Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Spirit Realm, Weston Forest.

Lush trees and vegetation obscure countless creatures here. This place is abundant with plant-based tools, countless Demon Fiends offering endless points, and numerous hidden treasures within mountain caves; it is a haven for adventurers, a paradise for professionists.

A rustling sound arises, and a Level 1 Soot Skin Demon Fiend cautiously pokes its head out from the bushes.

In the Spirit World’s Treasure Land, the biggest enemy for professionists remains the Demon Tribe; however, this is not the former tiered battleground of the Spirit Realm. In other words, there is no level distinction here; from Level 1 to Level 6, both professionists and Demon Fiends roam the entire Spirit Realm continent.

As one of the most popular adventure spots in the Spirit Realm, the danger level of Weston Forest is self-evident—at least, for this Soot Skin Demon Fiend, this place is full of natural enemies.

The Soot Skin Demon Fiend widened its eyes, carefully observing everything around it, and only after confirming there was no danger did it cautiously move forward, until reaching a shrub. Staring at the Red Fruits on the bush, it swallowed greedily.

It was so hungry...

Its thin arm darted forward, quickly plucking a fruit and putting it into its mouth. The sweet juice burst in its mouth, making the Soot Skin Demon Fiend squint with pleasure.

Until the wind brushed past its ears...

”Whizz... Whizz... Whizz whizz...”

It was indeed the wind, and a Gale of Level 10 or above! The suddenly explosive Sound Explosion didn’t take the Soot Skin Demon Fiend’s life, but it blew its frail body straight up into the sky, where it floated for nearly 5 seconds before ”boom,” landing back on the ground.

Feeling dizzy, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend looked bewildered; what was that just now... something seemed to run past it...

Probably some high-level life forms.

Perhaps Level 6...

Thinking of this, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend shivered.

Level 1 compared to Level 6 is a world of difference! The Gale stirred up by Level 6 life forms alone is enough to annihilate this tiny Level 1 Demon Creature, luckily, those few guys who passed by just now didn’t pay attention to the Soot Skin Demon Fiend.

Its stunned brain finally processed what had happened, and the Soot Skin Demon Fiend patted its chest in relief; it truly was a narrow escape. Knowing this place was too dangerous, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend just stood up, intending to leave this perilous site, but suddenly, the wind swirled again around it.

However, this time, the Goddess of Luck did not stand by the Soot Skin Demon Fiend.

The howling Gale whisked the Soot Skin Demon Fiend far, far away; this wasn’t lethal, but a bullet slicing through from a distance was.

The steel bullet solidly struck the Soot Skin Demon Fiend’s head, shooting it back home. Subsequently, a raucous and malicious voice came from afar.

”Oh hahaha, 5 points, this shot wasn’t a loss!”

...

”Quiet!”

Shen Zhongzheng glared at his nearby teammate, whose eyes were flushed red and filled with murderous intent, and couldn’t help but shout loudly.

This shout didn’t have the desired effect; the teammate with the Dual Guns merely sneered disdainfully before firing again at a certain spot.

”Bang...”

With the gunshot, 2 points were added to the score. From this number of points, it’s clear what kind of creature the Dual Guns man just killed.

”The captain told you to be quiet, you fool! Your gunshots, the smell of gunpowder, and the stench of blood all affect my perception.”

A short, stout man behind Shen Zhongzheng shouted. Unexpectedly, the Dual Guns man, as if provoked, raised his Dual Guns and unleashed a volley at the voiced teammate!

One by one, the orange-yellow bullets hovered in front of the stout man’s body. Looking at this madman who draws guns upon disagreement, the stout man took two deep breaths, suppressing the irritation in his heart.

Shen Zhongzheng also couldn’t help but surge with anger; looking at the indifferent Dual Guns man, he forcibly reined in his fury, and with a captain’s posture, calmly explained the difficulties of the current mission to the Dual Guns man again.

”Gunfire, save some energy. We only have three people, the enemies have four. For the mission, you’d better drop that crazy attitude; you should think about how they’ll deal with us if we can’t retrieve the goods.”

When Shen Zhongzheng mentioned ”they,” Gunfire’s breath caught, even his footsteps faltered, he sniffed vehemently, then nodded.

”Just to be clear, once the opponents are settled, those four women are mine.”

Although a temporary team, Shen Zhongzheng and the stout man knew Gunfire’s peculiar hobby. But in the apocalypse, having a hobby is normal—right or wrong doesn’t matter, what matters is ability and strength!

Pity those four women being pursued... Tsk tsk, although all at Peak Level 6, people can’t be the same, right? The three of them are elite soldiers trained by the military; with a mastery of skills, tools, and combat experience, the outcome was already determined.

As expected...

Despite having the same physical strength, the differences in skill and combat experience allowed Shen Zhongzheng and the other two, within three minutes, to catch up to the mission targets. With the roar of Gunfire’s Dual Guns, the battle began.

And concluded within another three minutes.

...

Gunfire’s Dual Guns gleamed with Black Light, enhanced by a certain skill. Bullet after bullet, imbued with soul-stirring magic, blasted toward the tall, nearly two-meter figure with a head full of silver hair straight ahead.

Screeches of tearing sounded continuously; within a second, Gunfire fired at least a thousand bullets. The steel storm formed by the bullets turned the opponent into drifting silver light, revealing the four women behind, either lying or sitting, covered in wounds.

”This time’s prey, good quality...”

Gunfire licked the corner of his mouth, eyes wickedly fixed on the four women, until Shen Zhongzheng stepped forward, speaking to the four, ”Give me the space ring.”

He extended his right hand, as simply as if asking a friend for candy.

The woman at the front gritted her teeth, glaring furiously at the three ahead. Sensing the despair in her three allies’ eyes behind her, after a long while, she reluctantly removed the space ring from her right index finger, its white glow shimmering softly.

”If I give you the ring, will you spare us?”

”Yes!”

Shen Zhongzheng nodded, his square face seeming quite persuasive.

”I don’t trust your lies!”

The woman holding the space ring flung it far away, while the three teammates behind her quickly leaped up, fleeing in different directions, and the woman at the front once more gritted her teeth to activate her strongest skill!

Indestructible Flashing Bluestar (SSS-Class, Active Skill)!

As silver light flickered, a tall, robust figure with a head full of silver hair gradually appeared in front of the woman.

Yet...

”Hum...”

A sneer sounded; Shen Zhongzheng paid no heed to this so-called ”strongest skill,” merely asking the stout man beside him. ”Is the stuff still here?”

”The seal I placed on the space ring hasn’t been broken; the stuff should still be there.”

”Good, that’s fine, mission accomplished. Gunfire, finish her off!”
