The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 856: Chapter 856: Shennong Reborn? No, I’m Just Transmigrated

Song Ci felt that all the distressing events she had encountered in her decades of life could not compare to today. When she saw the small face of the baby in Liu Nanny’s hands, blue and purple from suffocation, she almost wished to die on the spot.

”Ah.”

A servant woman saw the baby’s neck wrapped in a coil of umbilical cord, face tinged with blue and purple, and couldn’t hold back a cry of alarm.

Song Ci shot a sharp glance over, and the servant woman immediately covered her mouth, knelt down, and trembled with fear.

Everyone’s faces turned as pale as death.

With a quick step forward, Song Ci took the baby from Liu Nanny, who was trembling like a sieve, and placed it on a table covered with cotton fabric.

Imperial Physician Liu was also invited in by Nanny, and as for the delivery bed, Mama Fang gave a signal, and the servants nimbly picked up a cloth to shield the bed from Song Ci’s view, after all Madam Song also needed to be tidied up, and it was inconvenient for her to see the child.

Midwife Chen and Lin Qing, after the afterbirth fell, immediately used hot water to clean up. Lin Qing administered acupuncture and checked the pulse, while keeping an eye outside the screen on Song Ci’s side, simultaneously mindful of Madam Song’s lower body.

Can it be saved?

At the moment Imperial Physician Liu saw the child, he shook his head, but Song Ci couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. She personally untied the umbilical cord from the baby’s neck and cleared the impurities from the baby’s mouth.

At this moment, she was immensely grateful for her dedication in the past. To play her role as an obstetrician’s assistant well, she had personally sought connections and found a doctor to accompany in rural clinics, allowing her to closely observe the rescue of a newborn.

Imperial Physician Liu was astonished at Song Ci’s actions but dared not interrupt. After all, when this lady saved the young prince of the Wang Family, her series of actions was unheard of.

This newborn with a difficult birth, can it possibly be saved?

After clearing the impurities, Song Ci disregarded the filth and began mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, gently pressing the heart with her two fingers, repeating continuously.

On the other side, though Madam Song was exhausted, she still remembered the child, laboriously opening her eyes and looking at Mama Fang, her lips bitten to the point of mangling moving lightly.

Where is the child?

A trace of pain flashed in Mama Fang’s eyes, wanting to say a few comforting words, but Madam Song saw clearly, mustering all her strength to grasp Mama Fang’s hand, her gaze questioning.

Lin Qing, seeing this, wondered if she should use a needle to knock her unconscious.

Outside the screen, Song Ci, feeling the movement of the child, relaxed inside. Feeling the weak throb from the child’s chest, her heart leaped with joy, and she grasped his feet and gave a light slap.

You little rascal, so troublesome! You almost scared your mother to death!

Poor Song Xiaoliu (the eldest son of Song Zhiyu but listed under his mother’s name and family, not participating in the Song Family ranking), let out a soft cry, weaker than a kitten’s mewl, but to everyone, it sounded like celestial music.

Liu Nanny was the first to slump to the ground, bringing her hands together and murmuring Buddha’s name several times.

Great Compassionate and Merciful Guanyin Bodhisattva, this trial is over, and the family is intact.

Though the child’s cry was weak as a kitten’s mew, it was heard on the other side of the screen. Madam Song was momentarily stunned, a burden lifted from her heart, and she finally fainted completely.

Song Ci also breathed a sigh of relief and said to Imperial Physician Liu, ”Imperial Physician Liu, please kindly check the child in case there are any issues with the body.”

Imperial Physician Liu snapped out of his shock, let out a response, and cautiously approached the tiny, delicate child, his heart already subdued and respectful.

This Madam Song, could she be Shennong reincarnated?

Song Ci: Not at all, I’m from the future.

Outside the room, someone shouted, ”The rain has stopped!”
