Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Wen Yu’s tactics were self-evident — it was all about creating a time delay.

Using space to buy time, and within this time, Wen Yu fully manipulates his body, intending to destroy a glass cannon with a ten-kilometer diameter, which is remarkably simple!

As for directly taking out Uxas here...

That’s quite difficult. Currently, Wen Yu’s tactics against Uxas are just control. Regarding Soul Strength, Uxas right now is not inferior to Wen Yu, plus his body’s gray energy is bizarre in nature and highly intense. In the short term, Wen Yu doesn’t have any ultra-powerful means to instantly knock out Uxas.

But with Wen Yu’s understanding of skills, Uxas’s resurrection-type skill should have some very uncomfortable limitations — even the Life and Death Battle Execution requires rebirth-type skill cooperation. Wen Yu doesn’t believe Uxas’s skill is more bugged than Life and Death Battle Execution!

The most likely limitation is the duration. Once the Skill Effects end, in Uxas’s ordinary form, his power to Wen Yu is nothing but a pile of shit, entirely negligible.

...

Upon receiving the latest command, Darkness Puppet immediately acted.

Its rigid body fiercely collided forward, directly creating a perfect human-shaped cavity in the Origin Extraction Device.

Being a pipeline, the interior was naturally hollow, and since the Origin Extraction Device wasn’t active at the moment, the inside was unusually empty, without debris.

Under the influence of gravity, Wen Yu’s body fell straight downwards, while Darkness Puppet, afraid of any damage to Wen Yu’s body, relentlessly used darkness energy to keep the falling speed within an easy-to-control range.

Even so, the speed was still very fast...

With the distance between the physical body and the Soul growing, Wen Yu within the Dimensional Maze also felt the gravitational force between his body and Soul surge drastically.

Already being in two different spaces, the pull itself was substantial. Now, as his body dives deeper underground, Wen Yu felt the faraway tugging force gradually intensifying, even to the extent of impacting his own combat capability!

The Soul Battlefield started again, yet this time, the bullet storm that made Uxas despair didn’t appear.

Gray energy fiercely burned all over his body. At this moment, Uxas seemed like a thick, profound gray flame, and this was precisely the fundamental reason he could endure so long before a rascal like Wen Yu!

Chaos Energy is extremely unique. It appears ordinary and nonchalant, emitting inconspicuous gray light. However, from an energy level standpoint, this type of energy surpasses time energy, space energy, and even soul energy by quite a bit!

Just like in the battle between Wen Yu and Uxas earlier, ammunition shot from Wen Yu’s Dual Guns crashed into Uxas, only to be instantly annihilated when intercepted by Chaos Energy — this is the difference in energy essence, much like the Soul Skill System perfectly crushing Uxas’s skill system.

The energy defense layer on his body remained taut. After experiencing dozens of soul-body separations, Uxas slightly adapted to this abrupt transition. Now, Uxas shifted his gaze, immediately locating the direction where Wen Yu stood.

He was standing at the entrance of the teleportation channel...

This scene made Uxas extremely frustrated. He was supposed to be the boss guarding the Dimensional Maze! But now, he couldn’t advance or retreat, his position carded by an enemy!

Despite the resentment stirring within, Uxas didn’t make any move — he knew that in the Soul Battlefield, whether to attack was entirely up to Wen Yu. His offense was utterly useless.

Although the combination of light and darkness had a time limit, this wasn’t considered a key issue anymore. Uxas had long since abandoned hope of defeating Wen Yu — the mission was doomed to fail. Instead of continuing to launch self-humiliating attacks, he might as well consider how to preserve his life once the Skill Effects end!

The anticipated lift from the Soul Battlefield didn’t happen. From afar, Wen Yu merely stood there without making any attacking move...

”You little rascal, I’ve seen through you long ago. You’ll wait till I’m at your side to lift the skill, deliberately humiliating me. I’m not falling for it!”

With this thought, the Chaos Energy on Uxas burnt even fiercer — he had already set up comprehensive defense measures, regarding attacks, years of experience in the Soul Battlefield wasn’t for nothing!

Until Wen Yu’s faint voice echoed from a distance.

”Right, before you transformed, didn’t you say you’d tell me your story? Now that the situation has reached this point, why not sit down calmly for a chat, exchange some emotions, and let me broaden my horizons, learn some strange tales from your world, how about it?”

Reveal your story then, young man. I am currently drawn by the pull of my body, feeling euphoric yet miserable. Fighting won’t do, and as the pull intensifies, Wen Yu needs to exhaust substantial energy to resist this force. Under these circumstances, it’s better to hear a story, killing time to allow Darkness Puppet to delve deeper into Earth’s nucleus.

Uxas, completely unaware of Wen Yu’s predicament, contemplated for a moment and figured it was better to relax within the Soul Battlefield than to experience the ”thrill” of soul-body separation repeatedly again.

When efforts yield rewards, most people will give it a go, trying to achieve their goals. But to persist in effort when it’s evident there will be no reward — isn’t that foolish?

At least, defeating Wen Yu at this moment was an effort Uxas found impossible to achieve. So, Uxas started speaking.

”I’m Uxas, I’m Sequence Number 1 of the Boundless Sea...”

”Wait! Hold on a second!”

Just as he started speaking, he was interrupted by Wen Yu. Uxas gazed at Wen Yu, not far away, in a daze, only to see Wen Yu’s expression contorted as if enduring some kind of pain.

This sudden scene left Uxas puzzled until after a long while, Wen Yu spoke again.

”Please continue.”

His countenance was significantly better.

Uxas secretly muttered to himself, thinking of the overturned situation with a glimmer of hope; however, Uxas immediately snuffed out that thought — the Soul Battlefield had no consumption, a key point in Lord Demon Spirit’s intel, hence there was no room for a turnaround.

”Perhaps it’s his time of the month...”

Uxas maliciously speculated and then continued: ”The Endless Sea World is very similar to Earth...”

”Wait! Hold on again!”

Once more, his words were interrupted by Wen Yu. Uxas couldn’t help but feel a bit annoyed; you asked me to tell a story, yet you’re not listening! What the hell do you want?

However, this time, Wen Yu seemed to have made up his mind, looking at Uxas with a serious and sincere expression.

”Thank you, your story is fascinating, but I’m really pressed for time...”

As soon as he finished speaking, Uxas felt a whirlwind, and the next second his Soul Body returned to his physical body.

The last scene in his view was Wen Yu’s Soul Body turning into light and disappearing, yet the bewildered Uxas’s mind was only pondering one question.

”I barely said anything, what made you think my story was fascinating...”

Being suddenly confused by the transformation, Uxas pondered for a long time until the Soul Connection brought a clear and enraged voice.

”Uxas! Uxas!”

”Lord Demon Spirit, I’m here...”

Uxas’s demeanor immediately grew solemn, until Demon Spirit’s untamed roar rang out: ”You fool, the Origin Extraction Device was dismantled, did you know? I ordered you to intercept the enemy, what exactly did you do?”

Uxas froze momentarily and then swiftly realized. The recent ”Uxas story hour” was merely Wen Yu’s little trick to stall for time.

Retribution came quickly, considering Uxas tricked Wen Yu in such a manner not long ago...

”My Lord...”

Uxas wanted to explain, but a sudden soul fluctuation in his mind made Uxas involuntarily take action.

The final command echoed in his mind: ”You don’t need to explain, you need to obey. Now, go down and stop Wen Yu, immediately!”
