Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

I had anticipated the difficulty of this journey, but when I truly stepped into this Danger Ground, the developments still mocked the poverty of my imagination.

Well then, where should I begin? Let’s start with that large, dark, and hard thing that fell from the sky.

Origin Extraction Device, as a Sequence-class powerful expert, I naturally had heard of it long ago. At that time, I was on the battlefield, leading my troops to clear out the surrounding Demon Fiends. This task wasn’t particularly challenging for me, after all, I’m a Sequence-class powerful expert, and though I’m not in the Sequence, my strength is not much inferior to the last-ranked in the Sequence.

Honestly, when I saw that black tube, I felt furious inside. It was like the Demon Tribe was forcibly overtaking Earth—how could I stand that?

I couldn’t stand it!

Therefore, under Lord Kasu’s summons, I resolutely joined the elite squad, prepared to break through the Dimensional Maze with the combined strength of all powerful experts on the main battlefield!

Don’t be timid! Just do it!

At the time, my anger was at its peak. Come to think of it, who wouldn’t be overwhelmed in that situation?

So, I charged up with Lord Kasu—counting him in, there were eight Sequence-class powerful experts in the first wave, and three divine beasts species.

Such strength, so many powerful experts—back in my former country, it would have been a force capable of destroying heaven and earth.

Especially Lord Kasu, as Sequence Number 5, he’s rumored to be the fourth strongest of the Human Race now. This man, called Apostle of God, astonishingly has thirty thousand physique points!

Thirty thousand points! Can you believe it? That’s six times the physique of a normal Peak Level 6 professionist! Six times...

So, I couldn’t help but have a thought.

This mission is in the bag!

Honor, fame, within reach—as long as we break through the Dimensional Maze, not mentioning the army’s rewards, just think about that reputation. Oh, hahaha, soon I can, just like Lord Protector God, experience the joy of being a groom every night.

Thus, carrying dreams of success and fame, I crawled under the Mountain Giant’s crotch, entering the Dimensional Maze. Well, the scenery inside is quite nice, though I didn’t take the time to appreciate it due to being pressed for time.

I saw Lord Kasu taking out the pointer of the Dimensional Maze, leading us all the way through—a troubled battle, though the Demon Race Corpses along the way caught my attention.

”These are remnants left by Walter’s squad and Cyclops’s squad.”

Lord Kasu’s words enlightened me—an elite squad had already set out ahead.

This was a good thing, well, at least it meant that most of the obstacles ahead had been cleared by the predecessors—reducing the danger, although sharing some of the credit made me a bit upset, still, saving the world is such a great achievement, even if some credit is divided, what’s the harm?

Therefore, like a shadow, I followed behind Lord Kasu, walking and walking, until we passed through a new teleportation tunnel and were ambushed.

My heart tightened, no one had been here before, we were ahead of Walter’s squad, the danger level skyrocketed, fortunately, we had our leader!

When I saw Lord Kasu glowing all over in pure white light, like an angel descending, I was dazzled.

”Heaven’s Arms!”

Well, this was Lord Kasu’s ultimate skill, not waiting for me to make a move, Lord Kasu had already swept clean the ambushed Demon Tribe in this space.

Effortless and joyous! This mission is in the bag! Of course, flattery is still necessary.

”Lord Kasu is valiant and majestic! Merciful God is invincible!”

Although I don’t believe in the Lord, I do know how to flatter.

Then I saw Lord Kasu turn around, giving me a gentle smile, ”Stay behind me later, I’ll do my best to keep you safe...”

Alright, what a bargain, well, even the Apostle of God can’t resist my flattery skills!

I obediently stood behind Lord Kasu, meeting the envious, jealous, and hateful gazes of the others, I stood tall and proud.

”Tch, so what if you know how to flatter...”

Vaguely, I seemed to hear the sour remarks from my colleagues, but no worries, good flattery warrants a thick skin, that’s what you call an advantage!

”Speed up.”

Lord Kasu ended this farce.

Humph,

I couldn’t help but pout, hadn’t flaunted enough yet...

...

With Lord Kasu leading the way, the next part of the journey was thrilling but without danger, the traps of the Demon Tribe were brutally eliminated by Lord Kasu, countless Demon Bastards were slain.

Though, I don’t know if it was my illusion, I always felt that the number of Demon Fiends we killed wasn’t as much as the Demon Race Corpses seen earlier.

Perhaps it was because they could move freely in this space, and a portion of the Demon Tribe had run to intercept Walter’s squad in earlier spaces.

This was truly a blessing from heaven! The more firepower Walter’s squad attracted, the closer we were to success! Perfect!

I couldn’t help but fall into the fantasy of double gains of fame and profit until I bumped into Lord Kasu’s back.

”The next space is the endpoint of the Dimensional Maze.”

Lord Kasu was gravely serious, I stopped imagining this and that, the power within my body began to stir—seeing the final moment approach, even I rarely became serious.

Success or failure, it all comes down to this!

Watching Lord Kasu enter the teleportation tunnel first, I immediately followed.

Then what?

Then came a sad story...

When I shook off the dizziness brought by the teleportation, the first thing I saw was Lord Kasu’s flying figure.

That’s right, flying, that pure white, angelic figure, like a rainbow, tracing a beautifully curved arc before my eyes.

”Lord Kasu is really playful...”

I couldn’t help but tease Lord Kasu’s mischievousness, then suddenly realized something wasn’t quite right—how does the Heaven’s Arms on Lord Kasu look like...

Shattered?

And how is Lord Kasu’s right hand gone, and the blood on Lord Kasu’s lips...

”Be careful!”

A weak and painful warning from Lord Kasu reached my ears. I stared dumbly ahead.

There stood a Furious Demon nearly five meters tall, swinging a giant Stone Hammer, at this moment, this Furious Demon was posing as if playing baseball—and it seemed the ball was Lord Kasu.

”Wajil, hurry and finish them off! I have a feeling the real prey is about to arrive!”

The deep voice echoed throughout the space. Following the voice, I looked forward, and saw on a pure black chair, a blurry figure covered in black armor, holding a giant sword, sitting there, surrounded in Black Light. Just one look, and I felt a sharp pain in my mind.

”Wajil, received!”

A thick and deep voice sounded.

From the corner of my eye, I saw the Furious Demon ahead swing the Stone Hammer...

The target seemed to be me...

The heavy pressure pinned me down, making me unable to move, watching the Stone Hammer get closer to my head, I could only shout from the bottom of my heart.

”What happened to the mission being in the bag? I shouldn’t have come, damn it!”
