Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 694: Chapter Four: Obsession

Stepping on the insect beneath his feet, Su Xiao glanced at Sakura Matou.

”A good substitute, but...”

The old insect was still one-fifth alive. Although it posed no threat to Su Xiao, he had a habit of eradicating all roots of a problem.

A blue light flickered across his palm, and Su Xiao’s hand grasped Sakura Matou’s slender neck. Blue and white arcs danced as a surge of Blue Steel Shadow Energy entered Sakura’s mouth.

Sakura Matou reacted instantly; her eyes rolled back as drool dripped from the corners of her mouth, and she passed out immediately.

”Sakura!”

Matou Yanye, who had just stopped his steps, charged again. Su Xiao turned and flung out Dragon Slash.

Clang.

Dragon Slash pierced through Matou Yanye’s chest, pinning him to the wall, the long knife infused with Blue Steel Shadow Energy.

”Ah!!”

Matou Yanye let out a miserable howl as a horde of imprinted worms crawled out of his mouth, seemingly escaping from his body.

A moment later, all the imprinted worms in Sakura Matou and Matou Yanye were dead. One was gravely injured and dying, while the other was unconscious. The Blue Steel Shadow Energy not only targeted the imprinted worms but also annihilated the magic power within their bodies.

”Bu Bu, are there any more insects nearby?”

”Woof.”

Bubu Wang barked, indicating that there were at least tens of thousands of imprinted worms inside the ancient castle.

Su Xiao walked to Matou Yanye’s front, extracting Dragon Slash from his chest, causing Matou Yanye to collapse to the ground with a thud.

”Bu Bu, activate the aura; don’t let the two of them die. If Matou Yanye can’t hold on, then Sakura Matou must replace him as the Master tier.”

In Su Xiao’s perception, the number of magic circuits within Sakura Matou far exceeded those within Matou Yanye. Matou Yanye was a quick product made by insects.

To Su Xiao, it didn’t matter what attribute a magician had, as long as they had sufficient magic circuits, he could rely on them to stay in the Derivative World.

Bubu Wang approached Sakura Matou, sniffed her, and tossed her onto its back. As for Matou Yanye, Bubu Wang took hold of his belt with its mouth. Su Xiao suspected that even if Matou Yanye wasn’t killed by the Blue Steel Shadow Energy, he might suffocate to death.

In fact, Bubu Wang had already noticed that Matou Yanye wouldn’t survive long. His body had been severely corroded by insects. Although the insects had disappeared, the body tissues they damaged were beyond repair.

The disappearance of the insects was not a good thing; rather, it would hasten Matou Yanye’s death.

Sakura Matou was different. This little girl’s constitution far surpassed that of Matou Yanye. The imprinted worms only managed to invade her organs but couldn’t enter her blood vessels or body tissues.

Now, it didn’t matter if Matou Yanye died; Su Xiao had already found a substitute.

”Let’s go.”

Su Xiao headed out of the ancient castle. As he walked, numerous white spiders crawled out from within his sleeves; these were all special level alchemy bombs. He disassembled eight special level alchemy bombs into hundreds of small white spiders and dispersed them throughout various areas of the castle.

Three minutes later, Su Xiao emerged from the ancient castle. After walking a few dozen meters, he lit a cigarette and simultaneously detonated the alchemy bombs inside the castle.

Boom, boom, boom, boom...

A dense series of explosions resounded behind him. The Matou family’s ancient castle instantly shattered and was engulfed by flames.

Seconds later, this castle, which had stood for hundreds of years, had transformed into a huge fireball.

Squeeee~

The screeching of the imprinted worms echoed from afar. The explosions from the alchemy bombs were too dense, leaving the imprinted worms within the castle either blown apart or trapped within a sea of fire.

[You have eliminated Matou Zouken (99%)]

[All imprinted worms of Matou Zouken’s entity have died, but his obsession remains unresolved.]

[Matou Zouken was an important plot character, granting 5.2% of the World Source; total World Source obtained: 5.3%.]

[Due to slaying Matou Zouken, Holy Church reputation -20, current reputation value: -20 (Indifferent).]

...

Seeing the prompts from Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao wasn’t surprised. Matou Zouken managed to survive as long as he did largely due to his strong obsession.

In his younger years, Matou Zouken wasn’t considered a villain. His ideal was to eradicate all evil, yet he didn’t succeed. His pursuit led him to seek eternal life to fulfill his ideal.

By the end, Matou Zouken had already forgotten his original ideal, and his goal shifted to pursuing eternal life.

If it was the past Matou Zouken, who pursued eradicating all evil, that died, his lingering obsession would have been terrifyingly strong. He might have even become a Heroic Spirit in person.

As for the obsession born from pursuing eternal life now, Su Xiao shook his head. This kind of obsession was trivial, and Matou Zouken would soon dissipate, perhaps within an hour.

One must admit, this old fellow was exceptionally hard to kill. Su Xiao killed all the insects within Matou Yanye and Sakura, and he demolished the Matou family’s ancient castle.

Even so, Matou Zouken hadn’t entirely died; a trace of obsession remained. But this old fellow was truly dead because his obsession wasn’t strong enough.

The explosion’s shockwave blew past, causing Su Xiao’s windbreaker to flap violently.

After the explosion sound resonated across half of Fuyuki City, the Sakura on Bubu Wang’s back was startled awake.

The moment Sakura Matou woke up, the severe pain in her body almost made her faint again. However, she was already accustomed to this kind of pain. She possessed an endurance far beyond ordinary, so she didn’t cry or make any noise like a regular kid.

Bubu Wang turned its head to look at Sakura Matou behind it. Sakura lay on Bubu Wang’s back, and Bubu Wang’s astonishing 53 points of Charm Attributes made Sakura feel a sense of security, so she lay stark naked on Bubu Wang’s back without moving.

Bubu Wang retrieved a tattered cloth from the rubble of the explosion and tossed it over Sakura Matou.

”Ha, hahaha...”

Crazed laughter came from the already half-dead Matou Yanye, blood gushing from his mouth, but he was laughing.

”Does this... count as saving Sakura? The imprinted worms have died out, the old bastard is dead too. Yes, it succeeded.”

Upon hearing Matou Yanye’s slightly deranged laughter, Su Xiao glanced at him. If left unattended, Matou Yanye wouldn’t survive more than half an hour.

”You survived being transformed by Matou Zouken’s imprinted worms, which means you have a decent pain tolerance. You probably want to take revenge on Tokiomi Tohsaka, right? Considering that betrayal as taking your wife.”

The firelight reflected on Su Xiao’s face, and at that moment, a smile appeared on his face.

”How do you... know?”

The dying Matou Yanye was full of disbelief.

Su Xiao did not answer Matou Yanye’s question. He had a plan. If it succeeded, he could temporarily disregard the Holy Grail War and focus on completing the Talent Awakening Task.

It was now just past midnight, and the streets were deserted. But after the explosion, lights turned on in large areas of the nearby neighborhood.

Su Xiao walked into the depths of the city. Ten minutes later, he found an uninhabited residence.

[Prompt: The identity of the Hunter as ’Heroic Spirit’ has been successfully established. The Hunter can view their own Heroic Spirit Attributes.]

Su Xiao raised an eyebrow; this was undoubtedly good news. He could compare his Heroic Spirit Attributes with the strength of other Heroic Spirits. Although he had previously defeated Lancelot, Lancelot at that time wasn’t at full strength.
