The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 878: Chapter 878: Not a Coincidence

Startled by Song Lingzhou, Song Ci actually forgot there was a little grandson waiting.

It wasn’t that she deliberately ignored this illegitimate grandson; people do have preferences and biases. To be honest, she had no blood ties with anyone in this house; all she had was the affection that came from interacting with them from the beginning.

Indeed, from the very start, which was from the moment she awoke in this body.

For Song Ci, what mattered were these ’family members’ she had been with since the beginning. As for Bai Shuilian and her daughters, they came later, and even after entering the household, they didn’t interact much, so where was the affection to come from?

As for Song Zhiqing, there was no affection either. She despised him, especially after witnessing his outrageous behavior.

When someone dislikes a person, they also tend to dislike the things the person cares about.

Song Ci was like this; she couldn’t stand Song Zhiqing and thus looked down on what he treasured.

So she ’cold-heartedly’ forgot about that little grandson.

But having forgotten, since Song Zhiqing mentioned it, she had to go and see.

Song Ci instructed Mrs. Zhou to take good care of Song Lingzhou. She also had the windows opened and had someone disinfect the room with vinegar and alcohol, among other things.

As for Mrs. Lu, after waking up, her face was ashen, looking utterly hopeless. If Song Ci hadn’t sharply scolded her, she might not have regained her senses.

Mrs. Lu gathered her spirit, suppressing her impatience, had Nanny Zhou stay in her son’s courtyard to maintain order, and she herself followed back to the Plum Garden.

She was the Lady of the house and had to have the magnanimity and demeanor of one.

The west wing of Plum Garden was also a scene of bleakness and terror.

Because the Fifth Young Master was having a convulsion seizure, and his body was twitching, scaring the wet nurse pale as she repeatedly called for the family doctor.

Jingshui pursed her lips and rushed out of the west wing. Seeing Song Ci and the others, she immediately knelt down to report the situation.

Song Zhiqing was already dragging Imperial Physician Chen inside.

Alright, when facing Song Lingzhou, he didn’t lose composure like this.

Song Ci’s face darkened, her gaze glanced at Mrs. Lu. Well, the latter was expressionless, looking at him like a stranger.

Alas, she had given up hope.

In the house, it didn’t take long before the diagnosis was made.

Song Zhiqing’s body went limp, nearly unable to stand, clutching Imperial Physician Chen’s hand, trembling as he asked, ”You, you mean Yi’er also has smallpox?”

His eyes stared unblinkingly at Imperial Physician Chen, and seeing him nod, a chill surged within him. The first thought to emerge was: who wants to cut off my descendants, such a sinister plot.

Upon hearing this, Song Ci also immediately developed a conspiracy theory.

This isn’t right; how could two little grandsons from separate rooms suddenly contract smallpox? This is no coincidence.

Then who did it?

Song Ci frowned, her gaze inadvertently sweeping over Mrs. Lu. Seeing her knit her brows and saying nothing, she just walked out of the west wing.

”Nanny Gong.” Song Ci called Nanny Gong over.

Nanny Gong stepped forward, listened to Song Ci’s instructions, showed some surprise, then nodded and turned to leave the courtyard.

Before long, Plum Garden was sealed off, and the still-uncomprehending servants looked bewildered.

Meanwhile, in Youyuan Courtyard, Bai Shuilian had only just been led to kneel at Chunhui Hall. At this moment, Nanny Gong personally brought people over, sealed off Youyuan Courtyard, and instructed the servants to search the rooms and gather everyone in the courtyard.

Another group of people went to Concubine Shen’s place, Lady Shen.

Lady Shen didn’t panic. After hearing the story, she furrowed her brow, lips pressed lightly together. Despite all precautions, they fell into a trap. Which step went wrong?
