Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”So, should I kill you, or should I seal you away...”

The howling wind swept past, a byproduct of Tang Haofei’s roar. Even the mere gust from his mouth required Wen Yu to use the Soul Battlefield to counteract such an ”incidental attack.”

Wen Yu couldn’t help but change direction slightly.

Faceless, noticing this, turned Tang Haofei’s head in another direction while greedily eyeing the bloodstains on Tang Haofei’s chest.

For Faceless, it was treasure!

Wen Yu noticed Faceless’s desire and shook his head with a smile, giving up his previous choice, cautiously approaching Tang Haofei and tearing open the collar of Tang Haofei’s clothes.

The immense physical strength allowed Tang Haofei’s wounds to heal quickly, now already more than eighty percent healed on his chest.

With precision, Wen Yu collected half a bottle of blood from Tang Haofei’s wound, looked at the viscous liquid in the bottle, shook it twice with a smile, and returned the blood to the space ring.

The naked insult calmed Tang Haofei down. At this moment, Tang Haofei was panting heavily, his bloodshot eyes glaring fiercely at Wen Yu.

”Kill me...”

There was no plea in his voice; Tang Haofei’s tone was calm, he desired death, but Wen Yu simply pursed his lips without responding.

Though Wen Yu seemed righteous earlier, he was hesitant when it came to actually eliminating Tang Haofei.

If Tang Haofei had no chance of resurrection, Wen Yu would want to eliminate this trouble here—since they were already enemies, extermination was the only option. Once Tang Haofei was dead, everything would be stable!

However, if Tang Haofei still had resurrection chances, even just once, it would be fatal for Wen Yu—a Blood and Flesh Balance Scale (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Active Skills) only works once a day. Without it, Wen Yu would have no way to break Tang Haofei’s external defense. If Tang Haofei resurrects again, his strength increased fourfold, Faceless would be crushed, and having suffered from Wen Yu’s trickery, Tang Haofei wouldn’t fall for it again.

The results were just due to Tang Haofei being in a poor state, unclear-headed, also failing to grasp Wen Yu’s skills—a fortuitous coincidence. Another round...

Even by sheer imagination, Wen Yu could foresee his miserable fate.

Therefore...

”Sleep, when you wake up again, everything will be better.”

Wen Yu whispered gently, like soothing a child. Tang Haofei was merely held in place by Faceless, the red glow in his eyes intensifying until he saw Wen Yu take out a talisman from the space ring.

Deep Sleep Spell (Species-specific Esoteric Level item): By placing this on bare skin and activating the spell, the target is forced into a sleep state, ignoring physical quality, and doesn’t require food. Any external attack will awaken the target.

A useless item, yet the only ”seal” item the military could find that disregards physical disparities.

Wen Yu approached Tang Haofei slowly, with the Deep Sleep Spell in his right hand, seeing the murderous intent in Tang Haofei’s eyes grow stronger, Wen Yu remained unfazed until the talisman touched Tang Haofei’s forehead and emitted its glowing effect.

The black energy in Wen Yu’s hand blossomed, enveloping Tang Haofei like a black cocoon, ensuring he wouldn’t be subject to any ”attack”-like effects.

Darkness dragged Tang Haofei’s body floating in mid-air. Looking at Tang Haofei’s sleeping form, Wen Yu squinted, sighed quietly after a while.

This incident undoubtedly embittered Tang Two; he hoped Lin Haifeng had a way to restore Tang One’s personality.

...

In the distance, the storm subsided, yet Fran looked pale, as if facing the final judgment.

Fran understood Tang Haofei’s skills and Wen Yu’s skill system. Two tigers fighting, in Fran’s eyes, was sheer crushing and torture—Wen Yu couldn’t possibly survive Tang Haofei’s attacks; he couldn’t even take one move!

This was not just Fran’s assessment of Wen Yu’s combat power, but also the consensus among Lin Haifeng and other high military brass—Tang Haofei was unbeatable, invincible, the strongest in this world.

Besides intrigue, nothing could really trouble Tang Haofei, and when schemes were uncovered, the conclusion was clear—Wen Yu, Lin Haifeng, himself, even Yanjing Assembly Site and Eternal Sky City...everything would be utterly obliterated by an enraged Tang Haofei!

Therefore, as the reverberations from the distant battle erupted, Fran didn’t defend, didn’t run, didn’t leave, he just sat there, face pale.

If Kasu wasn’t beside him, using defense skills to fend off the aerial thunderstorm’s debris, he might have been torn to pieces. Yet even so, Kasu felt at his limit as the battle’s residual halted.

”Huff...huff...”

Labored breathing escaped Kasu’s mouth, utterly drained. He felt out of energy, his clothes in tatters, covered in wounds. He turned to the empty-eyed Fran.

”Let’s go...we should leave now, or it’ll be too late.”

”Leave? Where to?”

”Anywhere, as long as it’s not Yanjing. Just stay away from him.”

”Hm hm...”

Fran coldly chuckled self-mockingly.

”Far away, for a monster traversing Earth in three minutes, how far is far enough?”

Kasu was silent; Earth was vast, but not for a powerful expert like Tang Haofei, adding his perception ability, finding someone wouldn’t be difficult.

”Perhaps Tang Haofei won’t bother with small fry like us.”

This was the only hope. Poor Kasu, a Sequence Number 5, saw himself as mere pawn.

Fran silently shook his head. After working in Yanjing for so long, Fran had grown deeply reliant and attached to the Yanjing Assembly Site.

If destruction were inevitable, let him perish alongside Yanjing!

With that in mind, Fran stood up, ignored Kasu’s warnings, walking straight toward the storm’s source.

Until Fran met a familiar figure.

...

”Grr grr...”

Words caught in his throat, making eerie noises, seeing Wen Yu with wrinkled clothes, and the strong man lying behind him in darkness, Fran’s eyes widened with shock, doubt, disbelief.

”How is it possible!”

Uncontrollably voicing his doubts; Fran expected the game to be set, but the situation had entirely reversed.

Yet Wen Yu met Fran’s astonished gaze with a mysterious smile.

”Nothing is impossible, the specifics of battle...now that would be a magnificent epic, so, want to hear it?”

Fran was silent, then burst into a grin, his old face suddenly appearing a decade younger.

”Really, thank you.”

Wen Yu shook his head.

”I was merely fulfilling my promise.”

Then, Wen Yu pointed at Tang Haofei behind him.

”Now, let’s discuss how to deal with this trouble.”

Fran’s smile couldn’t be concealed, he held up a communicator to Wen Yu.

”Don’t worry, the cleanup has long been arranged and settled.”
