Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 534: Chapter 22: Utterly Powerless to Fight Back

A carriage traveled along a rural dirt road, with laughter emanating from inside the wooden canopy, as if people were chatting and joking.

Several guards dressed in leather armor followed near the carriage. Although these guards could use ninjutsu, they were not ninjas; their abilities were more inclined towards protection.

The guards wore uniforms, while behind the six guards, three individuals dressed in various attires followed, one clad in full body armor and another in sportswear.

The three individuals in varied attire were speaking in low voices.

”Old Nine, is there really no problem? The rewards for this mission are too generous; I always feel something’s off.”

A man with a horse face looked worried, his eyes frequently scanning the surroundings.

”No problem, these daimyo are just scared of dying. Generous rewards are only normal; this is my second time escorting them. You can just eat and play along the way. If we’re lucky, we might even enjoy the women of the Naruto World.”

A middle-aged man with a sharp nose and small eyes smiled.

”Really?”

”Of course.”

Upon hearing the two men’s conversation, a young boy following at the back shook his head. Though he looked only twelve or thirteen years old, his demeanor appeared mature.

”Don’t let your guard down. The task difficulty is Lv.14; Paradise doesn’t give out rewards for nothing.”

The boy’s name was Zimo, and despite his young age, he was a genius.

”Got it, you little brat.”

The sharp-nosed man seemed unconcerned by Zimo’s words. The last time he escorted, he was just as cautious, but nothing dangerous actually happened.

”You... never mind.”

Zimo sighed because, being so young, his two teammates from the adventure group didn’t quite believe him. The three were members of the same adventure group, out to make some extra money this time.

”Zimo, don’t mind this guy. We specifically invited you this time to help you make a fortune. Just don’t forget us when you hit the big leagues.”

”Right, right, I might have spoken a bit harshly earlier, don’t mind it.”

Zimo was indeed a genius, but he also had the typical weaknesses of his age, longing for others’ recognition. The flattery from the two made him forget his earlier displeasure.

”What’s that?”

Zimo shielded his eyes with his hand and looked into the distance; his eyesight had been specially enhanced.

”What is it?”

The Guard Captain in front noticed Zimo’s abnormality.

”There’s a bird in the sky.”

”Pfft~”

The horse-faced man scoffed, thinking that his genius little teammate had been making too much of a fuss, seemingly not used to acting independent of large teams.

”A bird?”

The Guard Captain looked into the distance and also vaguely saw a bird in the distance.

”This bird... is a bit strange.”

Just as the Guard Captain finished speaking, a whistling sound of breaking void was heard.

Crack, a bullet hit the Guard Captain’s head, brain matter and blood splattered, and the Guard Captain’s head exploded, his headless body fell to the ground.

The warm brain matter splashed onto Zimo’s face, the intense smell of blood made Zimo’s body twitch, and his pupils contracted to the extreme.

”Enemy attack!”

Zimo’s shout was almost shrill, and he instinctively backed away to the rear of the carriage.

Whiz~

The sound of breaking void came again.

Crack, another guard was headshot, like a watermelon being smashed.

”There’s a sniper in the high ground, Zimo, fight back!”

The horse-faced man’s expression changed dramatically, similarly ducking behind the carriage.

”At least a kilometer away, how to fight back?”

Zimo stared intently at that big bird in the distance, that white big bird looked a bit familiar, for a moment he couldn’t recall where it came from.

All white, resembling an earthen texture, capable of flight.

Thoughts raced in his mind, Zimo’s body trembled slightly.

”I... I think I guessed who the enemy is.”

”Who, don’t beat around the bush.”

The horse-faced man was hiding behind the carriage, his face fierce.

”An Akatsuki Organization member, Deidara.”

”No way.”

”You must be mistaken; why would the Akatsuki Organization appear here, it’s impossible!”

Zimo’s two teammates were incredulous, or rather unwilling to believe the current reality.

Crack, crack.

Two more bullets pierced through flesh, this time not killing people but the two horses already startled by the smell of blood. If not killed, these two horses would run off.

”Protect me, guard.”

A shout came from inside the wooden cabin; it was the Daimyo of the River Country, who had just seen the scene outside the carriage.

”Your Highness, get off the carriage quickly.”

A guard drew his sword, slashing at the back of the carriage, wood chips splattering, intending to break the wooden wall behind the carriage so the River Country Daimyo could get out from the back.

Crack.

Just as that guard slashed twice, he stopped and instinctively raised his bare arm, screaming miserably.

”Ah!!”

Crack, blood splattered, the scream abruptly stopped. A leg-thick hole blasted through the guard’s chest, and he fell silent after a moment on the ground.

The area around the carriage turned into an Asura Field, someone would be headshot every few seconds.

”What do we do, we’re trapped.”

The horse-faced man looked pale, peeking out from the already tilting back of the carriage.

Bang, a bullet flew past, wood chips hitting the horse-face man’s face.

No one dared to show their face again. The Daimyo knelt inside the wooden carriage, with his wife beside him screaming incessantly, driving everyone crazy, while Zimo and others with the guards hid behind or under the carriage.

The current situation was that whoever dared to show their face would die. After a stalemate for about ten seconds, bullets screamed again.

Bang, bang, bang...

Holes exploded one after another from the wooden carriage, and the River Country Daimyo inside cried out in terror. His screams persisted for a few seconds before ceasing, blood oozing from the nearly shattered carriage; the River Country Daimyo had been sniped.

The gunshots ceased, and Su Xiao half-crouched on the large bird made by Deidara; the two were flying in the high sky several hundred meters away.

Su Xiao ejected the empty magazine of the Spider Queen, inserted a full magazine, and after pulling the bolt, aimed the sights again at the carriage.

[You killed the Daimyo of the River Country, Kitada Ryota.]

[The Daimyo of the River Country, Kitada Ryota, was a special plot character. You obtained 1.2% of World Source, now totaling 10% of World Source.]

...

Su Xiao was a bit surprised; in his view, the Daimyo of the River Country, who commanded a mid-sized country, would grant at least more than 3% World Source upon death.

It seems now, the Daimyo of the River Country was likely just a puppet, used by the Country of Fire as a buffer between The Land of Wind, lacking real power.

[Mission by the Akatsuki Organization fulfilled; 120 Contribution Value earned.]

...

”Target is dead.”

Although the target was dead, Su Xiao still had his gun aimed at the carriage as there were still guards and contractors there.

”Is it really that simple?”

Deidara was quite surprised, marvelling at Su Xiao’s firearm.

”Yes, already sniped by me, shall we eliminate all witnesses?”

”Let’s eliminate them, the client paid us well; we have to do this cleanly.”

Deidara yawned; he wasn’t planning to make a move.

Su Xiao half-crouched on the bird’s back; the enemies below were certainly dead if they dared show their faces. Even if they didn’t, he had other ways.

While Su Xiao sniped with ease, at the back of the carriage, Zimo and the others were struggling painfully.

The strength of the three wasn’t weak, but Su Xiao had air superiority and a distance advantage; the three had no means to attack across a kilometer, and the enemy could fly.

If this stalemate continued, Zimo and the others would be dead for sure, as Deidara was already maneuvering the bird to circle the side of the carriage.

The bird in the sky circled, and Zimo and the few guards circled around the carriage to avoid Su Xiao’s sniping.

After circling halfway, Deidara became impatient, reaching into a bag of clay.

”Use the double-winged bird, hm.”

Deidara tossed out a few dragonfly-shaped little birds, each with two pairs of wings, flying at very high speed.
