The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 245: Chapter 127: Mother Who Favors Sons Over Daughters (Conclusion)

Zhao Xiaobao’s biological parents had found him.

They were not some top-tier wealthy family, but they still held some power in the Capital City.

The couple had lost their newly full-month-old Xiao Bao in an accident and had never given up their search.

But, in the nineties, there was no DNA information collection and no nationwide network.

And Hua Country was just too big; looking for an infant who had just reached a full month old was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Over a decade had passed, yet Zhao Xiaobao’s parents, undeterred, persisted; even though their relatives advised them to have another child, they did not listen.

In their eyes, they only had one child, and it was precisely due to their own negligence that their treasure was lost.

Even if they were to have another, they wanted to find out news of their child first.

Just at this time, their family saw a photo in the news report—

”Xiao Ran, I, I think this child looks so much like Zijun!”

Zhao Ran’s mother, that is, Zhao Xiaobao’s grandmother, stared intently at the photo.

However, the news footage flashed by quickly, leaving the old woman extremely anxious.

Zhao Ran hurriedly turned on the computer and searched for related reports online.

The information on the internet was much more extensive than what was reported on TV.

Zhao Ran even clearly saw a segment in the many pieces of information: ”...Zhao Xiaobao was adopted by He Xiaotian in Shenzhen!”

”Mom! Zijun!”

Zhao Ran’s hands were trembling; his son, Zhao Xiaobao, had to be his son.

Just look at those eyebrows and eyes; they were exactly like his wife’s.

And then there was the age, thirteen, exactly matching his son’s age.

On top of that, the adoption status made Zhao Ran feel that even without a DNA test, he was seventy percent certain that Zhao Xiaobao was their Zhao Family’s child.

Zhao Xiaobao’s real mother, Li Zijun, pushed her husband aside, grabbed the mouse, and frantically searched for information related to Zhao Xiaobao.

At two or three months old, he was fed sleeping pills by human traffickers, which ended up damaging his brain.

He Xiaotian had only given birth to two daughters and couldn’t have a son, so she brought Zhao Xiaobao back home.

He Xiaotian favored boys over girls and made her mere fifteen-year-old daughter go out to earn money for the family, yet took very good care of Zhao Xiaobao.

Providing medical treatment for him, helping him recover, and teaching him patiently day in and day out for over a decade.

After ten-odd years of meticulous care, Zhao Xiaobao’s responses were still slower than those of a normal person, but he was capable of living independently.

His reactions were slow, but he wasn’t truly mentally disabled.

Moreover, in the process of raising and caring for Zhao Xiaobao, He Xiaotian and her two daughters also discovered Zhao Xiaobao’s talent—painting.

At a young age, he was able to sit down and patiently, attentively learn fine arts.

His grasp of color was also quite unique.

Of course, this could have been influenced by his eldest sister, Zhao Dan, to some extent.

It should be noted that Zhao Dan was a fashion designer with some international fame, noted for her daring use of color in her designs.

Speaking of which, Li Zijun had even worn Zhao Dan’s haute couture gowns and couldn’t stop praising this home-grown Hua Country designer.

Little did she know that her son was actually living in Zhao Dan’s home, and had been raised so well by them.

Seeing how much He Xiaotian, Zhao Dan, and Zhao Xiaoya put into caring for Zhao Xiaobao, Zhao Ran and Li Zijun were deeply touched.

Although He Xiaotian had adopted Zhao Xiaobao with her own ulterior motives, that didn’t negate the fact that they had saved Zhao Xiaobao and given him the best life possible.

”...What if we go to find him, and they refuse to let us take the child away?”

Li Zijun quickly thought of this possibility.

Ever since losing her child, she had become extremely anxious, even falling into depression at one point.

With the careful company of her family, Li Zijun always kept her son in mind and bravely fought the illness.

But her heart had become particularly sensitive, fragile.

”They shouldn’t. We are Xiao Bao’s real parents!”

Zhao Ran said ”they shouldn’t,” but in truth, he too was uncertain.

Because He Xiaotian wasn’t a ”purchasing parent,” she had gone through legitimate adoption procedures.

Even though Zhao Ran and his wife were victims in this matter, He Xiaotian’s family were not bad people.

They had treated Zhao Xiaobao as their own, not only raising the child well but also setting aside a substantial inheritance for him.

Zhao Ran’s family was well-off and didn’t care much for the real estate, insurance, and funds.

But this showed that they truly cared a great deal for Zhao Xiaobao.

Zhao Ran wanted to find an excuse to reclaim his child, but it seemed he couldn’t find one.

The only card to play was probably the emotional card—they were Zhao Xiaobao’s biological parents, the child was lost accidentally, and since his disappearance, they never gave up searching, not having another child for Xiao Bao’s sake!
