The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 208: Chapter 114: The Mother Who Favors Sons Over Daughters (Part 1)_3

In order to reassure the girl’s family, the lady even paid three months’ salary in advance, a full two thousand yuan.

The female lead’s real mother didn’t think much about it, nor did she suspect why the lady could pay the salary in advance, she was completely mesmerized by the sum of two thousand yuan.

Two thousand yuan, a full two thousand yuan.

She and her husband had been toiling in the fields for over a decade, yet they hadn’t managed to save two thousand yuan.

And the ”able person” from the neighboring village had said that for two thousand yuan, they could bring home a boy under three years old, in good health, and without any disabilities or mental issues.

A boy, a male, even if not of their own flesh and blood, could still be raised from a young age, could still become familiar, could still continue the family line and take care of them in their old age!

The female lead’s real mother was tempted, and her entire being seemed to be possessed.

Her husband and the neighbors around had advised against it, saying that Aunt Hua might not be reliable and could deceive their daughter and sell her away.

But, the female lead’s real mother simply wouldn’t listen.

She had only one thought in her head: Get the money, and bring home a son.

That way, no one would ever again curse her as a hen that doesn’t lay eggs, and no one would laugh at Old Zhao’s Family for not having an heir.

A son! She wanted a son!

Even though she guessed that her daughter would be taken away and sold, as long as she got the money, she could pretend to be oblivious.

The female lead’s real mother was stubborn to the extreme, and her husband was not without temptation himself. He made a show of advising her, but seeing that the female lead’s real mother was not to be persuaded, he deliberately put on a helpless act of ”Fine, let’s do it your way.”

He allowed the female lead’s real mother to hand over their eldest daughter to Aunt Hua in exchange for two thousand yuan, and then he ran off to the neighboring village, pleading with the ”able person” and reserving a son.

After a half month of eager anticipation, the ”able man” really did bring back a two-year-old boy for her.

The female lead’s real mother was ecstatic, holding the ”son” in her arms every day.

She couldn’t wait to proclaim to the world: Look, come see, I have a son now!

She was completely unaware, and of course, she probably didn’t want to know, that her eldest daughter had been taken by Aunt Hua to the South and forced into prostitution.

At first, the eldest daughter had contemplated death. As a girl who had grown up in a remote, feudal village, she was naive at the tender age of fifteen or sixteen.

She felt tainted, as if she had brought shame to her family, unworthy of living.

Just when the eldest daughter was resolved to die, Aunt Hua sent word: ”Your little brother is sick; he needs a lot of money. Your parents are so desperate they’re thinking of selling their blood!”

Though the eldest daughter had been sold away by her real mother, she still felt close to her parents, craving their love.

Upon hearing that her parents were going to sell their blood, her heart ached.

Then Aunt Hua, along with the brothel owner, said that as long as she ”worked” well, they would send money home every month.

The eldest daughter finally gave in, staying obediently in the brothel.

With her tears and flesh, she supported a ”brother” with whom she had no blood relation.

Her ”brother” eventually recovered from his illness, but then it was time for him to go to school.

The eldest daughter continued to ”work,” dragging her broken body on.

However, she finally encountered the outside world, learnt some truths, and realized the importance of education.

For the first time, she made a demand to her family, and her attitude was very firm: ”My sister also has to go to school, and I will pay for the tuition! If you don’t send her to school, then I won’t send a penny home!”

Because of her sister’s insistent demand, the female lead had the chance to enter school at the age of eleven or twelve.

But the female lead treasured this rare opportunity; despite starting late, she was incredibly diligent.

And she herself was very smart; in just three years, she caught up and got admitted to the county’s middle school with excellent grades.

By then, her sister had become ill but was reluctant to spend money on treatment.

Of course, it might also be that her will to live had died; she had no desire to cling to life.

She left her life in God’s hands, adopting an attitude of ”let nature take its course.”

When the sister died, the monthly income of several hundred yuan was gone as well.

But there was still a ”son” at home to take care of, so the female lead’s real mother turned her attention toward the female lead.

But the female lead was not like her sister; having been educated, she understood principles and knew that gender was not a sin.

With the bloody example of her sister before her, the female lead did not wish to be exploited by her parents to the bone.

She resisted by threatening them with death, the female lead’s real mother had already reached the point of being reckless for the sake of her ”son,” but her real father still had some shame.

Moreover, the ”son” was not his own flesh and blood after all. With the eldest daughter dead, the female lead’s real father, as a fallback for the future, dared not truly drive his own youngest daughter to death.

So, the real father compromised, but only to the extent of not obstructing the female lead’s schooling.

The female lead wanted to study, and the family would not contribute a cent to the costs.

Through the help of teachers and classmates, she managed to struggle through high school and enter university with much effort, momentarily escaping her original family.

But the female lead’s real mother wouldn’t just let her be, once the female lead had some development, her real mother came looking for her again.

Continuing to leech off the female lead’s blood, to provide for the ”son.”

And the person He Tiantian time-traveled into was none other than the female lead’s real mother, He Xiaotian.

He Tiantian:...
