Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Nagato Wasn’t Asleep Either

After spending a few days together, Kakashi could feel Mei Terumī’s passion. Though she wasn’t very forward, he could sense her desperate feelings.

Kakashi also hesitated; he was already considering accepting her.

But Kano couldn’t stand it anymore. For so many days, her mom had even helped prepare the travel luggage. But they were stuck at that final step, and Kakashi just couldn’t cross it.

Even Mei Terumī complained to Kano, asking if Kakashi was impotent or if he was gay. No matter what she did, Kakashi always maintained that steadfast composure.

Kano had no choice but to tell her that she had another way, though this method was a bit excessive and might hurt Mei Terumī slightly.

Mei Terumī didn’t think it was a problem; she was only worried about whether Kakashi would get angry.

Naruto’s method had been tried; it had some effect, but not much.

Kano’s method had been tried; it had an effect, but fell just a bit short.

There was no other way; if anyone was to blame, blame Sasuke.

After another day’s date ended, Kakashi went to the Memorial Stone.

”Obito, should I really accept her? I’m afraid the past will become my future, but I can’t let down such a good person like her.”

After the date, Mei Terumī also came looking for Kakashi.

”Kakashi, are you commemorating your past comrades?”

”Yes.”

Mei Terumī went over as well, clasping her hands together in prayer.

”Our departed comrades must also hope for us to live better lives. We who survived need to shoulder our comrades’ wishes and work hard for peace.”

”Yeah, you’re right. Thank you.”

”You’re welcome.”

Kakashi made a decision in his heart. He shouldn’t keep running away. Her expectations, his students’ expectations, the Hokage’s expectations, his comrades’ expectations, and... ”Kakashi! Hurry up and go marry her! That way you won’t be able to compete with me for Rin!”

If it were his most trusted and best friend from the past, Obito, he would definitely say that... Meanwhile, his best friend Obito.

”No, this must be a genjutsu world! That one was real, this one is fake!”

He was desperately trying to break the genjutsu, even using his Mangekyo Sharingan, but he couldn’t break it. Others explained to him that this was reality, but he didn’t believe them at all; instead, he showed extreme aggression.

For a while, no one could restrain him!

Obito caused a ruckus for a long time before finally calming down. Others in the organization told him he was under an incredibly realistic genjutsu. But Obito didn’t believe it at all—could a genjutsu directly create an entire world?

Only the Infinite Tsukuyomi could probably do that.

Then this must be a parallel world. The world where he and Rin loved each other and that loser Kakashi was under his boot was the original world. So, he had to find a way to go back!

They mentioned a new member who had joined recently, Kashi. It seemed he had returned to the world he belonged to after hearing her song. As long as he found her, he could go back.

Obito went out to find her without a word, and even Nagato couldn’t stop him... Kakashi thought again that this must be Kano’s consideration for him. She was so smart; she definitely didn’t find someone for a blind date just for fun. She must have done it to make him the genius he once was and help him step out of the shadow of losing his comrades.

But if he asked her directly, she would just brush it off with a joke. Thinking about how his student, Kano, was still worrying about his affairs, he felt he was a failure as a teacher.

He couldn’t let down his student’s expectations anymore... Meanwhile, the worried student, Kano, was fretting over the next plan while holding the aphrodisiac, also known as He Huan Powder, that Sasuke had left behind.

”How can I secretly drug a Jonin without being noticed?”

Fortunately, there was a large amount, enough for Kano to use trial and error.

”What are you thinking about?”

During dinner, Shikamaru saw that his sister was distracted and clearly up to no good. So, while tossing and turning at night, he couldn’t sleep and went to find Kano, only to discover she really wasn’t asleep.

Kano wasn’t in her room but in the study. Shikamaru planned to ask in advance to see if he was the one who was going to suffer.

”Do you think a ’room you can’t leave unless you do XX’ is better, or ’a room you can’t leave once you’ve done XX but is filled with He Huan Powder’ is better?”

”That’s way too evil! You’re not planning to use that on me, are you?”

”No. If it were for you, I wouldn’t even tell you.”

Shikamaru instantly felt a chill; she really did have thoughts of dealing with him.

”So, who do you plan to use it on?”

”Kakashi-sensei. This is also a method Sasuke left behind. I personally didn’t want to use it, but alas, it’s Sasuke’s final wish.”

”Don’t make it sound like Sasuke is dead. Besides, you look like you’re itching to try it.”

”Big brother, why don’t you help me think of a way to pour this medicine into Kakashi-sensei’s mouth?”

”This much is a lethal dose; he’d be full just eating it as a meal. Have some moderation when drugging; this much is enough.”

Shikamaru took out a tiny bit to show his sister. He was afraid Kano would accidentally feed him too much and cause something bad to happen to Kakashi. You have to know, Kano had done something as bizarre as eating a handful of sleeping pills before.

”I know that, I’m not stupid. After all, Kakashi-sensei is a Jonin. To drug him, I have to consider the possibility of failure. That’s why I prepared more for trial and error.”

”This doesn’t really seem like your style. Aside from dealing with me, you usually use threats or bribes.”

”This really isn’t my plan; it’s the method Sasuke left behind.”

”Then did Sasuke say anything? Does he have a plan?”

”He didn’t say. How about we ask him?”

”He’s already gone. Isn’t it a bit late to ask now?”

”I can contact him.”

”How?”

”I can use this snake to talk to him in real-time.”

”Forget it, he’s probably asleep by now.”

”I bet he’s not.”

Kano tapped the snake’s head twice, connecting to Sasuke’s Phone Snake. Since she had called Orochimaru last time, she had him specially prepare one for Sasuke to save him the trouble of traveling to find him.

Now, one tap was to call Orochimaru, and two taps were to call Sasuke.

”Hello? Sasuke, are you asleep? I know you’re not.”

After a whole day of high-intensity training, Sasuke, who had just fallen asleep, was woken up by the sound of the Phone Snake.

”Who is it? What’s the matter?”

”See, I told you, Sasuke wasn’t asleep either.”

Sasuke wasn’t asleep either.

As soon as he heard Kano’s voice, he knew it wasn’t anything important, so Sasuke slapped the Phone Snake to death on the spot and went back to sleep.

Shikamaru felt that Sasuke didn’t look like he hadn’t slept, but more like he had been woken up.

”Uh, the other person’s Phone Snake seems to have hung up.”

”Call again?”

Kano wasn’t giving up and wanted to ask again.

”Forget it, it’s late. Let’s sleep.”

”Alright then, I’m sleepy too.”

Unlike before, Kano couldn’t stay up late anymore. Since Shikamaru said so, she prepared to go to sleep.
