Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

When the flying craft descended from the sky, Fran and Kasu were looking at Wen Yu with a strange expression, and behind Wen Yu floated Tang Haofei in mid-air.

Victory, it was too much of a surprise for the two! No one expected that Wen Yu would be able to solve Tang Haofei in a direct confrontation.

However, it has happened, and judging by Wen Yu’s demeanor, he didn’t intend to explain how he managed to counter Tang Haofei, so they simply refrained from asking. In any case, the mission was successful, and the trouble of Tang Two was temporarily resolved.

As for the rest, only after returning to Yanjing will it be considered further.

Wen Yu grabbed Tang Haofei and boarded first, followed closely by Fran and Kasu. As the flying craft slightly trembled, the engines began to roar, and only when the craft reached mid-air did Wen Yu speak to Fran.

”By the way, it was Walter and Qin Tian who tipped off Tang Haofei.”

Fran was taken aback, then nodded with an unpleasant expression.

The plan itself was simple, but the likelihood of failure wasn’t high. It was merely a matter of Wen Yu applying the Deep Sleep Spell on Tang Haofei after the Origin Extraction Device was dealt with — just such a simple action. To say the least, as long as Wen Yu had even a bit of acting skill, there was no possibility of failure.

About the Deep Sleep Spell, Qin Tian might struggle to understand, but Walter, given his status, had enough access to such information. It was Walter and Qin Tian’s betrayal that turned the entire plan into an open assault, almost giving Fran a heart attack.

”It can’t be... Walter... this can’t be.”

Beside him, Kasu was caught in disbelief, muttering about impossibility while scratching his head in distress — as the powerful expert closest to Walter, Kasu was extremely familiar with him. Such blatant betrayal left Kasu feeling as if his worldview had been shattered.

”Well, it’s not impossible... Qin Tian has a sister, Walter’s parents are alive, sigh...”

Old Man Fran sighed, determined in his mind to plead with Lin Haifeng after returning — having already lost Tang Haofei, the military’s power had virtually dwindled to almost nothing. Plus, Wen Yu didn’t belong to the military, meaning that from Wen Yu’s perspective now, the entire military had no one capable of a real fight.

If internal strife and accountability continued, the entire military would soon be dismantled...

As Wen Yu stated, the appearance of Tang Two during this period turned the entire military into chaos! Even if Tang Haofei was sealed away, the troubles and traps left behind were enough to give Lin Haifeng quite a headache.

Wen Yu was unwilling to bother with the military’s trivial matters, informed Fran, and then closed his eyes to rest on the aircraft.

Until an hour later, the Yanjing Assembly Site came into view in the distance.

...

The flying craft didn’t stop at the Yanjing Assembly Site but continued upwards, flying straight to the vicinity of the central control tower of the Eternal Sky City.

Lin Haifeng, who had received early notice of the plan’s success, promptly designated the surrounding area as a restricted zone. As the craft descended amid the roaring sounds, the cabin door opened, and Wen Yu, who was using darkness energy to drag the sleeping Tang Haofei, was the first to step off.

Lin Haifeng was at the aircraft’s door to welcome him; at this moment, he was spirited. Wen Yu was able to deal with Tang Two even after the plan was uncovered, shocking not only Fran but also Lin Haifeng, who was far away in Yanjing. Not to mention Wen Yu’s actual capability, just dealing with the trouble of Tang Two was enough to allow Lin Haifeng to eat two extra bowls of rice.

”Really, thank you!”

Seeing Wen Yu step off the plane, Lin Haifeng approached Wen Yu in a few steps, gently hugged him to express gratitude. Wen Yu felt unfamiliar with Lin Haifeng’s enthusiasm, just pushed him away, gently shaking his head to indicate that he wasn’t comfortable with such intimate gestures.

Lin Haifeng, sensibly, distanced himself, and waited for Fran and Kasu to disembark before leading them towards the central control tower.

”Is the location arranged? And the methods to suppress Tang Two and awaken Tang One?”

”The location is already arranged, right at the top floor of the central control tower in the Eternal Sky City. I’ve arranged for Kasu to oversee the area 24 hours, while setting up some technological and runes-based defensive measures. It’s no exaggeration to say, unless you personally come to awaken Tang Haofei, no one else will be able to breach the alert here.”

Wen Yu nodded: ”I’ll also set up a layer of defense nearby, I hope you don’t mind.”

Lin Haifeng shook his head: ”It’s only right.”

This time, Wen Yu deeply offended Tang Two. To say who would be in the most trouble if Tang Two unexpectedly woke up, without a doubt, it would be Lin Haifeng and Wen Yu. The two shared a perfect understanding on this point.

The best approach is to make Tang Two disappear permanently... If that can’t be achieved, then permanent sleep is also a good option.

”As for the methods to suppress Tang Two and awaken Tang One.”

Mentioning this, Lin Haifeng’s eyes showed a slight bitterness...

”It’s very difficult, I’ve gathered some professionists with special abilities, not sure if it’ll work. Ah, you also know, the cost of power is irreversible, on my end, I’ll try my best.”

Wen Yu nodded, indicating doing his best would be sufficient.

...

”Boom~~”

Amidst the loud noise, Wen Yu carefully examined Tang Haofei’s future dwelling.

A transparent glass box resembling a Crystal Coffin, densely inscribed with runes flashing incessantly, Wen Yu recognized them as products of the Universe of Immortals and Heroes.

It seems the military has done considerable research in runes technology.

”Primarily, it serves defense, and alarm purposes, preventing conflicts in the future. Should the Eternal Sky City face turbulence, it mustn’t break the effect of the Deep Sleep Spell.”

Whether turbulence counts as external attack, who knows, anyway, being cautious is never wrong.

Looking back at Tang Haofei’s enclosure.

by 10 in size, the walls filled with coffin-matching runes, with walls equipped with numerous cameras ensuring 24-hour surveillance. Kasu was stationed in an empty room right in front of the door, and outside, there were absolute patrol teams never ceasing their rounds.

After inspecting these, Wen Yu felt quite pleased with the military’s arrangements and gently gesturing with fingers, the darkness energy encasing Tang Haofei began to drift, until depositing Tang Haofei into the Crystal Coffin.

Subsequently, the darkness energy quietly lingered around Tang Haofei’s body, gradually fading.

”I’ve left an energy presence, is that okay?”

”No problem.”

Lin Haifeng nodded, though how could he not guess Wen Yu’s little schemes — on one hand, it was supervision, on the other, it was a threat.

With this energy present, Wen Yu could awaken Tang Haofei at any time, just as in this place, Lin Haifeng could awaken Tang Haofei at any time — merely little tricks to balance both sides.
