Chapter 664: Chapter 58: The Grudge between National Foot and Vini

Five minutes later, inside the auction house hall, Su Xiao stood in front of the three National Team Brothers.

”That’s basically how it is. Consider how you want to proceed.”

”Do we even need to think about it? Let’s get his ass, that Bitch Clown.”

”Second Brother is right, let’s get him.”

National Foot Elder Two and Elder Three were visibly excited.

”So this was the Clown’s goal, but...”

National Foot Boss looked at Su Xiao. He didn’t trust Su Xiao; even though the three brothers were quite comedic, it didn’t mean they were dumb.

”If you’re not interested, that’s fine. You can keep guarding this place. Completing the Main Mission is obviously the best, but I’m prepared for failure, though the Clown must die.”

Su Xiao had one Main Quest Failure Exemption. If used, he wouldn’t suffer a -3 to all attributes.

Having gained a lot from green and blue treasure chests, Su Xiao wasn’t concerned about Main Mission losses; what he cared about was the hunting mission.

”To be honest, Bai Ye, I don’t trust you.”

The Boss of the National Team was straightforward in declaring his mistrust of Su Xiao. Su Xiao laughed. If they trusted him easily, it would only mean they were fools.

”It’s normal not to trust someone like me. Keep talking.”

”Oh, I thought you’d suddenly chop me down.”

The Boss of the National Team burst into laughter.

”If you keep rambling, I will chop you.”

”No, no, no, we’re civilized people, we can talk this out. Let us three brothers discuss it.”

The Boss of the National Team pulled Elder Two and Elder Three aside. They always consulted each other on decisions, avoiding unilateral actions. The three walked a distance and started whispering.

”Mm, what you say makes sense, Big Brother.”

Whatever the Boss said, Elder Three nodded repeatedly.

”I’ll go with Big Brother’s wisdom, Big Brother wouldn’t harm me.”

It seemed Elder Two agreed with the Boss’s opinion.

”Haha, Big Brother, you know that thing...”

”Hahaha, you dumbass.”

”Big Brother, let’s be serious, we’re talking business here, hahaha, I can’t, let me laugh this off first.”

The trio seemed to have discussed something amusing and kept laughing aloud.

After a while, with corners of his mouth twitching like Nicolas Constantine, the Boss of the National Team approached Su Xiao.

”Brother Ruthless, puff...”

The Boss couldn’t help but laugh again, leaving Su Xiao a bit speechless.

”Sorry, let’s continue discussing the plan to kill the Clown.”

”Bunch of idiots.”

Vini’s voice came through, causing the Boss to tremble slightly.

”Blue hair...”

Kaka, the sound of guns being loaded echoed.

”Isn’t this the beautiful, gentle, and kind Miss Vini? L-long time no see.”

The Boss of the National Team seemed to recall some bad memories and stepped back slowly.

”We met before, but you guys ran away.”

With a gnash of her teeth, Vini held onto an exaggerated sniper rifle.

”Ha, yes, the previous matter... umm... is it too late to apologize now?”

”Too late, go die, you three good-for-nothing ambushers.”

Vini raised her sniper rifle, aiming at the National Team. Just as she did, the sound of a blade ringing emerged.

”Tsk.”

Vini put away the sniper, turning her head somewhat arrogantly, her white teeth clattering.

”Vini, how about... I return those things to you? Our grievances...”

Before the Boss could finish, he noticed Vini looking at him expressionlessly, filled with killing intent.

”In the ’Armor Iron City World’ and ’Black Bullet World’, I lost. The things you guys ’extorted’ from me no longer belong to me; just now... you insulted me.”

”I understand.”

The Boss gestured for Elder Two and Three to come over; the three stood in a line.

”Vini, I admit we used stealth tactics to beat you last time. If you’re pissed, we can have a proper fight with you, fair and square.”

”Fine by me.”

The killing intent faded from Vini’s eyes as she flexed her neck, her long blue braid swaying.

Su Xiao looked around at the four people present. He had a sudden thought: maybe he should just kill these unreliable guys.

”Earlier... weren’t we discussing the Clown?”

Su Xiao sighed. Indeed, he wasn’t suited for collaboration with Contractors. If not for the dire situation, he wouldn’t have chosen this path.

”Seems like it.”

The Boss looked at Vini.

”Then let’s deal with the Clown first, before settling our business.”

The parties temporarily reached a truce. Su Xiao faintly sensed that the National Team and Vini weren’t mortal enemies.

Su Xiao pulled the Elder Three of the National Team aside. This guy seemed straightforward. Su Xiao needed to understand their past; if they were mortal enemies, he had to abort the plan. ℴ

According to Elder Three’s account, Su Xiao learned what happened between them.

The three sly National Team members had ambushed Vini once, captured her alive, and extorted her. Needless to say, they must have been quite pleased with themselves at that time, judging by the sly smile of Elder Three.

With Vini’s temper, she would never submit. So getting items from her storage space was impossible; the National Team took her spoils of war.

They rarely killed, so after taking the spoils and beating up Vini once, they let her go.

Chaotic with anger, Vini, who got her hard-earned spoils taken, yet still teased by three scoundrels, didn’t give in. Even though they didn’t do anything improper to her, she got beaten up; she understandably had a meltdown.

After a good beating, swollen-nosed Vini remembered the faces of the National Team. From then on, her nightmare began, with Cannon Vini ’chasing’ them across three Derivative Worlds.

Back then, the National Team captured Vini without killing her, hence sparing her life. So Vini didn’t kill them either, just left all three half-dead.

After suffering by Vini’s hand, they were beaten badly; she gave up her chase, but two Derivative Worlds later, whether by fate or not, they met again...

In a nearly identical sequence, Vini along with a group of Contractors fought for treasures, enduring a brutal slaughter. Finally succeeding, the nearby National Team ambushed her for the second time.

In Elder Three’s words: ’Brother Ruthless, you wouldn’t believe the situation then, it was a heck of a thrill.’

One could only say the three National Team were truly the ’Three Scoundrels’; after capturing Vini alive for the second time, they circled the braided Meng Mei and sent her flying kicks, boasting: ’Catch us if you dare, wahaha.’

Whether from rage or kicks, Vini coughed up blood then. Regrettably, she had exhausted her tracking tools, forcing her to swallow the insult.

”That’s the situation, so naturally, when she sees us, her first reaction is to shoot us. Maybe that’s just charm.”

Elder Three’s lips twisted in a mischievous smile. The more shameless, the more gleeful it appeared.

Su Xiao rubbed his forehead gently. Somehow, he suddenly felt a bit sorry for Vini...

Off to the side, Bubu Wang listened with a dumbfounded look, glancing at Elder Three as if to say: ”I’ve never witnessed such shamelessness.”

Vini, puffing out her cheeks, squatted on the side, nibbling on a bag of preserved plums with her long blue braid sprawling on the ground.

”Ahem~ let’s settle your grudges later. Let’s first discuss dealing with the Clown, Vini, it was your plan, so you speak.”

”My body feels like being beaten up twice, throbbing faintly, so you go on.”

Chewing on her preserved plum, Vini relished the sour-sweet taste, as eating calmed her down.

”Alright then, Vini’s plan is simple. She previously located the Clown’s general position, so we team up to charge in and finish him off. Even if it doesn’t end things, it might improve the situation to some extent.”
