The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 614: Chapter 614 Madam Song is Really Interesting

Princess Anping accompanied Song Ci out of Prince Min Mansion and stood by the carriage, saying to Song Ci, ”Today’s banquet seemed to dampen the Dowager’s spirits, it truly is...”

Song Ci replied with a smile, ”It was Prince Min Mansion hosting the banquet. Why should you, Princess, feel apologetic? As for being disheartened? I don’t see it that way at all. It was quite amusing.”

”Do you really not mind those little brats being so provocative?” Princess Anping asked in surprise.

Song Ci pursed her lips into a smile, ”What do I have to mind? It’s just entertainment that came by itself. Moreover, it’s true as I said; they’re so young and innocent, what bad intentions could they have?”

Phooey, you little trickster!

Princess Anping was amused, ”No wonder the Empress always loves to summon you for chats at the palace. You really are delightful, Dowager.”

”You’re too kind, Princess.” Song Ci looked at the swirling snowflakes and said, ”The snow is getting heavy. I shan’t hold you up any longer, lest the road becomes difficult to traverse.”

Princess Anping nodded, ”If I host a snow-viewing party another day, you must come.” After a pause, she added, ”Rest assured, I won’t invite those clueless children.”

Song Ci’s eyes curved in a smile, she nodded and took her leave, getting into the carriage with the help of the palace Nanny.

Princess Anping watched her carriage depart and then boarded her own, seeing her daughter already seated inside. She chided, ”Why didn’t you go to your own carriage, what are you doing in mine?”

Commandery Princess Shou Ning handed her a hand warmer and said, ”Mother, your carriage is spacious and comfortable. I’ll keep you company so you won’t be bored on the way home.”

Princess Anping accepted the hand warmer with a gentle laugh, ”You are indeed filial.”

Commandery Princess Shou Ning sprawled over unceremoniously, holding a soft pillow, and said excitedly, ”Mother, that Dowager Song’s words were truly amusing. She insulted without using a single rude word, and the funniest part was that the Ji family people were scolded yet still laughed cluelessly, unable to tell they were being insulted.”

Princess Anping’s eyes showed disdain, ”This is precisely why it’s important for the head of a family to have wisdom and foresight. If Anle Bo had any foresight at all and had seized the opportunity to reform his household, he should have focused on the upbringing of the family youth. When the Imperial Concubine went to the fief, the smartest thing he did was to disperse the family members, making them inconspicuous, but that was it. He didn’t emphasize their education, so now all they can do is mimic the behaviors of noble families, failing miserably.”

Commandery Princess Shou Ning timely handed over a cup of hot tea and said disdainfully, ”Indeed, you have no idea how pretentious Ji Suqin and the others were. Oh, just thinking about it, I can skip dinner tonight.”

Princess Anping sneered, ”They are hopelessly stupid. I used to hear that they made a lot of jokes, and thought others were exaggerating, but it turns out people weren’t wrong at all.”

A little girl dared to provoke an Imperial Decree Dowager. Who gave her the audacity? Was it Princess Consort Ji?

Utterly foolish. With such behavior, see which family would dare want such a fool as a daughter-in-law. Oh, maybe some fallen households, perhaps for Princess Consort Ji’s sake, but certainly not any distinguished families.

Just wait and see. This matter is far from over. Considering the Empress’s protective nature, and how she’s at odds with Princess Consort Ji, she’ll surely exploit this opportunity. Then, the Ji family will realize they’ve hit a dead end.

Princess Anping seemed somewhat gloating, seeing her daughter’s willful expression, she said, ”Qing’er, you must remember, no matter the family’s circumstances, the children’s education is of utmost importance. You mustn’t neglect it.”

Commandery Princess Shou Ning’s mouth twitched. Her own marriage hasn’t even been arranged yet, isn’t it too early to talk about this?
