Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The first layer of the Dimensional Maze was an endless grassland.

There were bits and pieces of Demon Fiend corpses scattered everywhere. Following the principle of not wasting anything, Wen Yu walked while using the Almighty Demon Vine to absorb the essence from the flesh and blood until he received a slight resistance feedback from the vine, at which point he stopped.

”A human corpse, hmm, it’s been dead for some time. Probably a member of the Walter squad, the first to enter here.”

He casually unleashed a wave of dark energy, blasting a deep pit into the ground. Wen Yu swung the Almighty Demon Vine, sweeping the flesh into the pit, and then covered it with soil.

Others may not have time or might fear unknown dangers, but Wen Yu wasn’t afraid of these things. As for the humans who died here, Wen Yu indeed held the necessary respect for them—at least digging a pit for these warriors so that they wouldn’t be left in the wilderness was necessary.

After completing this small task, Wen Yu lifted his watch, adjusted his direction, and walked forward slowly.

”Hmm, sixty-eight Demon Race corpses. According to the feedback from the Almighty Demon Vine, sixty-two of them were Peak Level 6 demon fiends, and six were Limit Breakthrough Level demon fiends. It seems that the battle concluded with a victory for the Walter squad in a short time. Judging by the state of the corpses, it should all be Walter’s doing. Tsk tsk, this Walter is quite something now...”

Wen Yu took the time to evaluate Walter’s general power level. After finishing this, the next portal was already in sight.

As he stepped into the portal, the dizziness dissipated, and he found himself in an icefield.

The ground was still littered with corpses, but there were no losses. All the bodies were left by the Demon Tribe. After a simple glance, Wen Yu continued deeper into the Dimensional Maze, checking his direction.

As he passed one scene after another, one wonder after another, in no time, he arrived at an uninhabited desert.

”I saw five hundred eighty-two Demon Race corpses along the way, and there are three human ones, along with blood belonging to Walter’s. Hmm, a large quantity; the three corpses should all be members of the Walter squad, even Walter himself is seriously injured. However, you guys, your path was a bit lost.”

Checking the pointer on his watch, Wen Yu raised his head to survey the surroundings. At this moment, the pointer on the watch clearly pointed to somewhere unknown on Wen Yu’s right. However, based on the feedback from the soul connection, Cyclops, Star, and Luo Luo were currently in the unknown space before Wen Yu...

In one space, there were multiple portal pathways—yet, with the directive watch, Walter and Cyclops had both entered the wrong space.

Wen Yu easily imagined a scene—Walter, seriously injured and fleeing in a panic, accidentally entered the wrong space, then encountered some high-risk incidents in that space, which trapped Walter. Cyclops, following Walter’s scent, arrived here with the intention of rescuing Walter before tackling the maze, but ended up bringing the team into this space and falling into an illusion...

Maybe the process had some deviations, but that should roughly be the situation.

At this thought, Wen Yu gazed at the unknown ahead, a hint of an intrigued smile curling at his lips.

”Let me see what’s inside that’s fun...”

...

It was dark, but the air was still fresh, with a misty drizzle.

This was Wen Yu’s first impression after teleporting. As his sight gradually brightened, what came into view was a narrow, worn alley.

Directly in front was an ash-gray wall. Wen Yu glanced briefly at his body—about 1.5 meters tall, wearing the school uniform of M City’s Third Middle School.

”Pop.”

A sudden slap came from behind his head. Wen Yu felt a strong force hit the back of his head, causing his neck to tilt forward and his forehead to slam hard against the wall in front of him.

”Thud.”

”Hey kid, got any money?”

A lazy voice came from behind. Hearing the familiar voice, Wen Yu’s dormant memories began to awaken in his mind.

School bullying...

A common theme, however, as a child from an ordinary family, there was often only one choice in such situations.

”What did I choose back then? Ah, I think it was to pay up to avoid trouble... Then came endless bullying, being treated like an ATM, yeah, something like that...”

He gently rubbed his forehead, the swelling already beginning to subside. At the same time, the power in his body began to flow, causing his once youthful physique to start growing taller and stronger.

As expected before, his formidable soul power was completely unfazed by any illusion technique, even though this illusion might have been at a quite high level.

However, the voice from behind did not stop, though it became somewhat distorted...

”Wen... Yu... this’s... my... bro... you’d better...”

”Heh.”

The now-restored Wen Yu, wearing the strikingly styled Heaven-covering Robe, slowly turned around, first seeing a few faces blurred by mosaic.

”This visual style, really sucks.”

”You’d... better...”

The distorted voice continued its chaotic srill, as Wen Yu slowly gathered points of black light in his hand.

”Is this all... really disappointing!”

”Boom!”

The dark roar blasted, and the black energy wave instantly obliterated everything in front of him. Wherever the darkness passed, the space seemed to corrode, emitting a series of creaks and cracks.
