Chapter 536: Chapter 24: 3 Ninjas

White hair burst from the ground, soaring into the sky. Su Xiao and Deidara, on the clay bird, sensed something wrong and leaped off.

”Don’t think about escaping!”

The white hair that emerged from the earth rapidly grew, like strands of steel wire wrapping towards Su Xiao.

”Explode!”

Deidara formed a seal with his hands, and the clay bird entangled by the white hair suddenly exploded.

Boom!

Flames surged upward, scattering the white hair that entangled the clay bird. Su Xiao and Deidara landed.

”Who is it?!”

Deidara stared at a nearby pit, where an unknown ninja was hiding.

Su Xiao’s brows were tightly furrowed. Based on the current point in time, he had already guessed who it was; the opponent was investigating Akatsuki. Deidara and Sasori had stayed nearby for two days, so it was no surprise they were tracked.

Whoosh.

A figure darted out from the distant forest, it was Sasori hiding inside the Scarlet Stream Tiger.

”Is this the target’s guard?”

Sasori stared at the ground nearby. He felt the incoming one’s strength wasn’t weak, so he appeared immediately.

”I’m not sure.”

Deidara reached into the bag at his waist filled with clay, quickly creating two large birds capable of carrying people in flight.

”Sasori, drag out the enemy; Bai Ye and I will provide support.”

Deidara jumped onto one clay bird, indicating for Su Xiao to hop onto the other.

”I’ll go test things out.”

Though Deidara’s tactics were good, Su Xiao planned to engage the enemy closely to test the strength of strong individuals in the Naruto World.

While the three spoke, cracks appeared on the ground ahead, and a figure burst from the earth.

”Clothes with red cloud on black, no doubt about it, you are members of the Akatsuki Organization.”

The man who emerged from the ground was tall, with a smiling face, wearing a forehead protector inscribed with the word ’oil.’ His loose white hair draped down to his waist, and there were two red marks on his face.

The newcomer was one of the Three Ninja of Konoha: Jiraiya.

”This is...”

Sasori immediately recognized the person.

”Who’s this?”

Deidara had never seen Jiraiya but had heard of his deeds.

”One of the Three Ninja of Konoha, Jiraiya.”

Upon hearing Jiraiya’s name, Deidara’s pupils contracted. Though he had never seen him, he had heard of his deeds.

”The visitor is not friendly.”

While Deidara spoke, he piloted the clay bird to take flight. The enemy was one of the Three Ninja, a figure whose deeds he heard of since he was a child. Even if he was arrogant, he’d exercise caution when dealing with Jiraiya.

”This guy won’t let us leave easily. Get ready for battle.”

Sasori controlled Scarlet Stream Tiger to crawl towards Jiraiya.

”Rogue Ninja of Iwagakure, Deidara; Rogue Ninja of Sand Ninja Village, Sasori; and... an unknown ninja with a dog.”

Su Xiao was clearly the unknown ninja.

Jiraiya looked at the nearby corpses, arriving at the end of the fight. At that time, Su Xiao and Deidara were lowering altitude, so Jiraiya decisively attacked, intending to capture them alive and extract information about Akatsuki.

According to custom, Bubu Wang went to find a hiding spot before the battle began, happily trotting away.

Su Xiao charged towards Jiraiya in the opposite direction from Bubu Wang.

Seeing Su Xiao rushing towards the enemy, Sasori controlled Scarlet Stream Tiger to open its large mouth, spraying countless poisoned thousand stems from Scarlet Stream Tiger’s mouth.

”Earth Jutsu: Earth Flow Rampart.”

Jiraiya’s seal speed was dizzyingly fast, almost instantly raising an earth wall.

Thwip, thwip, thwip...

The thousand stems all pierced into the earth flow rampart. Flying in the high sky, Deidara sneered.

”Explode!”

Boom!

A clay centipede, somehow crawling to Jiraiya’s side, exploded, engulfing Jiraiya in flames.

Su Xiao shielded himself with his left hand while Dragon Slash appeared in his right. He charged through the explosive impact.

