The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 930: Chapter 930: Rising Malice

Song Ci’s actions surprised and shocked everyone in the hall.

Everyone knew that Song Ci always wore a peace charm, which was carefully handcrafted by Master Jinghui, with a silk border sewn by clever maids, and adorned with endless auspicious patterns, making it extremely exquisite.

This peace charm had a prestigious origin and was worn by someone of equal importance. Song Ci wore it all the time and often visited the Buddha hall to pray, soaking up quite a bit of Buddha’s blessings, making it very valuable.

Now, this precious charm is placed on a grandson from another wife who she barely knew, not even Song Lingzhou got one.

Ru Shi’s expression changed first, tightening her grip on her son’s hand with envy raging in her heart.

Jingshui was also somewhat surprised, but quickly composed herself, holding Song Lingyi as she knelt on the ground, bowing three times: ”Fifth Young Master thanks Madam for her compassion and protection.”

Song Ci looked down at her and said, ”I don’t want to debate right and wrong here. Whether it was negligence or intentional, the child is the most innocent in all this. A good little child, after an illness, is in a bad state, and my heart is burdened. This peace charm is merely to express my wish for his peace and health.”

Jingshui lowered her head.

Everyone was slightly shaken, especially Ru Shi, who felt her face burning, thinking that Song Ci hinted at her with that statement.

Song Zhiqing felt a bit moved, looked at Song Ci, and saw her affectionate gaze on Song Lingyi, prompting him to lower his eyes.

Song Ci also did not show favoritism, looking at Song Lingzhou: ”Master Jinghui’s peace charm was given to you as well. This time I won’t give another. Little Five is not well, and your grandmother gave him one. You don’t blame me, do you?”

Song Lingzhou shook his head: ”It should be given. I’m well, but Fifth Brother...”

His voice choked, and tears rolled down his face.

”Good child, don’t cry, he will get better too.” Song Ci said with a smile: ”I will visit Songshan Temple later and ask for another for you.”

After comforting them for a while, she let the children go, dismissed most of the servants, leaving only Song Zhiqing and his wife.

”You insisted on fulfilling Bai Shi’s wishes, asking Little Five to be raised in Yongan Courtyard, and now see how he’s turned out? The same illness, Zhou’er recovered, but Little Five ended up like this. Did she want to see her own son suffer?”

Song Zhiqing felt a tingling sensation on his scalp and said, ”Mother, Bai Shi was injured by that contemptible maid, she’s still recovering.”

”Oh, I almost forgot this lawsuit. The maid who served her closely got injured at such a perfect timing. Could it be a deliberately staged act of suffering? Avoiding the more deadly smallpox and also clearing her name from the suspicion of harming two young masters, killing two birds with one stone.” Song Ci hmphs heavily.

These words were truly probing into the heart.

With Song Ci’s undisguised disgust and criticism, Bai Shi, in future, would likely not even appear in front of Song Ci.

Song Zhiqing was also left with a bitter taste, arguing, ”Mother, even a tiger doesn’t eat its own cubs, how could Bai Shi harm her own son?”

”A tiger not eating its cubs is true, but don’t forget, in ancient times, Wu Qi killed his wife for a general’s position, and Di Ya cooked his son to gain favor. Who’s to say Bai Shi hasn’t learned from those examples, gaining your trust and compassion while compromising the family’s peace?”

These sharp and vicious words caused Song Zhiqing to turn pale, unsure whether from shock or anger.

”Mother...”

Song Ci looked at him: ”Initially, I didn’t have much animosity towards Bai Shi, but she mishandled Little Five’s situation. From now on, she is not allowed near me, otherwise, you’ll have to live separately with her.”
