicine.

Du Heng and Director Wu also closely watched the child’s condition and the changes on the monitor, prepared to handle any emergencies at any moment. The child had many issues now, but the most dangerous were the high heart rate, difficulty breathing, edema, and urinary obstruction. Among these, the difficulty in breathing had two aspects: shortness of breath and intermittent coughing. The combination of the two could potentially lead to suffocation at any time. Therefore, the first thing to observe was whether his breathing could improve and if the heart rate issue could be resolved.

After observing for over thirty minutes, Du Heng and Director Wu looked at each other; both had a slight smile on their faces. Director Wu, in particular, let out a heavy sigh of relief. During this period, the child’s coughing, which had previously occurred every two to three minutes, had not recurred for almost ten minutes. Even the last cough was light and short. In addition, the child’s consistently high heart rate gradually decreased. Although it was still a bit higher than a normal person’s, it had definitely reached an acceptable level. Furthermore, as time went on, the child slowly showed signs of waking up.

Director Niu, standing behind them, praised softly, ”Deputy Director Du, you’re amazing! The medicine has worked wonders.”

Du Heng smiled modestly, while Director Wu’s smile was more obvious.

”Professor Ding, the child’s condition is stabilizing now, so don’t worry too much,” Du Heng turned to Ding Yuxue and said. ”Our nurse will bring the medicine every hour.

”Make sure to give it to the child promptly. Only reduce the doses when the child starts urinating and the urinary obstruction is cleared.

”In addition, do not give the child any preserved foods or seafood during the entire treatment period.”

Ding Yuxue quickly agreed. She had also seen the changes in the child, and her emotions were stirred, causing her to feel somewhat at a loss. She tried to stabilize her emotions and wanted to say something to Du Heng, but he had already left the hospital room with Director Wu and Director Niu.
