Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

This illusion, cannot possibly withstand Wen Yu’s power!

When the dark tide wiped away everything in front of Wen Yu, the scene before his eyes drastically changed. In the next second, Wen Yu was already standing in a magnificent hall.

”Submit! Or die!”

On the throne, Tang Haofei’s familiar face appeared expressionless, clad in yellow robes, and beneath him were two rows of neatly arranged powerful experts from the military. At this moment, Tang Haofei seemed to be destined by heaven, above tens of thousands.

And Wen Yu, only stood shackled in the center of the hall, facing the surrounding eyes that were filled with ridicule and mockery.

”Sequence Number 2 traversed an era, but in the end, isn’t he going to submit to King Tang!”

”That’s right, Sequence Number 2 used to be so impressive, heard he once ruled over a mountain in Africa alone as king. I also heard, Sequence Number 2’s power used to be on par with King Tang. What about now?”

”Haha, now it’s just a fate of being settled with a single punch! All soul pets are dead, if it weren’t for King Tang cherishing talent, Sequence Number 2... hehe... is just a nothing...”

The noisy voices filled his eardrums. Looking at the so-called ”King Tang” seated high on the throne, Wen Yu slightly furrowed his brows.

”What is this supposed to mean...”

”Submit! Or die!”

The voice roared like divine beings, and at this moment, Wen Yu was indeed shaken, causing pain in his eardrums. However, the true cognitive memory was not affected, or rather, the person who set up the illusion did not have the capability to impact Wen Yu’s soul.

Knowing it’s false, why does Wen Yu bother acting along with it?

Yet, Wen Yu still hadn’t figured out what exactly this illusion was for...

”Submit! Or die!”

Tang Haofei’s voice carried a hint of urgency, Wen Yu’s peripheral vision scanned the throne, only to see Tang Haofei had stood up and was striding toward him.

At this moment, Ray flashed all over Tang Haofei, as he raised his right fist high, slamming it fiercely toward Wen Yu’s forehead: ”You’ve chosen death, then I’ll grant it to you!”

”Hiss~”

Black light burst out from Wen Yu’s body, enveloping ”King Tang’s” body, and in a short time, the so-called King Tang was completely corroded by the dark force.

”Just you... ah...”

A shell propped up by illusion, without the slightest physical quality.

”I still don’t understand what you’re playing at... So, let’s end this, I’m in a hurry.”

”Bang.”

The shackles on his body shattered, and in the next second, dense darkness swept in all directions!

During this time, Wen Yu had already understood the true nature of this illusion - nothing more than something akin to a barrier, and such things always have a limit to the power they can withstand. Now, Wen Yu just wanted to unleash all his power to break this limit.

In this way, the so-called illusion can naturally be resolved.

Unfortunately, an unknown object existing somewhere was clearly unwilling to accept its defeat.

In the next second, the scene before Wen Yu’s eyes changed again!

...

”What kind of trick is it this time.”

As the scene changed, Wen Yu was truly annoyed.

It’s just repeating these useless scenes, for the second time, Wen Yu already felt he’s wasting his life, now that the Origin Extraction Device had appeared, if not for saving Cyclops and the soul pets, Wen Yu really couldn’t care less about what illusion or no illusion.

As the saying goes, ”third time’s the charm.” At this moment, Wen Yu truly wanted to activate the Soul Battlefield to directly shatter this damn illusion!

However, as he just activated the skill, Wen Yu immediately interrupted it, gazing silently at the familiar figure before him.

Now, Wen Yu found himself in a worn-out private car, seated in the back seat, while a middle-aged man and woman in the front were talking blandly about various daily trifles.

”What to eat at home.”

”Tomato scrambled eggs, and there’s a carp; Xiaoyu, do you want it steamed or braised? You’re about to take your college entrance exam, your studies have been tough lately, mom will make something delicious for you.”

Dusty memories began to slowly emerge, the two in front had no idea that the person called Xiaoyu behind them was no longer the once delicate boy about to face the entrance exam...

”So it’s this scene, truly...”

A low muttering escaped Wen Yu’s lips until the intense sound of braking and collision crazily echoed.