With the cover of Sasori and Deidara, there was little resistance as Su Xiao closed in on Jiraiya.

Su Xiao directly charged into the flames. By now, they had begun to dissipate. A white orb appeared before him; it was Jiraiya wrapping himself in hair to resist the explosion.

This was a branch of Jiraiya’s Wild Lion Hair Technique. His hair could rapidly extend and become as tough as steel.

Jiraiya retracted his hair, and Su Xiao, wielding a long knife, came into view.

”Skillful with a shinobi dagger, huh?”

Jiraiya remained calm, though besieged by three, appearing unruffled.

”Fire Style: Flame Bullet.”

Flames spewed from Jiraiya’s mouth, unlike a Fireball Jutsu, the flames fanned out with a wider attack range.

Su Xiao paid no heed to the incoming fan-shaped flames, continuing to charge forward, head lowered.

Just as the flames were about to scorch Su Xiao’s body, a transparent shield appeared around him, a skill accompanied by Mikasa’s Mind: Shelter.

Shelter (Active): Quickly generate an invisible shield to repel attacks. Shield durability equals 80% of the holder’s maximum life value, lasting up to 30 seconds.

As flames scorched the shield, it insulated him from the heat. Large cracks appeared on its surface, about to shatter.

”Earth Jutsu: Underworld Swamp.”

Just as Su Xiao charged through the flames, the ground beneath him softened, and his feet sank into the mud.

Su Xiao was in a precarious situation, but he was already close to Jiraiya.

He directed mana value within himself, consuming over a thousand points instantly. The blue steel shadow energy enveloping Dragon Slash vibrated at high frequency, making Dragon Slash look like an energy blade.

”Inch Break.”

Inch Break, a move developed based on Ring Break, was a branch ability. It changed from a 360-degree attack to only attacking forward, using the sharp blade in hand for a direct cleave.

Hum~

The long knife cleaved down, emitting a terrifying howl. Jiraiya’s pupils contracted tightly.

”Unruly Hair Thorn.”

Jiraiya’s white hair straightened sharply, stabbing towards Su Xiao like steel needles.

Su Xiao paid no mind to the stabbing white hair. His masseter muscles bulged as he swung a decapitating slash at Jiraiya.

If this blade hit Jiraiya’s skull, not to mention the Three Ninja, even thirty would die.

Jiraiya’s eye twitch was involuntary. He didn’t expect Su Xiao to be so ruthless. Just as he thought to retreat, a dense barrage of thousand stems and shuriken flew from behind. If Jiraiya dared to move back, he’d be peppered to bits.

Thud.

Blood splattered. Su Xiao was pierced by a dozen strands of white hair, some narrowly avoiding his heart.

Not only did blood gush from Su Xiao, but also from Jiraiya!

Dragon Slash cleaved across Jiraiya’s chest, severing a mass of white hair. This was Su Xiao’s strongest strike, causing imaginable damage to Jiraiya.

A half-meter-long gash appeared on Jiraiya’s chest, nearly slashing through his ribs and injuring internal organs directly.

Blue steel shadow energy invaded Jiraiya’s body, his eyes widened, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. His chakra showed signs of going wild.

”I was careless.”

Blood trickled from Jiraiya’s mouth as he looked towards Su Xiao. Su Xiao, at this moment, was hoisted by Jiraiya’s white hair, with blood flowing down along the strands.

A blue energy orb appeared in Jiraiya’s palm. It was the signature jutsu of the Fourth Hokage, Rasengan.

Jiraiya used his hair to pull Su Xiao, powerlessly suspended in mid-air, closer, intending to kill him with Rasengan.

At this moment, Jiraiya noticed a smile on Su Xiao’s face, causing him to hesitate.

In less than 0.1 seconds, Jiraiya dispersed the Rasengan in his hand, switching to form seals with both hands.

’I must not let this guy get close again, mustn’t, or it’ll mean death.’

Jiraiya’s judgment was quite astute. Had he brought Su Xiao closer, Su Xiao would immediately use the secondary invincible shield, seizing the moment to strike Jiraiya again.
