The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 876: Chapter 876: Madam Is Cautious in Her Actions

When Lin Qing arrived at Wangzhou Tower with the maid Asang, she saw the entire courtyard bustling with activity. Some were cutting and sewing at the table, while others were fumigating with vinegar and wine, making the courtyard smell strange, both sour and pungent.

What puzzled her the most was the clothing being cut from oil paper?

”Madam.”

Song Ci turned his head and saw Lin Qing, then said, ”You’ve come.” After a pause, he added, ”Nanny Gong says Zhou’er might develop rashes. A Qing, did you have rashes when you were a child? If not, perhaps it’s best not to go in.”

”Madam, a doctor’s heart is like a parent’s. How could I retreat just because I’ve never had rashes? Saving lives and healing wounds is the basic medical ethics of a doctor.” Lin Qing shook her head with a smile. ”Besides, whether or not there are rashes requires a diagnosis to know.”

Song Ci’s eyes flashed with a trace of admiration, mixed with some guilt, as he said, ”If you dare to go in, you must first wear protective clothing just in case.”

Lin Qing, surprised, looked at the items on the table—is that what she referred to as protective clothing?

Rashes are a form of acute infectious disease. Once contacted, they can be spread through the air and droplets, so wearing a mask is necessary. But Song Ci, to be safe, even made protective clothing, as the family is not short of money for oil paper. The most important thing is not to cause infections everywhere, especially in the main courtyard and the newborn, which must not be neglected.

Therefore, Song Ci also had people notify all rooms and courtyards not to wander around here, to avoid unknowingly bringing viruses and causing trouble.

Even vinegar and wine are used for disinfection, it can be said that everything was done thoroughly.

Lin Qing sighed, ”Madam is indeed very cautious.”

Song Ci smiled bitterly, caution is necessary, as this thing can be deadly.

As they spoke, Imperial Physician Chen sent by the Imperial Hospital arrived; he was quite a young Imperial Physician and was momentarily stunned upon seeing Lin Qing, quickly calling out her name.

Lin Qing looked at this young Imperial Physician, somewhat surprised.

Imperial Physician Chen said shyly, ”When I was studying before, I paid a visit to the Lu Family in the medical heritage of Xinglin and stayed in their medical hall for a few days, so I recognize Doctor Lin.”

Lin Qing offered a polite smile and bowed in return.

”This is not the time for a reunion. Young Master Song Si is suspected of having the pox. Imperial Physician Chen, perhaps you could join me in diagnosing?”

Imperial Physician Chen quickly bowed and was about to walk in, but Lin Qing recounted Song Ci’s words.

Imperial Physician Chen then said with a smile, ”Doctor Lin, rest assured, I had pox as a child, so I’m not afraid of contagion. Even if I hadn’t had it, it wouldn’t matter, as a doctor’s heart is like a parent’s, and there’s no reason for fear in front of illness.”

Lin Qing heard this and her expression softened slightly.

Even Song Ci was satisfied, but still let people bring the hastily made protective clothing and masks for them to wear.

Both felt very novel; seeing patients with pox, wearing cloth is common, but now they had this protective clothing.

However, after putting it on from head to toe and hearing Song Ci’s explanation, they thought it was quite good. Both were quick thinkers, immediately considering that if a large-scale epidemic occurred, these measures could indeed prevent infection.

Song Ci also dressed, although she had had pox, given her advanced age, contracting the virus would be troublesome for the mansion.

Before entering the room, to avoid more cross-infection, Song Ci did not let too many people inside, only allowing a few doctors and Song Zhiqing’s couple to go in.

After all, if Mrs. Lu did not see for herself, she probably would not be at ease.
