Chapter 672: Chapter 66: Absolute Realm

”You’re late.”

The Clown held the fans girl’s head in his hand, speaking while coughing up a few mouthfuls of blood.

”Who knows.”

Su Xiao stood in front of the iron door on the rooftop, staying away from the Clown.

”The vanguard you sent wasn’t much, I dealt with her single-handedly. She looked like a cold-faced female assassin, but her soul was surprisingly sweet.”

The Clown tossed the fans girl’s head towards Su Xiao, seemingly without force, yet the head flew at great speed.

Su Xiao sidestepped to avoid the fans girl’s head, which slammed into the iron door with a bang, leaving a dent.

”Let’s talk, there’s no need for caution. I’m just a broken man. If you want my life, come and take it.”

The Clown pointed to the dagger in his chest, indicating he had no combat strength.

Su Xiao’s gaze swept left and right. He had a feeling that stepping forward would mean death.

Taking out an apple from the storage space, he threw it towards the Clown.

Shhh—

The apple was sliced into dozens of pieces mid-air, turning to ashes before it hit the ground.

Crimson energy threads appeared between Su Xiao and the Clown, vanishing as quickly as they appeared, usually remaining unseen.

Su Xiao guessed that the fans girl might have died on these threads, noting the Clown’s deeper development of the Demon Bloodline.

As the ashes of the apple were scattered by the night wind, the Clown squinted his eyes, his smile undiminished.

This guy truly lives up to the cunning old fox who can match wits with the Leader, claiming he’s a powerless cripple while having set up a deadly trap.

”If you can break through the Inferno Hell World, my life is yours.”

The Clown leaned against the wheelchair, starting to pull out the daggers piercing his chest. Earlier, he hadn’t removed these daggers left by the fans girl to confuse Su Xiao, but now they were useless.

Removing the daggers made the Clown grimace in pain. These daggers were full of barbs, but the Clown seemed unguarded against Su Xiao, confident in the ’Inferno Hell World.’

A white quality dagger slid out from Su Xiao’s sleeve, and he hurled it at the Clown with full force.

Shhh—

The dagger was shredded to pieces mid-air; the energy threads between Su Xiao and the Clown were denser than expected.

This thing was similar to the Boundary Line, but the Clown’s threads were energy bodies that didn’t require a fixed medium, floating in mid-air.

Extremely sharp, secretive, and dense, these were the traits of the ’Inferno Hell World.’

The Black and White Guns appeared in Su Xiao’s hands. Since projectiles were ineffective, he switched to bullets.

With the Black and White Guns switched to continuous shooting mode, Su Xiao strafed at the Clown from his position.

Ratatat...

The two pistols entered continuous shooting mode, with a firing rate rivaling submachine guns. Thirty rounds quickly emptied.

The Black and White Guns consumed mana value to reload, each holding 30 rounds, requiring 30 mana value to replenish the full 30 rounds, or 1 mana value per bullet, needing 60 mana value in total. The reload interval was 10 seconds.

Mana surged, replenishing 60 mana value, fully reloading the Black and White Guns.

Su Xiao had 1053 mana value left. His previous fight with Chrollo was brief, so he hadn’t expended much mana.

Meaning, Su Xiao could still load 1053 more bullets, taking less than three minutes to reload in total. Given the Black and White Guns’ firing rate, shooting 1053 bullets wouldn’t take long.

With the Black and White Guns fully loaded, these guns’ bullets weren’t physical, rather energy body bullets, otherwise they couldn’t be reloaded with mana value.

Ratatat...

Su Xiao strafed in the direction of the Clown, with crimson energy threads occasionally flickering mid-air, blocking all bullets aimed at the Clown.

On his second empty magazine, Su Xiao noticed that the color of the energy threads near him was visibly lighter.

”You’re not even using your most adept Sword Skill Slash? Smart choice.”

The Clown glanced at the Dragon Slash at Su Xiao’s waist, previously hoping to see this growth weapon shatter.

’Inferno Hell World’ had a trait; any weapon or equipment beneath Light Golden Quality dared touch these energy threads would surely be damaged, and Light Gold weapons were not exempt from possible damage either.

”Energy bullets, and you can reload them repeatedly. Must be consuming mana value. Just right, let’s see whose mana value runs out first. But you better hurry.”

The Clown glanced at his remaining mana value, 890 points. ’Inferno Hell World’ required mana value to repair when attacked, disappearing once his mana value was depleted.

For some reason, the Clown’s attribute specialization granted 890 mana value, confident his remaining mana surpassed Su Xiao’s. Moreover, in 10 minutes, he could forcibly leave the Hunter World.

The Clown’s earlier actions weren’t to kill Su Xiao. Rather, they aimed to slaughter as many Contractors in the Hunter World as possible.

From the start, the Clown’s goal wasn’t Su Xiao, but acquiring more Scarlet Cards. Of course, killing Su Xiao would be ideal.

Hunter World had over a hundred Contractors, mostly gathered near the auction house before facing Nilapan Tribe sieges, leaving only 31 who reached the auction house, suffering casualties still thereafter.

Contractors killed by Nilapan siege dropped Scarlet Cards. Where did these Scarlet Cards go? They were all in the Clown’s possession.

The Clown obtained 45 Scarlet Cards via special methods, second-tier Contractor’s Scarlet Cards, a fortune beyond doubt.

His use of the Nilapan Tribe aimed for these Scarlet Cards.

Once the Clown confirmed he couldn’t recover severed limbs in the Hunter World and acquired significant Scarlet Cards, he immediately used an item for forced return. This wasn’t a high-end operation; using such an item to return incurred full attribute -3 penalties. Except for Scarlet Cards stored in his Talent Abilities, other gains were forcibly deducted by Reincarnation Paradise, be it attribute points or Paradise coins.

Using forced return items took time. After obtaining Scarlet Cards, the Clown immediately employed the return item, yet it was still a bit late.

Now, the Clown calmly sat in the wheelchair, gambling that his remaining mana could last 9 minutes and 15 seconds.

Time slowly passed, with Su Xiao continuously firing at the energy threads in front of him, except when reloading the Black and White Guns.

Whoosh—

A sudden sound of wind pierced through, forcing a leaping Su Xiao, with Black and White Guns in hand, as an invisible thread sliced just below, cutting off a piece of his shoe sole.

Su Xiao wasn’t wearing ordinary shoes but rather a piece of purple-quality equipment [Tactical Boots]. Although not defense-oriented, such slicing was quite exaggerated.

Su Xiao finally realized how the fans girl died. Admittedly, the fans girl’s strength wasn’t weak as she managed to pass through these energy threads and injure the Clown behind them.

Using energy threads for attacks significantly reduced the Clown’s mana value. ’Inferno Hell World’ was a trap ability, and actively using it for attacks was by no means simple.
