The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 233: Chapter 123: Mother Who Favors Sons Over Daughters (10)

He Tiantian came to the Public Security Bureau and deliberately stuttered as she spoke about the child.

She didn’t report the salon because she didn’t want to take down a den of iniquity, but rather because the time wasn’t right yet.

She had barely escaped with Zhao Dan when the police sealed off the salon. It was obvious that it had something to do with her ”He Xiaotian.”

The boss had managed to open the salon, which certainly indicated some shady powers.

Maybe there were even some ”umbrellas” protecting it.

If He Tiantian were alone, she’d definitely not be afraid of them.

But the problem was, she was looking after two girls and a baby, only three or four months old.

In Shenzhen, unfamiliar with the place, could they offend some ”local tyrant” and still manage to return safely to their hometown?

There was someone else He Tiantian had to be wary of, Aunt Hua, who was in cahoots with the salon owner.

If Aunt Hua knew that ”He Xiaotian,” that firecracker, had messed up her path to fortune and put her partner in jail,

Aunt Hua would certainly hate ”He Xiaotian.”

Of course, He Tiantian was not only unafraid of a pimp old woman, she also planned to get her behind bars as well.

However, He Tiantian had to consider Daniu’s reputation.

If Aunt Hua, in her desperation, spread rumors back home, or even without making stuff up, just by revealing the true nature of the salon, the townsfolk would make their own assumptions.

Eventually, the innocent Daniu would be slandered as a prostitute.

Rumors can be dreadful, in the 90s rural areas, such gossip could literally drive Daniu to her death!

Even if Daniu were strong enough to survive this ordeal, finding a decent family to marry into would be extremely hard.

Unless she left her hometown for an unfamiliar city.

But why? Why should she, who did nothing wrong, be forced to flee her home because of a real villain?!

Another important point was that in Shenzhen, there were quite a few salons like that.

And many more young girls, dreaming of earning money through labor, would be deceived and fall into an abyss.

He Tiantian had secretly instructed Student Xiao D to thoroughly investigate all the Red-Light Districts in Shenzhen and all of G Province, and those who masqueraded as employers but trafficked girls into prostitution.

Once she had detailed information and had successfully left Shenzhen with the children, she would divide it into several parts and send it to the various local government agencies.

There might be ”umbrellas,” but not the entire provincial and municipal leadership would be corrupt!

As long as the reports He Tiantian filed were truthful and detailed, they would definitely catch the leaders’ attention.

”...this child, he must have been trafficked, he was drugged with a heavy dose of sleeping pills, causing, causing his brain nerves—”

After receiving the report, the police took it very seriously and checked for any reports of missing male infants in the area.

At that time, there wasn’t nationwide connectivity yet, and information between provinces was delayed.

The police could only check the local records.

But through careful investigation, they found no case matching the condition of this male infant.

Then, the police sent the child to the hospital for an examination, and the results were heartbreaking.

A perfectly fine child was turned into an imbecile by traffickers.

”Oh, the child’s biological parents, if they knew, would be heartbroken!” He Tiantian said with a face full of pity and sympathy.

The policeman did not immediately echo her sentiment; as an experienced officer, he had seen similar cases.

Parents losing their child, searching desperately, and finally finding them only to discover they had been harmed by traffickers.

Either turned into an imbecile like this infant or with missing limbs and thus disabled...

Parents who genuinely love their children would naturally not disdain them but would instead feel guilty.

But, some parents, upon learning of their child’s condition, would simply hide away.

In their eyes, acknowledging such a clearly burdensome child, they might as well go back and have another.

”Comrade, what, what will happen to this child? If his parents don’t come forward, where, where will he be sent?” He Tiantian asked with concern.

”...He will be sent to an orphanage!” The policeman didn’t want to think the worst of people, but he had seen worse cases, so he didn’t believe this child still had a chance at a normal family life.

Regardless of whether the biological parents come forward or not, his ultimate fate might be an orphanage.
