The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 250: Chapter 128 This Time It’s a Swindler (1)_3

The woman with the husky voice sighed softly, and seeing that the old lady nodded her agreement, she did not rush the other party for payment, but personally took a bowl to dissolve the pills and poured it into the constantly crying little boy.

During the administration of the medicine, she also made several gestures over the boy’s head.

While the old lady’s attention was diverted, her other hand secretly pressed on several acupoints of the boy.

In just a few minutes, the little boy stopped crying, his eyes still glistening with tears, and the little fellow soon fell asleep.

Having witnessed her grandson, who had cried throughout the night, being so easily handled by Immortal Nun Su, the old lady was thoroughly convinced.

”Immortal Nun Su, I, I will go and get the money right now!”

”Right, that thing about apologizing to the ancestors, we don’t understand, you, you can handle it for us!”

”Whatever it costs, however much it is, just say the word, and we’ll give it!”

The old lady said excitedly.

”No hurry, no hurry, like I said, we’re all from the same village, it’s only right to look out for each other.”

The woman fully played the part of an expert, her tone dripping with a transcendent detachment and nonchalance.

The more she acted like this, the more the old lady dared not shortchange her.

The old lady hurried home, pulled out the money she had saved for half a year from the drawer of her large wardrobe, first counted out two 100 yuan notes, but then felt it wasn’t quite right.

Finally, with a pained heart, she counted out three more and then hurried back.

Including the fifty yuan given earlier, the old lady had given a total of five hundred and fifty yuan.

Had it been for a hospital visit, the old lady would have been heartbroken and would have complained about the hospital’s greed, only interested in swindling money.

But now, handing over the money to a witch, though reluctantly, she wasn’t as resistant.

After all, Immortal Nun Su was a truly able person, just like her husband, the Taoist, both were immortals skilled in communicating with ghosts and gods.

Giving her a few hundred yuan to keep her grandson’s spirit safe, the old lady felt it was very worthwhile.

”Rest assured, tomorrow I will choose an auspicious time to perform the rites for the ancestor, informing him that Xiao Bao has realized his mistake, and will not dare to offend again. Ancestors being elders, surely won’t hold a grudge against a child like Xiao Bao!”

”Of course, if he refuses to reconcile, I, the Immortal Nun, have ways to subdue him.”

The husky-voiced woman said solemnly.

The dominance and confidence in her tone instantly reassured the old lady.

”Good, good! Thank you, Immortal Nun, thank you, Immortal Nun Su! I’ll leave this matter in your hands!”

The old lady gratefully thanked her, holding her sleeping grandson as she left.

Watching the grandmother and grandson leave, and with no outsiders in the house, Su Min’s purposely straightened back instantly relaxed.

Her expert demeanor disappeared from her face, and she happily counted the money given by the old lady.

After counting the money, Su Min was about to secure it when another voice was heard outside.

Su Min quickly stuffed the money into her Taoist robe’s sleeve, re-assuming her proud and confident witch’s guise, only to find that the visitor was none other than her husband.

The director of Guiyuan Temple, known as True Master Qingfeng, He Qingfeng.

”Was it the old lady from the Chen family on West Street? Did she really bring her grandson to restore his soul?” He Qingfeng asked assuredly.

”Yeah, just like you said, that little rascal from the Chen family really went to Nanshan and even urinated on a deserted grave. The child was frightened in the mountains and caught a chill, that’s why he kept crying!”

Su Min said cheerfully.

Talking with her own husband, Su Min did not deliberately lower her voice.

He Tiantian, listening from the inner room, could hear clearly that the woman’s voice was very young, not more than thirty years old.

And through the conversation of this couple, He Tiantian roughly guessed the truth—

The woman was not a real Immortal Nun, at most she was a witch knowledgeable in medical skills.

The reason she could accurately reveal the child’s whereabouts was not because of her fortune-telling skills, but because the man had happened to see it.

The woman’s ability to calm the child and make him sleep might not be the result of casting a spell, but probably the effect of the pills.

However, they really did make themselves out to be enlightened masters, deceiving those superstitious old ladies into willingly handing over a lot of money.

And the swindler couple outside, if nothing unexpected, must be the parents of this very body He Tiantian inhabited.

How perfect, they weren’t just scammers, they were charlatans.

He Tiantian came to this conclusion without any annoyance, she was even somewhat curious about what task the system had assigned her.

Was it to keep up appearances, pretending to be a charlatan the second generation?!
