The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 243: Chapter 126: Mom Preferring Sons to Daughters (Part 13)_2

Xiao Bao, after school, would also secretly follow to pick up bottles.

Zhao Dan handed over all her wages and didn’t buy new clothes for herself for several years.

As a result, the money she saved was used by her mother to enroll her in night school, buy her plane tickets to Hong Kong, and even send her abroad to attend various fashion shows.

Zhao Dan could transform from a village girl who had only completed two years of primary education and started as a sewing apprentice, into a famous fashion designer in the fashion circle, and her mother’s contribution was indispensable!

Her family never dragged her down; on the contrary, without her mother, without her younger siblings, Zhao Dan would still be living the most despicable and reproachable debased life in that hair salon in Shenzhen.

Maybe she wouldn’t have lasted ten years, would have contracted a serious illness early, and then died without treatment.

Of course, it was her real mother who sold her to Shenzhen that year, but her real mother also made amends at the first opportunity.

Not to mention the sacrifices her real mother had made for her over the years... Even if she never married, and stayed with her real mother for a lifetime, she could never repay her.

Besides, she wasn’t going to not get married; there would always be a man in this world who would understand her, support her.

She just hadn’t met him yet, and that only meant that the timing wasn’t right yet!

”Ah, I’m your mom; isn’t it my responsibility to provide for you all?”

He Tiantian pretended to be nonchalant, waving her hand and said, ”Besides, I only had those two hard years. Afterward, you became a real designer, and you gave me all your monthly salary!”

”Logically, I should have saved it for you, for your dowry when you get married!”

”But I was incapable and the family was poor, so I used your salary to buy a house for the family!”

He Tiantian’s tone became somewhat choked up at this point, her face written with guilt toward her eldest daughter.

”Mom, please don’t say that. I gave you my salary so that our family could have a better life.”

”Don’t worry about my dowry; I can manage it on my own.”

”And Xiao Bao, rest assured, as long as I live, I will take good care of him, and even if I die, I’ve bought him a house, and with all that insurance and the funds, he, he won’t be left to hunger or cold.”

Zhao Dan felt a deep sense of guilt and heartache for her brother.

Although they were not related by blood, her brother had ”accidentally” saved her, and the family had depended on each other for ten years; she watched him grow from a child, and the emotions involved were hard for outsiders to imagine.

Therefore, there was no need for her real mother to show favoritism; Zhao Dan had already taken the fondness upon herself.

She had bought a house for her brother before owning one herself.

Then, she arranged for all sorts of insurance and funds, the whole lot.

She feared her brother’s intellectual challenges and that no one would look after him if she were gone.

Zhao Xiaoya: ...Sis, do you think I’m dead or something?

Although Zhao Xiaoya was still a high school student, she was the true female lead.

From her elementary school days, she knew how to earn money.

The most basic of picking up bottles and selling scrap, later selling her notes and insights on learning, and as she entered middle school, she started tutoring others.

Except for the first two years of elementary school, when He Tiantian paid her provisional and tuition fees, Zhao Xiaoya was able to be self-sufficient.

By the time she reached high school, she even began secretly buying stocks and investing.

She hadn’t even attended university yet, but at seventeen, she had already earned a significant net worth.

Her sister bought a house for the family; she bought a car for her mother, and gold and silver jewelry.

While her sister took care of her brother’s insurance, she shouldered the costs for his rehabilitation treatment and special education.

...The sisters were eight years apart, but both were determined to spend money on their family.

He Tiantian still favored sons over daughters among her three children, valuing her son the most.

But Zhao Dan and Zhao Xiaoya, far from feeling that their real mother was biased or strange, were instead even more sympathetic toward their brother.

Because they were very clear that their mother loved them and had never thought of exploiting them to support their brother.

They gave money to the family and actively took care of their brother out of empathy for their mother and unwillingness to see their brother suffer.

The expectations of daughters are so low.

As long as they are in their parents’ hearts, even a bit of favoritism is understandable to them.

Sometimes, for that touch of kinship, they are willing to contribute to the family willingly.

And what He Tiantian gave to her daughters was not just a bit of maternal love.

The family was harmonious and happy, with two daughters who earned money, it had long since lifted out of poverty and crossed over to a comfortable level of wealth.

If He Tiantian wanted, either Zhao Dan or Zhao Xiaoya would compete to buy a villa for the family.
