The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 942: Chapter 942: Madam’s Generous Hand

Why do they say, the moment the old master returns to the mansion, everyone understands one thing: do not let him linger near the old madam, otherwise, the two of them would be like fireworks meeting gunpowder, igniting in no time.

Just like right now.

Song Zhicheng and Song Lingjie had a hard time calming down the old master, and then looked imploringly at Song Ci.

On such a wonderful day, it’s better to let things go, preserve some dignity for the old man, after all, everyone is here in this room.

Song Ci unleashed her authority, feeling completely satisfied both body and mind.

If the old master truly believed he was the supreme patriarch of this house, who knows how chaotic things would be. If the original Song Ci had been as soft as a bun, the Song Family wouldn’t exist as it does today.

As you can see, personality determines everything.

In a family, it’s necessary to have someone who’s clear-headed in charge. Fortunately, Song Ci is a few years older than the old master. Over the years as a child bride, she initially had her parents’ support, and later her son’s support, which made her position as stable as Mount Tai, allowing her to suppress the old master’s reckless nature.

When the banquet ended, the old master angrily ordered a carriage to return to the estate. He didn’t plan to come back for the Mid-Autumn Festival; he wanted to celebrate at the estate to avoid being angered by the old madam into having a stroke.

In response, Aunt Mei and the others explained that actually, the old master had acquired several prized chrysanthemums and had sent invitations out, inviting a few old friends to the estate to enjoy the chrysanthemums, drink chrysanthemum wine, and savor crabs during the festival.

Song Ci was indifferent to this; she merely told Aunt Mei, ”If it’s just about enjoying poems and scenery, it’s fine, but you must be careful not to create any troubles again. It’s been just a month since you sent those infamous skinny horses away.”

Speaking of those infamous skinny horses, Song Ci originally kept them in her own courtyard until she brought back her little grandson. Feeling it was inappropriate to keep them, she had Jiang Fula take them away.

As for their fate, Song Ci was kind-hearted and ensured they didn’t end up in sordid places. However, whether they ended up in the backyard of some official or merchant wasn’t within her control.

Aunt Mei and the others hastily swore their loyalty, ”Rest assured, Old Madam, we have persuaded everyone we could. The people at the estate are sharp-eyed; any unusual activity will be reported back.”

Song Ci nodded in satisfaction, ”At the estate, only the old master and you two are the legitimate masters. Many underlings are cunning; you should control them properly. If there are any real troublemakers, get rid of them. In any situation, I, the old madam, will support you. Make sure everyone inside becomes your informant, and prevent him from having any chance to create trouble with others.”

These words almost explicitly permitted them to use trivial authority as a big excuse.

Aunt Mei, a bit moved, said, ”Concubine will strictly follow the old madam’s orders.”

Song Ci replied, ”You’re all as beautiful as flowers, serving that old man is an injustice to you. I’ll ask Nanny Gong to send some bright cloth for you to make new clothes. If you don’t want to make them yourself, go to the tailor’s shop outside and have them tailor-made for you; have the bill brought to me for settlement. Also, pick two sets of those newly designed jewelry for yourselves. Mid-Autumn is approaching, and wearing them would look festive.”

Such generous kindness made the two incredibly grateful, bowing their heads on the ground repeatedly.

Honestly, there isn’t a better legitimate wife than their old madam. If anyone outside dared to say a bad word about her, she’d confront them head-on!

Seeing their delight, Song Ci was also pleased, her face beaming as she winked at Nanny Gong.

Look, having money is great, there’s no fear in spending it to win people over.
