Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”But it’s still better not to wake up...”

Thinking of Tang Haofei, Wen Yu couldn’t help but mutter to himself. Over the past five years, without Tang Haofei, or rather without Tang Two, the whole world could be described as calm and tranquil. There were no ambitious figures, or rather, ambitious figures dared not emerge, and there was no issue in the world that Wen Yu couldn’t settle with a single sentence. This not only significantly enhanced Wen Yu’s strength but also led to rapid development for all races around the world. Five years passed quickly, and the whole world underwent drastic transformations.

Peace and stability, Wen Yu liked it this way.

In his perception, the battle in the skill competition arena below had already been decided, where the wild beast named Extreme Bear Griller was slightly better. The fierce battle between Peak Level 6 mutant beasts didn’t raise even an ounce of interest in Wen Yu—as Zero mentioned, all battles in this world now seemed like mere squabbles between chickens to Wen Yu.

The glow of the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill in his right hand gradually burst. Under the flow of Creation Energy, specks of light gradually merged, and in no time, an S-class skill was fully generated by Wen Yu, then imprinted onto a blank scroll.

Skills below S-class can be mass-produced by machines through the assembly line, and this is the main source of income for Wen Yu’s industrial chain. However, high-level skills need to be made by Wen Yu himself. An S-class skill scroll takes about 5 to 10 minutes, SS-class requires hours, and SSS-class involves one or two days’ work. As for Esoteric Level skills, Wen Yu still finds them beyond his reach—with the increase in strength, Wen Yu gradually grasped the key points in skill creation. Esoteric Level skills are fundamentally different from regular ones; the rules contained within them are entirely disparate from those beneath Esoteric Level, leaving Wen Yu puzzled. As for Limit Breakthrough Level abilities, Wen Yu is entirely clueless.

Below, a new battle unfolded in the skill competition arena. In his leisure, Wen Yu was pleased to pass some time here, possibly encountering a few intriguing young fellows. But shortly, the spiritual fluctuations arriving from afar disrupted Wen Yu’s enjoyment.

”Master, Fran has arrived.”

”Fran? What is he here for?”

”Master, today is the scheduled trading day with the military.”

Mountain Kui’s words jolted Wen Yu.

”Oh, you almost made me forget, the bulk of Demon Race Corpse and the Soul Energy collected by the military, right? Haven’t I handed all that over to you? Just discuss it with Fran.”

Mountain Kui now serves as Wen Yu’s chief caretaker. After five years, the military can no longer offer anything that piques Wen Yu’s interest. The remaining trades are akin to what’s done with the Star of Africa, exchanging skill scrolls for large quantities of Demon Beast Corpses and Soul Crystal stones. These trivial matters don’t require Wen Yu’s direct involvement.

”Yes, Master, Fran wants to meet you personally this time. Reportedly, the matter you’ve been inquiring about has gained clarity from the military.”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu paused slightly with the drink in his right hand before placing the cup back on the table.

”Wait a moment, I’ll be there soon.”

...

Black Light flickered lightly, disappearing instantly in the room, almost simultaneously reappearing at the foot of a mountain nearly 3,000 meters high in central Africa. Wen Yu’s figure slowly solidified there.

The area surrounding the mountain was lush with grass but desolate and uninhabited. Soon, affectionate spiritual fluctuations approached from all directions.

”It’s the Master.”

”The Master is back.”

”Wow, the Master looks even more handsome...”

”I like that comment.”

Wen Yu jestingly responded, then soothed the chattering Soul Puppet Larva nearby with spiritual fluctuations, ignoring the military aircraft resembling a platter beside him, and strode toward the mountain’s base ahead.

As Wen Yu approached, the mountain slightly trembled, then a deep passage gradually opened at the mountain base, seemingly welcoming the returning master.

...

Inside Mountain Kui, in the Soul Experiment Lab.

After five years of development, Mountain Kui has expanded considerably. Fran stood within the Soul Experiment Lab, observing dozens of neatly arranged skill production lines ahead, listening to the continuous machine roar beside him, a complex emotion rising in his heart.

The entire low-level skills of Star of Africa are produced and crafted here. It’s no exaggeration to say that over seventy percent of the world’s C-Class to A-Class skills are produced here and distributed elsewhere. To describe this place as a world factory is not excessive.

Outsiders might marvel at Star of Africa’s ability to generate wealth, but those familiar with the inside story know that this is the core area of Wen Yu’s power. The skill scrolls produced here daily, if converted to magic crystals, represent a figure enough to make the military’s eyes redden and hearts race.

Faced with such enticing profit, the military naturally harbored some improper thoughts. The production lines were initially developed and assembled by the military. However, the core Creation Energy is controlled by Wen Yu, the military lacked the capability and dared not seize Wen Yu’s profit point, only watching Wen Yu amass wealth while proactively cooperating with him.

Thinking of Wen Yu, Fran couldn’t help but reflect on the world’s development over the past five years, feeling a myriad of emotions.

Facts prove that Lin Haifeng’s decision to seal Tang Two was indeed wise—a mature power needs peace and stability. By this logic, the military certainly didn’t need someone like Tang Two, who possessed strength as well as ambition.

Lin Haifeng’s character assessment of Wen Yu was piercingly accurate, straight to the bone.

As the indisputable strongest figure in the current world, Wen Yu himself harbored no ambition nor pursued trouble unnecessarily. In other words, as long as Wen Yu’s needs were met, he was the ideal partner for cooperation.

With a powerful expert like Wen Yu overseeing Earth, the so-called demon plague became a laughingstock. The combination of five soul pets and five spirit puppets dominates the entire world, stationed across various continents. The military assisted Wen Yu in establishing the Star of Africa and expanding its influence, while at the All Races conference, Wen Yu leveraged his formidable strength to intimidate various races, assisting the Human Race implicitly and explicitly. Such collaboration increased the military’s influence on the world rapidly. Wen Yu and the Yanjing military engaged in a mutually beneficial alliance, enjoying considerable ease.

But unfortunately...

As Wen Yu’s strength improved, the military’s development gradually fell out of sync with Wen Yu’s actual power. The current military Protector God—Demigod, before Wen Yu, was entirely overwhelmed—whether he could defeat Wen Yu’s soul pet, remains a doubtful question!
