Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Becoming a Principal

”So, where did you say you went?”

Tsunade summoned Kano to the office, and this time Kano went obediently.

”I had some important things to do.”

”What could be more important than your comrades? If you had been there yesterday, Sasuke definitely wouldn’t have been able to leave.”

”Don’t be angry, Master. I deliberately avoided the Sasuke situation. I knew that if I came, you would definitely send me to chase after him. If I went after Sasuke, even Orochimaru couldn’t stop me.”

”You knew that and still hid on purpose?”

”I agreed to let Sasuke leave; he’ll grow faster out there.”

”Do you have any idea that Orochimaru wants to use Sasuke as a reincarnation vessel? You’re harming him!”

”It’s fine. After I killed Orochimaru last time, he already reincarnated once. He’ll have to wait three years before he can do it again. Besides, he can’t handle Sasuke. I’ve also threatened Orochimaru; he won’t touch Sasuke.”

”Then you have the heart to just watch him leave?”

”I don’t like holding back my comrades; I only hope to give them a hand on the path they’ve chosen. If I had stopped Sasuke, he wouldn’t have a single shred of attachment left for Konoha Village. At least now he feels there’s someone in Konoha who understands him. If I had stopped him, even if he stayed, he would have become a rogue Ninja sooner or later.”

”But if you don’t stop him, he’s gone. Won’t you feel any reluctance to let him go?”

”I made a promise with him. Once he gets his revenge, he’ll come back. He’s not really betraying Konoha; he’s just out on a mission that will take a bit of time.”

Master, you also know the Uchiha Clan is more or less a bit paranoid. Otherwise, your Granduncle wouldn’t have wanted to eliminate the Uchiha.”

Tsunade rested her head on her hand, seemingly persuaded by Kano.

What could she do? She couldn’t win in a fight, and she couldn’t win an argument either.

”Fine, since you’ve arranged everything, I won’t say more. I’ll stay out of Sasuke’s business. You go talk to Naruto yourself. He listens to you so much, don’t let him cause trouble and run off too.”

Tsunade flipped through the notebook in her hand and moved on to the next matter.

”The village is going to build an Arts Ninja Academy specifically to train Ninjas who are good at singing and dancing. This is a project funded and specifically requested by the Daimyo. Give me some input on this part of the construction; after all, you are the principal of this school.”

This statement gave Kano a shock. Why was she suddenly being made a principal? She had only graduated from the Ninja Academy not too long ago.

”For real? Me, a principal? Won’t I be younger than the students?”

”Don’t dwell on it. There aren’t enough professional talents at the start, so you’ll have to start training a few excellent teachers to share your workload. This plan should have started long ago, since the Daimyo specifically asked for it.”

”But those old fogies in the village refused to agree. I argued with them for a long time before it was settled. Why aren’t these old things dead yet? All they do is point fingers and cause trouble.”

Heh, they’ll be dead soon enough.

”Master, let’s discuss the school’s location instead. Do you think it’s better to be closer to the Ninja Academy or further away?”

Kano changed the subject, not wanting to focus the issue on those old things.

”Make it further away. Your teaching will probably be quite noisy, right?”

”What do you mean noisy? The line of people who want to hear me perform could stretch all the way out of the village!”

”I’m not talking about you. I mean in case the students you train aren’t skilled enough and just create noise.”

”Even if I teach now, I can’t teach many. Of course, I’ll choose the talented ones to teach first. That kind of situation won’t happen.”