”Boom!”

A series of rear-end collisions, right beneath Wen Yu’s eyes.

Looking at the battered human figures in the front seat reduced to shreds, Wen Yu’s gaze was profound, expressionless, yet the soul buried deep in his mind was incessantly stirring, the scene ahead began to wrinkle, and the tragic accident scene ruptured like a glass facade until everything shattered, a voice surrounded Wen Yu’s ears.

”Did you feel fear?”

...

”Did you feel fear?”

The low muttering blurred the distinction between genders, only resonating directly with another’s soul.

Upon hearing the reminder from his ears, Wen Yu’s heart suddenly trembled.

”Fear? That scene just now was indeed the most terrifying scene in my heart.”

No need for obscuring or disguising, personally witnessing the scene of parents’ double death is indescribable enormous fear! Even with Wen Yu’s current power, he still couldn’t escape the once deeply ingrained pain.

”Then, die...”

The voice at his ears transformed into an excitable high pitch, in the next second, a gray light formed out of nowhere in front of Wen Yu, swiftly condensing into a gray, ominous dagger. The dagger moved effortlessly, in the blink of an eye, it shot toward Wen Yu’s face!

The flickering gray light dagger seemed to carry some peculiar magic, plunging Wen Yu into deeper fear, while completely ignoring Wen Yu’s horrific energy defense layer and strong physical strength, the sharp blade penetrated Wen Yu’s skin without hindrance, droplets of blood scattered, and once again that excited and altered voice rang in his ear.

”Oh hahaha, you are truly fearful, indeed afraid... Sequence Number 2... greet your death in fear!”

”Die!!!”

”Die?!”

”...Die...”

”You should die...”

The gray dagger halted in front of Wen Yu, the tip had already pierced the skin on his forehead, but couldn’t move further. A pure black large hand forcibly gripped the dagger before Wen Yu’s face, preventing it from continuing.

”This is impossible, you’ve already developed fear, you can’t activate any power, you can’t even move, you can only let me slaughter you!”

”You should die!!!”

The voice in Wen Yu’s ear roared in disbelief, while Wen Yu’s eyes gradually regained clarity from bewilderment.

”Then, do you feel fear?”

”What?”

The voice seemed a little dumbfounded; the dagger on Wen Yu’s forehead was squeezed out of the skin by the strong regenerative ability of his body – this indicates that Wen Yu had recovered from fear.

And fear was the necessary condition for that unknown presence to launch an attack... Without fear, it was nothing...

”Sorry, I wasn’t asking you.”

The eerie dialogue made the dagger before him completely stop moving until the black hand clutching the dagger suddenly uttered a sound.

”Sorry, master, as a Soul Puppet, we are immune to most soul attacks and illusions targeting the soul, so regretfully, I don’t quite understand the meaning of your previous question.”

”Hmm, forget it, just pretend I never asked. Darkness Puppet, capture this entity alive, let me see what the hell is causing trouble right under my nose!”

...

When the illusion was shattered, what remained was reality.

This space wasn’t large, merely over a hundred square meters, the only source of light in the dim space was just a few faint torches surrounding.

The air was stuffy, containing some strange odor – somewhat like a mix of the smell of blood, rotting flesh, and excrement.

Of course, the smell wasn’t the focus; the focus was this dim room, which was perfectly suitable for the power of Darkness Puppet to manifest.

From the shadow cast by the torchlight at Wen Yu’s feet, a tinge of black light began to float, then darkness extended, instantly engulfing the entire room. When darkness gathered again, a stream of transparent air was already restrained by the darkness.

Gazing at the constantly writhing airflow before him, Wen Yu slightly moved his stiff body.

”That ability just now, hmm, very interesting, awakening an enemy’s deepest fear and then suppressing any power within them? There should also be effects of ignoring defenses and a guaranteed instant kill, right.”

”The nature of this being should be a Soul Puppet; let me see what kind of entity your true form is.”

”Hmm, it’s really just about fear?”

”Quite impressive, I’m fond of you.”

”So...”

Wen Yu slowly reached out his right hand, the Creation Energy quickly surged from the palm.

”Now, do you feel fear?”
