Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Sharpening the Axe Does Not Delay the Job of Cutting Wood

”How about this area? It’s not far from the Ninja Academy, but it’s far enough from the residential district. Plus, the children can commute together on their way to and from school, which will prevent any rifts from forming between them.”

Kano arrived at the Ninja Academy and took the opportunity to ask her former teacher, Iruka, for his opinion. His thoughts were quite similar to hers.

Kano decided on the location; it would be perfect to expand it and connect it to the Konoha Cultural Center. This Konoha Cultural Center was built specifically for Kano to hold concerts, with plans to host one every month.

”Thank you for your advice, Iruka-sensei.”

”Don’t mention it. I never expected that you would change the most out of all the kids in your year, Kano. You’ve only just graduated from school, and you’re already going to be the principal of a new school. Your rank is even higher than mine now.”

Kano had another task to do at the Ninja Academy today. She was there to assist the academy in conducting a practical exercise for the younger students, with each person leading a squad to complete a mission objective.

Kano’s goal for this trip was also to scout for good talent, preparing to cultivate them into Idol trainees.

Many of her friends participated in this mission, though some did not.

Ino was currently learning the Mystical Palm Technique under Master Tsunade, so she didn’t have time to come. Neji and Shino hadn’t returned from their missions yet.

That person was also unable to participate in this activity.

”I’m so jealous! Why do they get to be under the Big Sister Boss?”

Konohamaru was very envious of the three classmates who became Kano’s subordinates. Because the three of them were naturally assigned to follow Naruto, and they were well aware of how unreliable Naruto could be.

”You’re so annoying! It’s not just Kano-chan; I’m also very strong, okay!”

Seeing that he was being looked down upon, Naruto started to make a fuss.

In fact, it wasn’t just Konohamaru; other students also wanted to be Kano’s subordinates because Kano’s popularity in Konoha Village was at its peak.

Karin couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration.

”As expected of Big Sister!”

Kano looked at the names of the three students under her command: Takahashi Yang Hui, Watanabe Rio, and Tanaka Renta.

A team of two girls and one boy? That’s a bit rare. Usually, the children who choose to become Ninjas have more boys than girls, which leads to teams usually being composed of two boys and one girl.

Teams like this, with two girls and one boy, are quite rare; it’s probably just because that’s how many people were in the class.

”Why is Shikamaru at the instructor’s table?”

Naruto was the first to notice the interesting point; even though they were in the same year and the others were doing the mission, Shikamaru had already become a proctor for the examination.

”Shikamaru is already a Chunin. He’s different from us; he’s qualified to serve as a proctor.”

Sakura, who was near Naruto, explained. Iruka didn’t give Naruto a chance to continue asking questions and took over the conversation to start speaking.

”Sakura is right. This time, we needed Shikamaru to serve as an instructor’s assistant. Kano could have done it too, but she preferred to help lead a squad of students. Now, let me explain: for this two-day, one-night field exercise, everyone’s destination is here,”

Iruka pointed to a mountain on the map.

”The ’Trickery Rock’ at the summit of ’Trickery Mountain’. To ensure that all squad leaders keep the students safe, please do not take any paths outside of the marked routes on the map.

Along the way, you will encounter fake enemy Ninjas played by us instructors, as well as many traps blocking the path, but as long as the students follow the squad leader’s instructions carefully, you can all avoid them safely.
