Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 175: Chapter 175 Kisame also walked over to Itachi’s side.

Kisame also walked over to Itachi’s side.

”So, are we going to do as she said?”

Both Itachi and Kisame looked at Konan; she was the leader of this mission.

”We will search around Konoha Village first. If we can’t find her, we will go and trade with her. We aren’t as pressed for time this time, but we must avoid contact with Konoha’s Ninjas from now on.”

”You’re saying I fainted because I ate a poisonous mushroom?”

Sakura’s head felt a bit uncomfortable. In her memory, she had encountered an S-rank rogue Ninja, cast a genjutsu, and then ended up under a genjutsu herself. Her memory stopped there.

But Kano told her that she had accidentally eaten a poisonous mushroom. This made it hard for Sakura to believe Kano’s words.

”At the time, you said, ’This mushroom looks so pretty, I’ve never eaten one before. I’ll eat one to taste it and see what happens.’”

After saying this, she even took out a colorful poisonous mushroom with a bite mark on it.

”No matter how you look at it, it doesn’t look like I was the one who bit it! That Shadow Ninja lying on the ground over there looks more like he ate a poisonous mushroom!”

Next to them, a Shadow Ninja was lying on the ground, gnawing on a tree trunk. Kano had indeed made this Shadow Ninja take a bite earlier to test the effect.

Sakura felt like Kano was pranking her just like she would Naruto.

”Forget it, I’m not someone who hides everything, so it’s fine to tell you. We did indeed run into the rogue Ninja Uchiha Itachi earlier, but he was only looking for someone and had no intention of harming us. Besides, he is the person Sasuke wants to kill, so we don’t need to worry about him; Sasuke will take his revenge himself.”

Sakura thought of Sasuke again. When he left that night, Sakura had accidentally run into him, but she couldn’t make him stay. She had wanted to leave with him but was rejected. She still couldn’t stop thinking about him.

Sakura was different from Ino. Ino liked Sasuke because he was handsome. Sakura liked Sasuke because Sasuke was Sasuke.

”Kano, can we hurry up and contact the teachers to capture Uchiha Itachi together? If we do that, wouldn’t Sasuke-kun be able to come back?”

Kano was stunned for a moment, then said, ”You aren’t seriously always this brave, are you?”

In Konoha Village, how many people could withstand the glare attack from Itachi’s little eyeballs? Even Kano had to be on guard; if one accidentally made eye contact, it would be a disaster.

”Just do it for Sasuke-kun’s sake...”

”Stop! I have a way to contact Sasuke; you can talk to him yourself.”

As she spoke, Kano took out a scroll and summoned a jar containing a small white snake. This was the Phone Snake that Orochimaru had left for Kano. If there was anything that needed to be arranged, she could contact him through the Phone Snake.

”Hello, can you hear me? Help me transfer the call to Sasuke.”

Orochimaru was still doing experiments, but when he heard his grandmother’s voice, he immediately dropped his work and ran to find his father.

Sasuke’s voice immediately came from the other side of the Phone Snake.

”Kano, what is it? I’m very busy right now, speak quickly if you have something to say.”

”We discovered Uchiha Itachi over here, so I’m just letting you know. Sakura also wants to say a few words to you.”

”Sasuke-kun, how are you doing over there? Are you safe? When can you come back? We all miss you.”

”I can’t beat Itachi for now, so finding him is useless. I won’t return until I have taken my revenge.”

”Then what if we help you capture Uchiha Itachi? Would you be willing to come back?”

”Don’t go, it’s too dangerous.”

The current Sasuke had deeper bonds with his companions than in the original work, mainly because Kano could understand him and was willing to act as a bridge between him and others. Therefore, Sasuke was much more cheerful than in the original work, though he was still cold and distant compared to others.

However, Sakura thought this was Sasuke showing concern for her and was shy for a moment.

Kano clutched her forehead. She felt that Sakura was an even bigger simp than Naruto. At least Kano truly cared about Naruto, whereas Sasuke didn’t actually care about Sakura.

”It doesn’t matter. For you, I’m not afraid of danger!”

”We are just friends; you don’t need to be like this.”

”But I don’t want to be just friends with you.”

Sakura mustered the courage to confess. She felt that she had already won so much. Except for Kano, who didn’t like Sasuke, Sakura knew Sasuke’s secrets and could contact him—she had already won by a landslide compared to Ino!

Sakura waited for Sasuke’s response, feeling anxious and afraid that he would reject her.

However, Sasuke’s answer was something even Kano hadn’t expected.

”You don’t want to be friends? What, do you intend to become my enemy?”
