Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 179: Chapter 179: It’s Normal for Kids to Throw Tantrums, Right?

”Kashi, did you do this? What did you do?”

”I already told you that my song has a genjutsu, and you were the ones who insisted on listening to it. Wouldn’t it be fine if you just released the genjutsu for them? I’m logging off now, you guys sleep well.”

Kano left a note for Konan, along with a Shadow Ninja skilled in genjutsu, to release the genjutsu for her when it got dark.

Hidan, that guy, was heartless and indifferent; drowning in a genjutsu of happiness didn’t have a strong effect on him. That’s why he was the only one who wasn’t completely controlled, while everyone else was deeply trapped in the genjutsu.

From this, it could be seen that Kano’s genjutsu still had weaknesses. There were two types of people who wouldn’t be controlled: first, those without a heart, who didn’t understand what happiness was; second, those with a pure heart, who had no trauma in their hearts and were currently living in a moment of happiness.

Hidan looked like a pure rotten orange; even the Gentle Land of Falling couldn’t control him. However, he wasn’t really a Ninja to begin with, so any other genjutsu could control him, and she would kill him if given the chance.

She still had to arrange a date for Kakashi-sensei recently, so she headed back first. She would go play at the Akatsuki Organization later when she had time; she could go whenever she wanted after that.

...

It wasn’t until dark that the Shadow Ninja released Konan’s genjutsu. Konan was still dazed after waking up, thinking she had been hit by a genjutsu, and tried to release it several times, but she could never return to the ”original world,” so she finally gave up.

She looked at the letter in the Shadow Ninja’s hand.

To Sister Konan:

When you read this letter, I will have already left. I’m sorry for interrupting your beautiful dream, but the longer you are trapped in the genjutsu, the harder it is to break.

If you want to experience the beautiful dream again, you can come looking for me. If you want to find me in the future, you just need to use the ring to contact me, and then I can appear at the Shadow Ninja’s location, so remember to bring the Shadow Ninja back.

By the way, everyone else is also trapped in the beautiful dream genjutsu. I only woke you up; I’m counting on you to release the genjutsu for the others.

Kashi

Konan finally came back to her senses. It wasn’t just her; even Kisame and Itachi had been caught in the genjutsu.

Itachi was a genjutsu master, so how could he also be caught in a genjutsu! This must be an absurd genjutsu to have such an effect.

Moreover, after the genjutsu was released, apart from feeling a bit dazed and lost, there was no fatigue or mental stress at all. Instead, it felt very comfortable, as if she had a good sleep.

But was the beautiful world in the dream really just a Gentle Land of Falling that could never be realized?

Konan reminisced for a moment, then hardened her gaze and went to wake the other two. When Kisame and Itachi woke up, they were also dazed, unable to distinguish reality from the illusion.

Even Itachi activated his Sharingan to try to break this fake world.

Only after realizing that this was the real world did Itachi close his Sharingan and wipe away the ”blood” left by the Sharingan.

”Is it not blood, but tears?”

”I didn’t expect that Kashi would dare to use genjutsu on us. Could she be an enemy?”

Kisame hefted Samehada and asked Konan for her opinion.

”She is not our enemy. If she were an enemy, we would all be dead by now.”

Kisame thought about it, and it made sense. If she had ill intentions, they would have been dead long ago. He hadn’t expected the world to be full of such talented people; to have such high attainments in genjutsu at such a young age.

Even Itachi felt that this genjutsu was second only to Kotoamatsukami.

”Let’s go back quickly. Everyone else has been controlled by the genjutsu. Kashi left me a note saying that the longer this genjutsu drags on, the harder it is to break. Let’s split up. Kisame, you go to Kakuzu and Hidan; Itachi, you go to Deidara and Sasori; I’ll go back to headquarters.”

The two nodded in agreement and left in three directions.
