The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 611: Chapter 611: There’s No Such Thing as ’Consider the Owner Before Beating the Dog

No wonder Song Ci looked at the Ji family’s young ladies as if they were pigs; even the other ladies present stared at them in astonishment.

No matter if your Dowager Aunt is here to back you up, you girls cannot command an elder of grandmother’s status to compose poetry, let alone one who is a Madam with an Imperial Decree, the biological mother of Prime Minister Song.

Are the Ji family members reading filth instead of books in their daily lives? Their minds are entirely muddled with filth, stupid as pigs.

Princess Anping’s expression was even more unkind; her once gentle face now stern and imposing, her noble aura fully unleashed.

”Let the Madam Song compose a poem?” She glanced nonchalantly at Ji Suqin, the one who proposed the idea, with a look of mockery: ”This Miss Ji sure is brave. Dowager, do the Ji girls consume the gall of leopards regularly?”

Song Ci raised an eyebrow.

Ji Suqin caught the sharp gaze from the Princess and felt a chill in her heart. She swallowed hard, reflecting on the Princess’s words, and her face immediately turned pale.

”Pr-Princess...” She shrank back, clutching her hands, seeking help as she looked towards the Imperial Concubine Ji.

Aunt, help me.

The Imperial Concubine Ji’s face turned dark, glaring fiercely at her. Help you? Why drag me to your death?

This fool, who gave her the audacity and gall of a leopard to provoke Madam Song?

The Dowager shot an angry glare at her niece-in-law, Madam Ji. Worthless, only knowing how to hoard wealth and create drama, not even raising the daughters properly, only disgracing themselves publicly.

Madam Ji: ”...”

What did I do to deserve such murderous looks?

The Dowager snorted coldly, looking at Madam Song with a smile: ”These young ones often hear about Prime Minister Song’s exceptional literary talent and thoroughness in reading, so they presumed you, Madam, might have absorbed some of that through him, thus overstepping out of youthful folly. Your grace is expansive; surely you won’t hold a grudge against young girls?”

Song Ci hadn’t reacted much, but the Princess was already so infuriated that she spoke up angrily: ”Dowager, you’re mistaken. Madam Song is a noblewoman bestowed the Imperial Decree by the Emperor himself. Since her arrival, neither the Baroness of Anle nor Madam Ji have shown the due reverence, that might be pardoned, but now, young girls dare to request a poem for everyone to admire? Dowager, while it’s fine to value the young ones, you cannot merely encourage them; if this spreads, how will others view you and the Ji family?”

The Dowager quivered with rage.

Even when scolding one’s dog, you look to the master, but to be shamed openly by Anping, does she not care at all for her face?

She looked around at the other women present; each’s eyes seemed elsewhere, but their ears were all attentively listening!

Anping laughed coldly, if the Ji family is shameless, discard that face.

”Dowager, it may not matter what outsiders think, but if this reaches the palace, wouldn’t it imply the Ji family holds neither the Empress Dowager nor the Emperor in regard?”

Who in their right mind would dare shoulder this blame?

Madam Ji turned pale with fright, fell to her knees with a thud, and trembling, she said, ”Princess, Dowager, I would never dare!” She glared fiercely at Madam Ji and those Ji family young ladies: ”Kneel!”

These worthless things, do they intend to destroy the entire Ji family?

The women of the Ji family kneeled en masse, and the Dowager felt utterly humiliated, her face burning.

She looked at Anping and Song Ci, her eyes filled with resentment and menace. Anping doesn’t regard her at all, and Song Ci, the one who started this all, hasn’t said a word.

The Dowager, in a sinister tone, said, ”The Ji family lacks propriety, I apologize to Madam Song on their behalf; Madam, please do not be upset!”
