The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 643: Chapter 643: Three Consecutive Questions, How Dare You!

Su Qing felt somewhat uneasy, sitting alone in her room with her head slightly bowed, her figure appearing slender and frail, weak and helpless.

”Sister Su Qing, the Third Master invites you outside.”

Su Qing trembled, raised her head, unable to decipher the expression on her face.

She pressed her lips together, stood up, tidied her clothing, and walked out. Outside, Qi Zhen was standing under a cluster of hibiscus trees with his hands behind his back, looking slightly upward.

”Third Master.” Su Qing curtsied.

Qi Zhen did not turn around, only looked at the sky above, and said somewhat forlornly, ”Su Qing, I have been engaged twice, both brides were unfortunate, and others say I have the fate of one who brings misfortune to his wives, even noble ladies of high status dare not discuss marriage with me anymore.”

Su Qing abruptly lifted her head and said shakily, ”Third Master, those are outsiders who don’t know the truth, how could it be your fate that is hard, you must not belittle yourself, besides, you are already married, rumors will collapse on their own.”

”Yes, the Emperor bestowed his blessing, this fortune should be enough to suppress my hard fate, but now, is my hard fate causing the loss of a son?” He turned around, fixedly looking at Su Qing.

Su Qing’s eyes reddened, ”Third Master, please restrain your grief, or else the young master will not rest in peace.”

Qi Zhen laughed self-deprecatingly, ”Su Qing, do you know how old I am this year?”

”How could I not know? Master, my mother was your wet nurse, you and I are of the same age, 22 years old this year, 24 in virtual years.”

”Yes, 24 in virtual years, people of similar age to me, with good fortune, can become fathers-in-law within a few years, yet I have no offspring at all.” Qi Zhen looked at her, ”I married late because of my bad reputation, but my legitimate wife was deeply blessed, pregnant three months after returning to the family, and the child stayed stable until the fourth month; they said it was a formed male infant that came out.”

Su Qing’s body stiffened.

”I had thought, if the Third Madam was carrying a son, I would personally teach him martial arts, teach him to ride, make him a man standing tall, and if it was a daughter, I would also protect her carefully for her entire life.” Qi Zhen’s eyes turned red, the hostility around him growing heavier, staring at Su Qing, ”If everything went well, in six months, I could become a father, next year there would be a child calling me father. Su Qing, how dare you!”

Su Qing, how dare you!

The tone was not stern, just as if it came from a distant hell, sending chills down one’s spine.

Su Qing retreated two steps in shock, staring at Qi Zhen in astonishment, trembling lips asking, ”Third, Third Master? What do you mean by this?”

Qi Zhen looked at her indifferently, ”Isn’t Lin Zhuzi your childhood playmate? Wasn’t it you who had him shoot the Third Madam’s leg with a slingshot, causing her to fall from the pavilion? Wasn’t it you who ended my dream of being a father?”

Three consecutive questions.

Su Qing’s face turned deathly pale, she knelt down with a thud, her tears falling in streams, she lamented, ”Third Master, how dare I? You are my life, I would rather die than see you hurt, how could I do something to make you sad? I know nothing about Lin Zhuzi using a slingshot on the Third Madam.”

She crawled forward on her knees, clutching his leg, shaking her head slightly upwards, ”It wasn’t me, it wasn’t Su Qing.”

A pitiful sight as if her heart was being ripped apart.

Qi Zhen remained unmoved, ”Lin Zhuzi has confessed.”

Su Qing was stunned, showing a trace of bitter despair, ”Very well, whatever I say, Master won’t believe me. I am frail and won’t live for many more years anyway, might as well die to prove my innocence.”

”Stop her.”
