Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The artillery barrage has ended, leaving nothing but a landscape of craters and four towering Mountain Giants on the battlefield.

The most advanced weaponry of humans not only daunts themselves but also intimidates the demons present on the battlefield.

So strangely, the entire battlefield fell into a brief silence.

However, the silence was only temporary. As two beams of light shot towards the distant giants, the battle surged once more.

”Is that Victor and... Wen Yu?”

Those with strong eyesight among the powerful professionists could already see the silhouettes enveloped in the two beams of light.

”No, it’s Victor and Faceless.”

The strongest human on the main battlefield, Kasu, scrutinized for a few moments and then shook his head. This wasn’t due to any visible difference between Faceless and Wen Yu, but because Kasu was familiar with their detailed tactical arrangements.

But...

Since the big brother has already taken action, there’s no need for us juniors to worry about it.

Soon, the tactical arrangements from the rear were reported to Kasu.

”Order: The Second Elite Army under Kasu’s command is to head to the front line to deal with a Stone Giant. Order: The Third Elite Army under Qin Min’s command is to head to the front line to deal with a Stone Giant. Once the tasks are completed, Kasu and Qin Min will each lead an elite squad to enter the Dimensional Maze...”

The orders were abundant and seemingly chaotic, yet in that chaotic environment, these directives from Fran were undoubtedly the guiding light.

Kasu put down the document in his hand, glanced at the most elite Second Elite Army from Yanjing behind him, and raised his right hand high: ”Warriors, now is our...”

”Boom!”

A violent sound exploded, interrupting Kasu’s impromptu speech. For a moment, he only felt his ears buzzing. Looking back, he immediately saw the drastic changes in the distance.

The battle between Victor and Faceless was smooth — being large doesn’t mean being powerful. The small figures of Faceless and Victor resembled two highly combative micro bombers, constantly circling the four puppets, while the four puppets staggered as if drunk, facing the small and fast opponents without any real power to counterattack, only mechanically raising their hands for futile counterattacks.

It’s possible that by the time Kasu led the army to the battlefield, Victor and Faceless might have already resolved the Four Soul Puppets.

But the problem wasn’t with Victor and Faceless.

At this moment, right above the four puppets, in that sky shrouded in black light, blue lightning bolts were darting across the sky, bearing the momentum of tearing through space, continuously traversing the space — since the military attack began, the sky has been like this, and now, after hours of no change, the spatial fissures finally resulted in the ultimate transformation following the artillery attack.

Blue lightning intertwined and merged, then Kasu suddenly noticed a faint glow emerging from the sky, which grew brighter and more dazzling, until when it became too bright for Kasu to look directly at it, another ”boom” sound echoed in his ears.

The ground began to tremble, and even with Kasu’s strength, he felt unstable underfoot. As cries of alarm kept sounding around, when Kasu once again looked up at the sky, he could only see the sky shattered. A long, black, and thick tube had rushed out from the end of the sky, directly plunging into the gray light guarded by the four giants.

The Dimensional Maze’s light enfolded the Origin Extraction Device seamlessly, becoming the final protective barrier for the device. However, even now, the main army remained entangled with the Demon Tribe, and only a dozen or so had entered the Dimensional Maze.

It’s hard to say who has the upper hand, but Kasu understood that this condition was indeed at the most critical juncture.

”Lieutenant! Lieutenant! The command of the army is handed over to you.”

Kasu threw the communicator to his deputy.

The lieutenant was puzzled: ”Sir, what are you...”

Looking at the Origin Extraction Device advancing slowly in the sky, a hint of hatred flashed across Fran’s eyes.

”The regular army is useless now. I have a more important task.”

...

”That must be the Origin Extraction Device.”

”Ah...”

Fran’s answer was ambiguous, like a low murmur, yet Wen Yu understood what was in Fran’s heart — it was the same as what Wen Yu himself was thinking.

”A long and thick tube has inserted into the ground. Tsk tsk, this symbolism is truly embarrassing.”

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s voice, Fran fell into a brief silence, but his expression clearly showed his feeling of shame and anger at this scene.

”The frontline commanders have separated from the main force, advancing towards the Dimensional Maze’s location. Yes, I had intended to arrange it like this; it seems their level of anger is no less than mine now.”

After hearing Fran’s tactical arrangement, Wen Yu paused for a moment in silence, then tightened his collar.

”The regular army is of no use already. The four Soul Puppets ahead are neither strong enough nor agile enough to intercept anything. Just Faceless and Victor are enough to dismantle them. Have the strongmen and powerful divine beasts in the military push their way into the Dimensional Maze.”

Wen Yu’s tone was urgent and then he turned to leave.

”Are you going out?”

Fran couldn’t help but ask.

”Indeed.”

”But...”

”No buts!”

Wen Yu interrupted Fran abruptly, then pointed towards the large black tube on the horizon.

”Actually, this situation is what I anticipated, but witnessing it firsthand, I still can’t contain my emotions...”

”I know you’re scared that there might still be a treasure land, or another Treasure Land Protector, then what should be done. However, there’s nothing to be afraid of. Since Tang Haofei dares to challenge a Level 11 powerful expert, what reason do I have to be afraid? Besides, I’d like to see what kind of a head this so-called Level 11 big guy has.”

Wen Yu spoke as he walked, and in no time, he was already at the entrance of the dark room.

”Wait!”

Fran called to Wen Yu with two words, then picked up the coat beside him and quickly walked to Wen Yu’s side.

”Take me with you.”

Wen Yu raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing the frail frame of Old Man Fran, then shook his head with a smile.

”If you leave, what happens to the military deployment outside?”

”With or without me, it’s the same; a grand army doesn’t need me to be mobilized.”

Fran spoke lightly, then rubbed his hands: ”I have to admit, these demon bastards angered me; next, it’s time for me to make my move.”
