The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 218: Chapter 118: The Mother Who Favors Sons Over Daughters (Part 5)

”Big sister, are you heading to Shenzhen? Is your man working there, and you’re taking your kid to join him?”

The auntie looked to be in her forties or fifties, chubby, and spoke with a smile in her voice.

She seemed very kind-hearted, just like a warm-hearted auntie.

He Tiantian had just been yelled at by the ticket seller and criticized and disliked by the customers in line, appearing somewhat bewildered and embarrassingly dejected.

At that moment, suddenly seeing a smiling, gracious old lady, she immediately felt a sense of affection.

She hurriedly said, ”I’m going to Shenzhen, but not to find a man. I have a relative who does business there, makes good money, said they were short-staffed, so I thought I’d take my child and join her!”

He Tiantian deliberately answered in a thick home-country accent.

Every word ”I” sounded so rustic that it seemed to drop bits of soil.

If it had been an ordinary person hearing this accent, they might not have been disdainful, but they would find it a bit hard to adapt to.

But the auntie in front of her still smiled kindly, without a hint of ridicule.

The auntie even nodded in approval, ”Going to Shenzhen is great, everywhere you go there is gold, as long as you are a person, you can make a fortune once you get there!”

”Big sister, no need to hide it from you, we’re also going to Shenzhen. If you don’t mind, let’s keep each other company,” said the chubby auntie with a smile again, proactively inviting her—this positive attitude made city-disheartened and discriminated-against village woman He Tiantian feel even closer to her.

Even a surge of joy at seeing a ”savior”: ”Oh really? Big sister, you’re also going to Shenzhen. That’s really great!”

”This is my first time leaving home, I don’t understand anything, I just made a fool of myself over there—”

Upon hearing someone ”on the same path,” He Tiantian instantly felt as though she had found her organization.

She poured out her heart to the auntie.

”What’s to fear? Who doesn’t have a first time? Big sister, being able to buy a ticket on your first trip is already no small feat!”

The auntie posed authoritatively, completely siding with He Tiantian, comforting her not to be afraid and praising her competence.

While speaking, the auntie didn’t forget to inquire about He Tiantian’s specific situation.

Like where she was from, how old she was this year, how many children she had, and so forth.

He Tiantian, like someone who finally found a confidant to talk to in a strange environment, did not guard against this stranger at all, and spilled all her details.

Hearing He Tiantian say she was only thirty-four this year, and seeing her calloused hands, the smile in the auntie’s eyes grew even richer.

Although she was older, she wasn’t too old, and those remote mountain area’s old bachelors probably wouldn’t be too disdainful.

She might not fetch a couple of thousand, but a few hundred dollars was still plausible.

And the woman had a six or seven-year-old daughter by her side, well, that was no big deal either.

Break her arms, twist her legs, and throw her in the city to beg, and she would still earn quite a bit of money.

The auntie smiled as if she were the Maitreya Buddha, but at the bottom of her heart, she was plotting the most malevolent schemes.

”Let’s go, our train is at nine-thirty, and it’s just past seven now, over two hours left. Let’s wait in the lobby. Just in time, I have a few fellow villagers here too, we can look out for each other on the way!”

The auntie kindly took He Tiantian’s arm, leading the way while chattering incessantly about household matters.

Arriving at the waiting hall, the auntie indeed found a group of people.

Among them were men and women, and one or two looked like He Tiantian, dressed in an unsophisticated way with a timid expression.

Only they were somewhat younger, appearing to be in their twenties.

One of the young women was holding a one or two-year-old boy. After some idle chatting, He Tiantian learned that this woman was indeed going to Shenzhen to find her man.

He Tiantian saw the auntie warmly greeting that woman, and the woman was also very close to the auntie.

She sighed in her heart, ah, silly girl, you’ve mistaken a demon for a good person.

While He Tiantian was sizing up the few women, she didn’t neglect to observe the auntie’s ”companions”.

In total, three people, two men, and one woman.

The men were young and strong, and the woman also looked very young, appearing and dressing like a rural woman left behind in the countryside.

But He Tiantian knew it was all an act.

She must be a human trafficker just like the chubby auntie, searching for targets among the crowd.

For young girls or young wives, this younger woman would make her move.

For middle-aged women in their thirties or forties like He Tiantian, the chubby auntie would beckon.
