Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Tap, tap, tap...”

The sharp high heels struck the ground, stirring up crisp sounds that echoed through this spacious mansion, making all who heard tremble with fear, silent as cicadas in winter.

This was the aura... the aura of the master of the place.

”Ms. Tianxue has returned.”

At the Green Corridor, the maids and guards of the mansion respectfully greeted her, while Lin Tianxue, with a frosty expression, briskly walked towards the depths of the mansion.

This mansion was still Lin Haifeng’s mansion in Yanjing’s inner city zone, but after Lin Tianxue got married and had a child, along with family conflicts, Lin Haifeng had moved out with Lin Que two years ago, transferring the mansion to Lin Tianxue’s name. In other words, it was now the property of Fang Bai and Lin Tianxue’s family.

Currently, Fang Bai closely followed behind Lin Tianxue, a pale complexion and tightly knitted brows, resembling more a tormented attendant than the man of the house.

Until the two entered the hall, Lin Tianxue directly sat at the main seat facing the entrance, while Fang Bai stood aside, his face somber and despondent.

”How is Yuqiong’s recent study progress?”

Lin Tianxue asked, but it was not directed to Fang Bai, rather to a stout woman nearby.

The stout woman replied, ”The young master’s most recent test scores are all A+, and his strength is at Peak Level 4. He’s currently preparing to challenge the Level 5 advancement test, which should not be too difficult.”

Upon hearing her son’s recent status, Lin Tianxue’s expression softened considerably.

”Also, which of the 3 SSS-Class skills I found for Yuqiong did he learn?”

”Probably Breath of Desolation; I’ve seen the young master display it at the training ground.”

”Hmm, Breath of Desolation, right? Did he receive the accompanying skills?”

”They have been acquired, sent over by Commander Lin.”

Through a series of questions and answers with the stout woman, Lin Tianxue got a clear understanding of Fang Yuqiong’s current situation.

As Lin Haifeng’s grandson and with a strong mother, Fang Yuqiong had access to unimaginable resources. At a young age, he already possessed not only SSS-Class but Esoteric Level skills as well, his skill system verified by multiple parties to ensure future developmental potential.

Fang Yuqiong’s entire arrangement was designed according to the standards of the Protector God. It’s no exaggeration to say that once Fang Yuqiong reaches adulthood, whether he becomes Protector God or not, the military War God White Tiger position will surely have a spot for Fang Yuqiong.

Lin Tianxue wore a gentle smile on her face, and even Fang Bai standing by seemed somewhat more sanguine - how could parents not feel comforted by such an outstanding son?

After chatting a while longer with the stout woman, Lin Tianxue dismissed her. Only when the hall was left with just Lin Tianxue and Fang Bai, did Lin Tianxue finally glance at Fang Bai with the corner of her eye.

”How did you handle the matter I instructed you about?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Bai slowly pursed his lips, but remained silent.

Lin Tianxue appeared not to notice Fang Bai’s expression, continuing on her own accord, ”Marcus’s attitude is clear; he wishes to follow me. As you know, these past two years have seen both Ray and Marcus sidelined; Ray is quiet but has deep schemes, never commentating on this issue, whereas Marcus is different... he desires power, honor. After all, which man doesn’t yearn for these?”

”Then there’s Qin Tian, who brought his sister back to Yanjing. That young girl is good-spirited and grateful. I’ve looked after Qin Shiyuan a lot these years, and Qin Tian also feels grateful towards me. Hmm, Qin Tian is indeed someone worth using. His brother-in-law, Arthur, is also an expert, and even though Yang Hong of the Three Skulls Society isn’t particularly skilled, the Three Skulls Society is quite convenient for use.”

”Moreover, we have Mojia, Gu Qing, these Sequence-class powerhouses, past members of the Ultimate Force Team, who voiced slight dissatisfaction towards father after Tang Haofei was sealed. This combined strength is indeed considerable.”

”However, Demigod is a major problem. Recently, I’ve been interacting with Demigod, and that guy is as cold as ice, completely ignoring my hints. I really can’t decipher him.”

As Lin Tianxue talked, Fang Bai just stood aside listening, until Lin Tianxue finished speaking, bringing back silence between them.

”And you?”

Fang Bai remained silent.

Lin Tianxue’s eyes showed traces of cold light, ”Demigod’s attitude is unclear. Let’s set him aside for now. Kasu, Qin Min, and Fran all follow father closely. There’s also Lan Bo, Dugu Jian, Wei Tian, and that Azure Dragon War God whom we can’t even discern what it is! Plus a whole slew of divine beast varieties, these are all father’s direct forces. If you can’t pull Walter over to our side, everything I’m doing right now is just an illusion, do you understand?”

”I don’t understand...”

Fang Bai murmured, his voice as soft as a mosquito.

”Our power is insufficient. You can see how the old man thinks. Yuqiong is named Fang, while Lin Que is named Lin. Moreover, with my brother dying early, the old man always feels he owes him. He places all his hopes for my brother onto Lin Que, haven’t you realized? The old man covertly helps Lin Que. While Fang Yuqiong is nurtured as a future super-powerhouse, Lin Que? Even at a young age, he can freely access the command center! He is the old man’s designated successor! If this continues, when my son grows up, he will forever be overshadowed by that little brat! We need power; we need forces loyal to ourselves. In the future, should any incident unfavorable to Yuqiong arise, we can have our own voice in the matter. Fang Bai, that is also your son. Think about it, not for yourself or me, but for your son’s future...”
